@TommieNC i hope your OH has forgiven you. I have to set alarms for these things too

@Daisychain93x have you tested yet?

Thirdtimesacharm1 · 04/05/2022 19:01

@Steph2345 thanks. Will try distract myself over the next two weeks 🤞🤞🤞

Daisychain93x · 04/05/2022 21:37

@Yoga817 Sorry to hear it hasn’t worked out for you. Like others have said, raise your concerns with the clinic and hopefully they will be more helpful!

@Steph2345 I did a test this evening and have been very fortunate to have a positive test!

Steph2345 · 04/05/2022 22:25

@Daisychain93x this is great news! Congratulations! Xx

@Daisychain93x congratulations 🎊 do you have a date for your first scan yet?

I've just informed my clinic of my positive as today is OTD, scan booked in at 7 weeks on 20th May 😁 let the nerves begin now!

That's amazing @Daisychain93x congratulations! And yay for you as well @Autumn245 :) onto the next level!

Wow @Thirdtimesacharm1 that is a really good result - crossing fingers this ensures you won't need another retrieval.

TommieNC · 05/05/2022 09:44

@Somatronic @SamTTC @Steph2345 He was pretty grumpy until lunch when I apologized a million more times and then he perked up. Luckily I wasn't home until 4:00pm so he had mostly gotten over it by then, went out to eat, had some cake and a couple of nice presents.
I've now set alarms for the 3 May 2023 and 4 May so I don't forget again.

@Thirdtimesacharm1 wow, 5 embryos to freeze, that's amazing!! I have everything crossed for you.

@ks94 @Yoga817 I am so very sorry to hear about your negative results, this process can be so brutal at times.

@Daisychain93x @Autumn245 Congrats on the positive test results. I hope you guys don't go too crazy waiting for your first scan, it's such a nerve wracking time.

ks94 · 05/05/2022 10:18

Sorry everyone I’ve just been trying to keep myself busy in work the first day I was in a bit of a mess then I just thought i got to give myself a break it’s my first time so hopefully it will happen soon!

then I had my bleed yesterday and I think it hit home a bit! But then I got home from work and had a letter from the hospital for the beginning of June so just glad it’s still moving along and hopefully this frozen one will be the one!

I went to a reading the night I had a positive I’m not getting my hopes up but she did say to me I haven’t got kids yet and I’m going through a bit of a hard time atm and I’m going to end up having twin boys! So I’m kind of just hoping I suppose got to just think positive!!

congrats on all of you that have tested positive I hope your all feeling ok 😌❤️

ginandtonicformeplease · 05/05/2022 15:43

@Thirdtimesacharm1 Congratulations on being PUPO! And @Daisychain93x congratulations on the BFP.

I went for a week 9 scan today; probably unnecessary worrying on my part, but as my two MMC both stopped growing in week 8, I wanted to know if I'd made it to week 9 or not. We saw its little heart beat, legs kicking around. So relieved.

Daisychain93x · 05/05/2022 15:54

Thanks everyone, it’s not really sunk in for us yet. 🙈
Congrats @Autumn245 That’s great news! My scan is booked for May 27th! MORE waiting! 😬😬

TommieNC · 06/05/2022 08:30

@ginandtonicformeplease That is wonderful news,!! I've also booked a private scan for 9w1d. This early stage can cause so much anxiety.

SamTTC · 06/05/2022 09:45

@ginandtonicformeplease how wonderful 🥰🥰

had my baseline scan today for my transfer cycle, everything looks fine as ever. I asked for a natural cycle this time, which feels like such a roll of the dice doesn’t it? You never know if one particular embryo has a better chance one way or another. But for my body I’m very relieved not to have to do all the pills and pessaries. Having my natural cycle ‘taken over’ felt so wrong, I really didn’t like it.
Also, I forgot to ask about it but I had my estrogen and progesterone levels measured throughout last cycle because I was in a study, and they were off the charts high on test day- I don’t know if there is such a thing as too much progesterone during implantation 🤔

I also had some reassurance in that if this next transfer also fails, they’ll start to consider me a RIF patient and will consider extra tests. Unfortunately they don’t do immune testing because they don’t believe in its legitimacy. They also suggested upping my stims for next retrieval to get more eggs out, since I had a 3/5 blastocyst formation rate and they think I can get more blasts out of more eggs collected. So all in all I’m feeling positive - and being off the drugs also helps my mood!

only problem is that I have had horrendous period pain these last two days, I’ve never experienced anything like it!! That ALSO could be due to the drugs- another reason I’m so happy to be doing a natural cycle…

Yoga817 · 06/05/2022 13:36

@SamTTC your clinic sounds great! Really sounds like they want to help you succeed rather than a one size fits all approach. Do you mind me asking which clinic you are at?

Steph2345 · 06/05/2022 16:36

@ginandtonicformeplease awww this is great! So glad you got to see your little one doing well. What a huge relief for you, I hope it has helped you feel more settled.

