How are we? I've got my section date - 7th Dec! Cannot wait. Been in hospital with high blood pressure so it's been hectic.

@Coops0406 my house is still a building site :(

@PMAmostofthetime when is 20 week scan?

Somatronic · 15/11/2022 15:45

@AliceAbsolum OMG that's so soon! 😅 You must be so excited. I'm sorry to hear about the blood pressure. Are you home again now? Did you have your baby shower in the end?

I'll be 33 weeks on Thursday. Nothing to report other than insanely painful ribs on the front and back of my right side. So annoying. Makes work difficult. I'll see what the doctor says in 2 weeks' time. I had low iron but horrible galfer tablets have sorted it so I'm happy about that. Having lunch with my pals this weekend to mark the occasion, a baby shower without presents if you will, so that'll be nice.

How is everyone doing?

LT103 · 15/11/2022 20:31

Oh wow it’s getting close!! That’s no time at all!!!
im 11 weeks and it’s flying in! Had a scan at weekend after some spotting and baby was wriggling around happily

PMAmostofthetime · 16/11/2022 00:21

@AliceAbsolum wow so soon, sooo excited for you.
Aside from the high blood pressure how are you feeling.
Are you ready aside from the building site?

20 week scan is tomorrow, hence why I'm awake at this hour- too nervous to sleep convinced something will be wrong. I've not felt the baby at all yet.

@LT103 that's gone so fast, glad everything was ok, when's your official scan?

X

PMAmostofthetime · 16/11/2022 11:43

Scan done, one happy healthy baby :) starting to believe this could be real. X

LT103 · 16/11/2022 12:07

@PMAmostofthetime yay glad scan went well.

my 12 week scan isn’t until 1dec at 13+3 annoyingly

AliceAbsolum · 16/11/2022 13:05

@PMAmostofthetime Yay! You're half way with a perfect baby :)

We are ready apart from the house. Which is good. I'm winding down work, etc. Started NCT yesterday, hopefully we will meet some new mum and dad friends.

PMAmostofthetime · 16/11/2022 23:19

@LT103 my 12 weeks was at 13 weeks but then my 20 week was smack on.

@AliceAbsolum that's good, hope the hour is not causing you too much stress.

I've heard NCT is good they are not in my area unfortunately. Hope you make lots of connections ready for when the baby is here.
X

Hi all not sure if I’m allowed to join but hoping for some support regardless. Partner and myself have been trying for two years now both 30yrs old. We have been through all of our initial testing and it was decided we have unexplained infertility. We did get pregnant five years ago but unfortunately the pregnancy wasn’t viable and we were so heartbroken we decided we weren’t ready to try…of course the way life goes looking back I think we both feel stung by regret that we didn’t continue to try then. Anyway getting away from that I feel like rightly or wrongly I am really beginning to struggle emotionally with what is going on. I work with children daily and it is starting to effect me constantly. I’ve tried distracting myself with activities and everything the gp recommended etc but it got so bad a few months ago I could barely function and I had to concede to AD. Our infertility claims has been less than helpful really I’m not complaining as we are very lucky to have been put on the waiting list but we were sent away with leaflets six months ago and haven’t had contact since, when we do call to ask for support or an update which has been a total of twice we’ve effectively been told to wait our turn for a call but they don’t know when that will be. Is this normal? We are very new to all of this and are doing the best we can but I’m hoping some of you may be able to offer any advice or experience? Thank you xx

Hello @Bob2971

Sorry for your struggles, we had unexplained too aside from myself having Ceri vocal stenosis which isn't seen as a fertility issue if there is an opening.

Next time you call I'd ask for the current waiting times. We waited around 9 months for an initial appointment. After that it's pretty quick though.

It would be good for you to know timescales as you can play trips away and events and stop constantly waiting- this really helps with the process.

AliceAbsolum · 03/12/2022 18:28

I've got a section booked for Monday! And I'm first on the list so I should have a baby by 9am 😁
One more day of infertility.
Doesn't seem real. At all.

How's everyone doing?

