@PMAmostofthetime that's interesting about the chances of a girl or a boy. I read somewhere here that someone's embryologist said that day 5 embryos that are graded as the highest quality are 70% likely to be boys. I don't know how true that is but it made me slightly concerned as all my embryos fit that bill and I'd prefer one of each! Oh well.

I'm not going to find out the sex. I think it's a bit of fun not knowing and finding out will be the only spontaneous part of this process!

PMAmostofthetime · 29/07/2022 11:50

@Somatronic I read the same it's because male sperm are faster but I suppose I'm a Petri dish they are poured literally over the eggs or next to them so there must be some girls in there.

Autumn245 · 29/07/2022 13:03

Ive also heard more boys from IVF but my friend had a girl so maybe its more 60/40 for boys rather than a 50/50 chance. Had a little chuckle with the more girls from ICIS as I know they select the best looking sperm... we all know females are the better looking sex 😉 haha.

@Autumn245 😂🤣 that's made me chuckle now too.

There's only a tiny increase it's 51% boys 49% girls.

Still scared- had some brown discharge last night so tested last night and this morning clinic said it's probably old implantation blood.

Was so sure it was over before it began x

Nice line progression! Things looking good.

I basically bled and spotted on and off from 6-15 weeks. It's much more common with ivf pregnancies. Horrible stuff

Autumn245 · 30/07/2022 11:11

Great line progression! Brown is old blood so try not to worry (easier said than done!) I bled at 8 weeks and was in tears thinking it was over, was just before heading to my dads for dinner too and they didn't know yet so had to put on a brave face and hope it stopped, which it did thankfully. Always a scary thing to happen to anyone but feel its worse for us as we put all our hopes and dreams on that little embryo sticking around x

@PMAmostofthetime those tests look amazing!!

@AliceAbsolum did you have your scan this week? Hope it went well

x

AliceAbsolum · 30/07/2022 12:02

@Steph2345 Monday. I'm much more relaxed about it than the 12 week one. Hoping for good news and a girl :D

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 10:27

@Steph2345 Thank you! Still scared- I think I may believe it if we get to 20 weeks which will be Nov 16th. You guys will be nearly due to deliver them.
When's your 20 week? Have you had it or is it this week?

Good Luck for tomorrow @AliceAbsolum x

AliceAbsolum · 31/07/2022 10:35

@PMAmostofthetime Thanks mate. Even though I've got a bump and can feel the baby moving, I still don't believe it half the time!

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 10:51

@AliceAbsolum awwwww little bump- would you be able to hide it if you wanted too. I'm thinking of not announcing until 20 weeks if we get that far.

AliceAbsolum · 31/07/2022 10:53

Maybe just, pokes through baggy clothes now, everyones bumps are so different though, ive seen people who look 30 weeks and people with a flat stomach at 20 weeks.

Are you going to have an early scan?

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 11:42

The clinic does one 3 weeks from positive OTD and if all ok I'll probably book another for 9 then have my 12 week x

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 11:42

@AliceAbsolum I forgot to tag you x

AliceAbsolum · 31/07/2022 11:46

7 weeks is a good time for a scan.

Steph2345 · 31/07/2022 18:39

@PMAmostofthetime i had mine last Wednesday. Everything looking good, and I looked away at certain points to make sure we don’t know what we are having.
I had scans at 7,10 & 12 weeks (paid for a private one between clinic and dating scan for some peace of mind). We told our parents on OTD and then my close girls friends who have known every step over the last 18 months at 12 weeks and then other friends at 16… no way I could hide it now at 20 though! My bump looked like a bump from 17 weeks.

@AliceAbsolum good luck tomorrow. I’m sure everything will be absolutely perfect!

xx

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 19:26

@Steph2345 that's fantastic news :)
Glad it all went smoothly.

I'm having sharp pains in my right lower abdomen :(.

X

Steph2345 · 31/07/2022 19:53

@PMAmostofthetime it could be anything hun I know it’s easy to say but try not to worry. I had period pains for a few weeks after I tested positive.
how are you doing with the pessaries? They play havoc with our bodies too xx

PMAmostofthetime · 31/07/2022 20:05

@Steph2345
Thank you!

I'm ok with them- they make me exhausted- we'll at least I think it's them.
I have to do them and then lie down as the other entrance is not an option makes me sore and constipated ( Sorry TMI) but I am just pleased I still need to do them :).
X

AliceAbsolum · 01/08/2022 12:59

Scan was good, no concerns and it's a girl 😍😍
So pleased. Obviously totally relived all is well but I'm surprised how pleased I am that she's a girl. Clearly had quite a strong preference.
Whoop whoop. Another hurdle done.

AliceAbsolum · 01/08/2022 13:03

@PMAmostofthetime I have random pains most days. They still freak me out. If I could change one thing it would be letting go of that a bit. Honestly you'll feel so many random things.
I have shooting pains in my bum and sides, sometimes it's quite bad. Think it's round ligament pain. Pregnancy is weird.

PMAmostofthetime · 01/08/2022 14:28

@AliceAbsolum amazing news! So pleased for you! A little girl how wonderful.

Thank you, I'm trying not to worry too much lovely Dye stealing line this morning x

AliceAbsolum · 03/08/2022 19:50

@PMAmostofthetime how's it going?

I'm weirdly still really OTT pleased she's a girl. Clearly I had a much stronger preference than I thought. Next scan at 26 weeks.

PMAmostofthetime · 03/08/2022 19:54

@AliceAbsolum it's wonderful news. Have you been discussing names again now that you know?

I'm exhausted and having really sharp pains in my stomach so I'm scared. I've not tested since Monday I told myself I will only test once a week. I am 5 week pregnant today! Which seems insane Scan isn't until 30th August as we are away from 13th- 25th 🙈 and it's too early before so that's stressing me out.

I've rang the clinic asking for a beta to calm my nerves. X
