@AliceAbsolum aww im so pleased you’re having a little girl! It’s so exciting but even more so because it’s what you have hoped for! What will they be checking for at 26 week scan?

@PMAmostofthetime have the clinic agreed the beta? This is the bit that I found equally difficult (other being the 5 day wait to see if we had any viable embryos), everything will run through you’re head and you will probably be nervous as hell until you’re out of that scan. I worried the whole way through it so I can’t talk but try not to it really doesn’t do anything of any value

xx

PMAmostofthetime · 03/08/2022 21:28

@Steph2345
As I'm NHS the nurse was going to speak to the doctor to see if I could pay for it separately.
I try to forget about it then the pain comes and it panics me :(.
I'm also totally off food so have to force myself to eat. Any type of protein ( meat, fish, eggs, shakes and even bars make me gag) so I've literally just swallowed Salmon with water 🤢. Im not complaining though these symptoms scan continue as long as all is ok.

How are you feeling?

X

AliceAbsolum · 04/08/2022 09:11

Symptoms and lines all looking good @PMAmostofthetime Hope the beta is helpful x

@Steph2345 Scan at 26 weeks (and then I think scans every 4 weeks) is to check her growth, its a 15min scan and then 15min with the consultant obstetrician afterwards. Because of the low PAPP-A. I know it is a good thing that they are monitoring so much, but I don't like it. Scanxiety x1000

AliceAbsolum · 08/08/2022 16:38

@PMAmostofthetime How was the beta? How many days til your scan?

PMAmostofthetime · 08/08/2022 18:44

@AliceAbsolum they couldn't fit me in for Beta last week- so I've decided to just wait it out- still scared with every twinge and paranoid when I go to the toilet that it will all be over though.

Scans the 30th August when I'll be 8+6.

How are you feeling? You back in the house now? X

AliceAbsolum · 09/08/2022 08:12

@PMAmostofthetime I hear you, its a long 9 months. 30th of August must seem ages away. But 8+6 is a good time for a scan, if that goes well you've got crackin odds.

I'm ok, I'm in a pattern of 1 anxious day in the week. Always when my stomach is sore, or something funky happens with my body. Just counting down the days.
Got the house back now, so thats a nice distraction.

PMAmostofthetime · 09/08/2022 18:50

@AliceAbsolum I know it's 3 weeks today! 😩. I just want it to hurry up!

Nice that you have the house back and that you can shower when ever you want!
Do you have a lot to do to it?

Awwww anxiety is awful and I just don't think it will go away until our babies are in our arms.
I'm going to test again in the morning just too see the work Pregnant- hoping it will make me feel better x

AliceAbsolum · 09/08/2022 19:52

It is more difficult when you can't feel or see anything. Mine moves about a lot now which is reassuring.... Until she doesn't for a few hours then I worry!

House has a lot to do on it, and we need to do the whole nursery etc. But yeah it's good to keep busy.

PMAmostofthetime · 09/08/2022 21:17

I kept forgetting you know it's a girl. Have you told everyone? Have you narrowed names down yet?

Definitely good to keep busy.

Little one keeping you on your toes already- probably napping happily away.

PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 13:19

Hi All, had a scare this morning red blood followed by brown and and cramping.
Been to EPU and they scanned me externally and internally.

There's is a bleed, it's behind the sac and the baby had a little heartbeat already 🥰. Still cautiously optimistic as they said any bleed can increase the chances of miscarriage.
Told to take it easy. No lifting and nothing strenuous.

Hoping this little one sticks around.

Autumn245 · 14/08/2022 14:41

@PMAmostofthetime scary time for you! I had bright red blood at 8 weeks and it terrified me as it was so out of the blue I'm glad baby has a heartbeat 💓 fingers crossed everything runs smoothly and the bleed doesn't cause any problems down the line. How long until your next scan?

OP posts:
PMAmostofthetime · 14/08/2022 15:01

It's 2 weeks Tuesday and I have open access to the EPU until then.

They warned me that there would probably be no heartbeat at this stage and then they turned the screen after what felt like ages and showed me the little flicker. 🥰.

How are you feeling? X

AliceAbsolum · 18/08/2022 14:30

@PMAmostofthetime Sorry, I missed your updates. What a scare, it's horrible isn't it. But so pleased all is well. A heartbeat on a scan is a huge milestone.
How are things now?

How's everyone doing? I'm getting pretty massive now.

PMAmostofthetime · 18/08/2022 14:41

@AliceAbsolum I've had another bleed
:( waiting for the clinic to call me back as the EPU won't see me until after Sunday so a week after they last seen me.

I feel really sick today and my stomach feels heavy- I have been frantically doing tests I don't know why as I know they would still show positive.

Awww 🥰 your showing now- That little girl is strong and healthy in there x

AliceAbsolum · 18/08/2022 14:51

@PMAmostofthetime Argh I'm sorry, I had the same, had to wait a week until they could scan me again. Just awful, its the last thing you need after everything it has taken to get this far.
All I'll say is that bleeding in IVF pregnancies is SO common. But you wont feel reassured until you see that little heartbeat again.

PMAmostofthetime · 18/08/2022 14:56

@AliceAbsolum Thank you. I'm desperately hoping all is ok but so scared x

AliceAbsolum · 18/08/2022 15:08

I know. I still think about that time even now, dont think I've been to the loo since without worry about seeing blood. Do you have a next scan booked?

PMAmostofthetime · 18/08/2022 15:51

@AliceAbsolum it's awful Isn't it I'm afraid to go to the toilet for fear of what I will find.

My next scan is on 30th August but hoping I can have one Sunday/Monday.

X

PMAmostofthetime · 19/08/2022 13:39

@AliceAbsolum @Autumn245

Scan booked with EPU for Monday 2:20.
Really nervous but glad we will know.
If all is ok scan booked with the clinic for 30th Aug.

X

Autumn245 · 19/08/2022 14:08

@PMAmostofthetime sorry forgot to reply the other day! Glad you've managed to get another scan booked in for Monday, hopefully it will ease your mind a bit more and that everything is going well. X

@AliceAbsolum how far along are you now? I'm 20 weeks today and having a girl also 💖

OP posts:
AliceAbsolum · 19/08/2022 16:08

@Autumn245 23+1. It's going a tiny bit quicker now. Is it going slowly for you? Congrats on a girl ! Did you have your 20 week scan?

Steph2345 · 20/08/2022 01:34

@PMAmostofthetime oh no! I’m so sorry you’ve been going through this! I hope this weekend flies by for you and it’ll be scan time before you know it xx

Autumn245 · 20/08/2022 13:05

@AliceAbsolum it's not felt the quickest haha but I'm guessing now we are starting to buy things and set the nursery up that things will feel like there are moving faster. Had my 20 week scan at 18+5 but they wouldn't tell me gender so had to book a private scan for that!

DH and I ended up in the labour ward last night. She normally starts kicking around after dinner but I felt nothing from 6-10pm, so we called and they said to come in. She started jumping around when we sat down to wait. Typical.
It was really eerie at night, sitting there listening to the screams! Eep.

PMAmostofthetime · 20/08/2022 19:09

@AliceAbsolum I have been there a few times ( in a weird capacity at night) one night I counted 5 women in and out with their babies. The Dads were coming out to phone relatives and I'd seen them going in.

It was eerie though I agree.
Glad she's ok x