Hi @AliceAbsolum!

that is so exciting!! How are you dealing with the waiting??? Do you know how long they will keep you in hospital?

im doing good thanks, less than 2 weeks until due date now but who knows when this little one will decide to make an appearance. I’ve always thought I’d be a little early but the closer it’s getting I’m not to sure. Baby has been engaged for a few weeks now but no other signs yet.

hope everyone is keeping well xx

Somatronic · 03/12/2022 23:37

@AliceAbsolum amazing news. So exciting! I have a month to go and am starting to struggle a bit. I'm breathless, have bad rib pain and I find everything a struggle right now cos I'm so big. I got signed off by the doctor so that'll be a big help.

No other news - just preparing for the arrival after being crazy busy with work and then extended family stuff every weekend for the last few weeks.

LT103 · 04/12/2022 07:52

@AliceAbsolum wow how exciting!!! Hope everything goes well for you!!

all good here. I’m currently 14 weeks and had my 12 week scan last week which was fine so we started telling everyone which had made it all a bit more exciting and real!! Symptom wise haven’t been too bad and those I did have are settling a bit now

Coops0406 · 04/12/2022 20:26

@AliceAbsolum wow!!! I was thinking if you yesterday as I had in my head the 6th December! I can't believe it is here! Wishing you a safe arrival of baby and the most wonderful Xmas! ❤️
We had our 20 week scan and all good here! Halfway now 🥰

Nutrinerd · 05/12/2022 10:43

@AliceAbsolum oh this is so exciting! Hope everything has gone wonderfully this morning. i am currently in a last minute panic of not having enough teeny tiny clothes. Everything is still in boxes with receipts taped to them, but probably need to actually unpack stuff now!

So lovely seeing everyone’s scan updates. I panicked at my final scan appointment when the consultant said no more scans, the next time she would see me would be with a baby! They are a such a groundhog day of fear and very short term reassurance. In the end I declined letting midwives measure my bump as I was getting sent for even more scans (have measured small throughout, but on the scans little one was dainty but growing nicely).

Look forward to seeing more updates!

ginandtonicformeplease · 05/12/2022 11:42

I hope all has gone well this morning @AliceAbsolum.

@Somatronic I really struggled towards the end of pregnancy - in all honesty I couldn't wait for it to be over! But DS arrived safe and sound last week. He's asleep in my arms now and I still can't really believe it!

LT103 · 05/12/2022 12:45

@ginandtonicformeplease amazing. Glad he’s here safe and sound.

@AliceAbsolum hope everything went well this morning!!

Autumn245 · 05/12/2022 13:55

@AliceAbsolum hope all goes well today, can't wait to hear your update when baby here 😊

@ginandtonicformeplease congratulations! Makes everything all worth it when you finally get those baby cuddles 🥰

I've got this week left at work then that's me on maternity leave. Had a scan last week at 35 weeks, baby been measuring 90th centile most of the way through and have another scan on 16th, with possibly induction on 29th Dec if she's not here before the!

Somatronic · 05/12/2022 14:07

@ginandtonicformeplease oh wow! Congratulations! Fabulous news.

I'm off on sick leave from today due to the constant pain even though I'm not quite 36 weeks left. My job is very stressful and they wouldn't let me work from home so I had no choice really.

@AliceAbsolum thinking of you today! Can't wait to hear how everything went.

AliceAbsolum · 05/12/2022 22:05

She's here, safe and well. I had such a great experience. Calm, quiet, lovely. She latched straight on.
Incredible!

Looking forward to getting the night done with.

PMAmostofthetime · 05/12/2022 22:57

@AliceAbsolum sorry I missed these but absolutely over the moon for you. Hope you are both doing well 💕
Please keep us updated! X

Somatronic · 05/12/2022 23:00

Congratulations! Delighted everything went so well for you @AliceAbsolum xx

AliceAbsolum · 05/12/2022 23:02

I feel like if you have done ivf you are entitled to a good birth 😅

PMAmostofthetime · 05/12/2022 23:04

@Steph2345 not long for you now. How are you feeling. I am 22 weeks now and can honestly say I do not like pregnancy. Currently suffering with PGP as I want to keep doing everything.

@Somatronic sorry to hear your struggling, hopefully little one won't keep you waiting.

@LT103 how lovely, how are you feeling? When is your dude date?

@Coops0406 so glad to hear your 20 week scan went well, did you find out?

@Nutrinerd how long do you have left?
Getting close for you now, glad all is well.

@ginandtonicformeplease congratulations! So pleased for you 💙

@Autumn245 how amazing, hope she doesn't keep you waiting.