@SamTTC wow looks like you’re ready to get started with your next cycle. I completely understand wanting to do a natural cycle! The hormones totally mess with my natural system and take me a few months to feel back to normal again. How often will you have scans/check ups? Are you aiming for the transfer to be in about 2 weeks? I hope your period eases up for you!

@Suki2020 how is your OHSS doing now?

seems like we have had a quieter few days, hope everyone is ok? Xx

Amyhope123 · 06/05/2022 22:17

Hi guys I’m new to this thread and really need some reassurance because my journey has been a difficult one. I have been ttc for 4 years with one natural pregnancy that ended in mc at 8 weeks (d&c done to remove) since then I have struggled to get pregnant. I have had all the nhs testing done which all came back clear and normal so I fit into the dreaded category of ‘unexplained infertility’. I was referred to care Manchester in November 2021 when I had my first ec (6 good quality embryos) my fresh transfer was unsuccessful so I was advised to wait two bleeds and then go for a fet. I started taking estradol in February but when I went for my lining scan they saw that I had a mature egg and that my body had already ovulated and therefore had to cancel that cycle. I then spoke with me doctor who put me on the long protocol with down regulation which I started in April, everything went well and I had a smooth et but today at 10dp5dt I got a BFN I’m devastated, I had so much hope for this transfer. I don’t know where to go from here, although I still have 5 embryos left I don’t want to waste them I think unexplained infertility is not good enough, because I am referred by the nhs I know the clinic will not do further investigation. Has anyone has any success with the 3rd transfer if so what did you do? Should I go for further testing? I have pancreatitis from the age of 11 but I have always been told that it will never effect my fertility, but I now feel like the inflammation from the pancreas may be the issue or I may have nk cells. I really want a baby I turn 31 this month and I’m just so fed up.

Steph2345 · 06/05/2022 23:00

@Amyhope123 hi! I’m so sorry to hear that you have had another BFN!
i happen to be with Care too (Bath though not Manchester), and our consultant has been really great. I’m not sure what tests you’ve had or what tests you would like to have but we paid for the additional tests we wanted for my OH separately even though we are going through NHS too so it may be worth speaking to someone about that perhaps.
having 5 embryos left sounds amazing though!!
are you doing this as a couple/with someone or are you doing IVF alone?

Amyhope123 · 06/05/2022 23:20

@Steph2345 im doing ivf with my partner we have both been tested and everything seems to be fine. I have had all the general testing done by the nhs before they referred me for ivf but I still know something is missing which is causing the implantation issues. Have you had your transfer? And what testing did you request for?

Yoga817 · 07/05/2022 07:22

@Amyhope123 I am sorry to hear about your failed transfers. I just suffered a bfn after a double embryo transfer and convinced I have issues with my lining, so I'm going to have some tests done at the Coventry University Hospital Implantation Clinic. They take a biopsy of lining at certain time in your cycle to understand if there is an immune issue and to see what the levels of natural killer cells are. It's £540 in total for the tests. I have my first appointment Monday and can let you know how it goes.

Amyhope123 · 07/05/2022 11:26

@Yoga817 im so sorry to hear about your bfn. I pray that our bfp is on its way! Yes it would nice to hear about your experience, would you get the results straight away? Which clinic are you using for ivf?

unCliche · 07/05/2022 13:47

Hey @Steph2345, thought I'd pop in to let you know how I'm getting on. This thread was moving a bit too fast for me so couldn't keep up. I hope your OHSS is settling down now and you're able to enjoy your pregnancy going forward. I got a BFP yesterday at 4dp5dt and I tested again today on a FRER and the line looks good.

Good luck to everyone else waiting for EC, ET or are in their TWW waiting for good news 😊

Steph2345 · 07/05/2022 20:10

@unCliche hi! Oh wow congratulations!! Has it sunk in yet? Have you told your clinic or do you need to wait a few more days? I’m doing ok thanks, had a scan at the end of this last week so got to see the heartbeat! Cried my eyes out!! They scanned my ovaries too and still pretty big so more rest for me which I’m not very good at.

@Amyhope123 we had the oxidative stress sperm test (think Care call it an SOS analysis) and then my AMH came back low so ended up having ICSI. I would definitely ask for a follow up consultation and make sure you ask for extra tests in that. You’ll probably have to pay unfortunately as the NHS seem to be the minimum tests required

Suki2020 · 08/05/2022 11:06

Hi @Steph2345 sorry I’ve been so quiet lately. I’m still very bloated with the OHSS but it’s not as painful anymore. I’ve put on 10lbs since having the OHSS but they tell me it’s just fluid and will go eventually. How are you doing. Lovely to know that you got to see your little bubba and know that all is well. We have our scan on the 20th may.

@unCliche congratulations that’s great news.

@Amyhope123 sorry to hear about your failed transfers it’s so tough. I hope you get some answers soon.
