@PMAmostofthetime So pleased for you - the time will fly by. I know what you mean about waking for the toilet in the middle of the night and then not getting properly back to sleep - I'm now 27 weeks and I haven't had a full night's sleep since the beginning 😭

@AliceAbsolum I'm trying not to worry too much about the movement - mine seems to be a night owl, but for some reason he's up early today (sex unknown, but I don't like to call him 'it'!).

@Somatronic I'm also telling people as I see them. I don't do social media (except MN!) and I don't really want to blast out a group text. I realised this morning that hardly anyone at work knows - post-pandemic office has shutdown and we all WFH. Maybe I should start telling people via Zoom Grin

Somatronic · 05/09/2022 12:23

@ginandtonicformeplease it's an awkward one to just blurt out though isn't it? I haven't told anyone who I work remotely with either - just don't know how to bring it up. Some work friends know but everyone will know next week when working from home ends and they see the size of me!

PMAmostofthetime · 05/09/2022 20:52

@ginandtonicformeplease @Somatronic

I have a plan for work- we have 6 weekly meetings and at the next one we have to have a team photo just as the camera is about to flash I'm going to shout I'm pregnant 😂 x

PMAmostofthetime · 05/09/2022 20:52

That's all being well x

ginandtonicformeplease · 05/09/2022 21:33

@PMAmostofthetime @Somatronic I told the office gossip this afternoon - it seemed the easiest way to let people know!

Somatronic · 05/09/2022 21:36

@ginandtonicformeplease ha! Good call!

PMAmostofthetime · 06/09/2022 08:40

@ginandtonicformeplease 😂🤣😂🤣

AliceAbsolum · 13/09/2022 08:43

@PMAmostofthetime how's it going? When's your 12 week scan?

PMAmostofthetime · 13/09/2022 22:02

@AliceAbsolum I'm constantly worried somethings wrong I'm 11 weeks tomorrow but no longer feel better pregnant :(

My 12 week scan is 29th September so I'll be exactly 13 weeks then.

I've been looking into private scans and Dopplers to reassure myself x

AliceAbsolum · 14/09/2022 08:14

@PMAmostofthetime Totally hear you, its such a stressful place to be. I was exactly the same. I had a 10 week scan and 10+2 I was worrying. I used to not eat breakfast so I would feel more sick and therefore more reassured.....coming from an emetophobic! You're coming towards the end of the 2nd trimester so symptoms may well be easing off for you.
I'd def go for a scan over a doppler any day, as I'm sure you have read they are not recommended by the NHS. I've had about 5 now and the midwives always pick up the placenta or my heart-rate for ages before they get the babies. So if they cant do it, what chance do we have. I think towards the later stages it can be dangerous as people are reassured they have found a heart-rate but actually they need further monitoring.
Once you have had that 12 week scan and all looks well you might relax a bit more. Do you have people around you can talk too?

PMAmostofthetime · 14/09/2022 13:43

@AliceAbsolum still haven't told anyone- still feel it's too good to be true and will be over at any point and if it is- i don't want anyone knowing as I find it easier that way.
I think I'll try and get in for a private scan this weekend. And see how I feel from there. Then I'll only have just over a week for my next scan.

I had scans at 6+4
7+5 and 9 so I think 2 weeks os just too much for me 🙈 this is going to be costly.

How are you feeling? X

AliceAbsolum · 14/09/2022 17:41

@PMAmostofthetime You got to do what you got to do to get through. If i hadn't found the process of the scans so anxiety provoking in themselves I might have had more. You will probably be offered serial scans, so at least from 20 weeks you wont have to pay!

I'm 27 weeks tomorrow, growth scan on Friday. I'm noticeably bigger than i was 2 weeks ago, so I'm not hugely worried, but you never know. I want her to be like 98th percentile.
I know i keep repeating myself but this has been the longest 6 months OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. Never realised I was so impatient. I just feel like someone is dangling a billion pounds just out of my reach....I would also turn down a billion pounds everyday for a guarantee that she will be born alive and well. The stillbirth risk is really tiny, but doesn't stop my mind thinking about it every bloody day.
Ok, I'm done moaning.

PMAmostofthetime · 14/09/2022 21:00

@AliceAbsolum I totally understand and I'm no where near as far along as you but everything seems to have slowed down- before I'd blink and 6 months had past- not any more still not even past the first trimester.

I just want it to be April and have a happy healthy baby x

LT103 · 19/09/2022 20:48

I haven’t been on here for a while but I love that this thread is still going. People who were just getting positive tests are more than halfway through!! Amazing!
congrata @PMAmostofthetime on your pregnancies and really hope this bleed settles and isn’t anything to worry about.

i had my last transfer in March which ended in an empty sac and I had an MVA in June. We had a couple of months off but back to business and we had our second FET on Saturday with a test date of 27th.
i got loads of cramps and pains last transfer right up til MVA. This time around just had a few niggley pains so worrying it hasn’t worked but I know it’s far too early. Just my irrational side coming out!!

LT103 · 19/09/2022 22:04

oh mistake. Had my collection in March and my last transfer in may

PMAmostofthetime · 19/09/2022 22:39

@LT103 sorry to hear about your tough journey.

Hope this time around is completed different and you get your dream.

Thank you- touch wood no further bleeds. I have my 12 week scan next week when I'll be 13 weeks so hoping everything goes well so I can relax a teeny bit x

AliceAbsolum · 28/09/2022 14:17

@PMAmostofthetime is your scan today?

@LT103 how did test day go?

I had my 28 week midwife appointment today. All is still fine. She told me to watch carefully for a reduction in movements and if they don't improve in half an hour then come in for monitoring.... Such a anxiety provoking thing! I might as well just spend my days in the labour ward on a monitor. So ready for her to be born

LT103 · 28/09/2022 16:47

@AliceAbsolum i can’t believe it. I tested yesterday at 10dpt and got an amazing positive!! Hcg came back at 243!! (Last transfer hcg was only 32 at this point)

unless anything changes, I’m booked in on 17 October for a scan. I’ll be 7 weeks exactly then. Part of me wishes I was getting more bloods to reassure me it’s fine but they said no need so just going with it!

i can’t believe it! I also can’t help but thinking it’s going to go wrong so struggling to get too excited. Hopefully after the scan Things will settle

AliceAbsolum · 28/09/2022 16:50

Amazing!! Congratulations! That's a lovely line and hcg. 7 weeks is a good time for a scan.

PMAmostofthetime · 28/09/2022 21:27

@AliceAbsolum it was today- Baby all good and a right little wriggler :)
28 weeks woah! How are you feeling?

@LT103 OMG! Congratulations 🥳 🎉
That's a really strong line!

X

AliceAbsolum · 29/09/2022 09:16

@PMAmostofthetime Ah so pleased for you. Its a great milestone. Welcome to the 2nd trimester!

29 weeks today. Having a bit of a freakout about how to monitor reduced movements, I think i just need to give up on finding some kind of logical formula - there is none.

PMAmostofthetime · 29/09/2022 22:59

@AliceAbsolum I'm sure you'll know-you have previously.
Thank you 27 weeks of anxiety left 🙈 x

PMAmostofthetime · 10/10/2022 22:36

Hey ladies, how are you all doing?

Those of you who were consultant led- which should be all of you? I think

When were your extra appointments and scans-
I'm nearly 15 weeks and haven't heard anything about consultant appointments or extra scans. X

Somatronic · 10/10/2022 22:39

I'm in Ireland so it's a different system but I see a consultant instead of a midwife. I haven't seen a midwife since my booking appointment. I get a quick scan every time I see the consultant which is every month at the moment, with GP visits in between so I'm seen by a doctor every 2 weeks.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Steph2345 · 11/10/2022 00:18

@PMAmostofthetime my extra consultant bits started week 28. However I’m now no longer under consultant care and was only under it to start with because I was in hospital with OHSS. I have been told by midwife and consultants that IVF/ICSI no longer automatically puts you under consultancy - it may be different in each area as to what they decide but apparently guidance now says not necessary.

hope you’re keeping well and glad to be through the first few months xx
