@AliceAbsolum I will do/ I was really sore this morning and now I know why!

@Steph2345 I was so shocked- 8 last time the same as you- yes call tomorrow about fertilisation. I hope a few of them fertilise.
They are going to go day by day. As long as I don't develop OHSS they will go ahead- I have to call them daily to check in- my weighed down they can monitor it.

@Somatronic I was better coming around this time. I remember more of the EC at the beginning but not much last time was absolutely nothing and I woke before coming out where as last time I woke in recovery/ I think that's probably because I was in there so long.
I am more tired now though and have slept a lot and my stomach is sore but they advised that is because my ovaries were so expanded that they are a little tender.

So had my update call this morning there was 20 not 21 the other was a mass off cells but not yet an egg and out of the 20-18 Fertilised!!!
I'm so excited-- hopefully they will get to day 5 blasts this time.
Feeling cautiously optimistic after none made blasts last time and hoping at least some make it.

18! Fantastic! Fingers crossed for you! I hope you're feeling OK. I found recovery from EC much harder than I was told it would be, and when I was having my 8 week scan they said my ovaries were still very swollen so it makes sense that you're in pain - and you had more than twice as many eggs as I had!

@Somatronic Thank you that's reassuring did anything help you with the pain or swelling?

@PMAmostofthetime I tested positive for covid last week, finally got a negative today. Thankfully it wasn't too bad, maybe 2 or 3 days where I felt like rubbish. Hope it's not too bad for you either. Get plenty rest and drink lots of water @TommieNC congrats on your girl! I'm hoping I will soon get my burst of energy and start feeling good in this pregnancy. 15 weeks tomorrow. Have my gender scan booked for 10th aug.

@Autumn245 in the end it wasn't Covid. I took antigens for 4 days and none of them were positive. I feel fine now thankfully!

@PMAmostofthetime I just took painkillers. I wasn't ever told I had OHSS or anything, but the ovaries were quite swollen for weeks afterwards and I was very bloated. I'm 15 weeks along today.

@Autumn245 Thank you 🤞🏼 they get to day 5 this time.

@Somatronic Thank you- they have not said I have it just high risk atm. There was some fluid around my ovaries on my last scan and the 20 eggs make it more risky.
Thank you I have been drinking loads and taking paracetamol's I was hoping you had a quick fix lol x

@PMAmostofthetime That's fantastic! I had OHSS, the clinic recommended coconut water or lucozade.

I had my 20 week scan today, everything looking good. We've chosen not to find out the sex.

Also told work today. Apparently it's bad timing

@Steph2345 still a little sore, I'm drinking loads as instructed but then I need to pee loads and when I need to go I can't stand up straight as it hurts. Was also constipated sorry for TMI but have take some Lactulose to help.
I am WFH today.

Thanks ladies, we have our consultation next Thursday after some chasing. Although 99.9% sure they are going to say they are only able to put us on the DE list.

Trying to do some research into clinics. Going back and forth whether to try another normal protocol closer to home or to try something more natural modified further afield. It's a minefield and so overwhelming but I thought doing some research might make me feel better going forward. So hard to know what to do.

remind me what protocols they tried with you?

My outcome has been significantly different from short to long so far and I'm wondering if they didn't switch you up too much because of the trigger shot issue and they will do a different round with a completely different protocol.

@PMAmostofthetime we did antagonist short protocol with max dose of stims both times. We had hoped the second would go better but it went worse in that I had to stim longer then got no eggs. Really don't know what's best to do but will have to be private so a lot of research and consultations to do. I'm so hopeful for you for the best outcome this round 🤞🏻

I would ask about long protocol honestly-

So my first cycle short protocol low dose stims 14 follicles 8 eggs none made it to blast.

Long protocol down reg with Burserelin- then highest dose of stims
21 follicles 20 eggs- obviously we are not sure if any will make blast but my clinic said long protocol increases the eggs and the quality.

I really feel that you should fight for an NHS round for long protocol-
I would be asking their reasoning for not doing this the second time around.
First rounds are always short to avoid OHSS in people who respond well but given what happened it makes no sense that they didn't try long this time. X

@PMAmostofthetime thank you, basically I just got told last time same protocol as was max dose. They have been great up to now and I would hope have their reasons. I guess it was the best protocol they thought for me within their clinic.

Yeah there was never any fear of OHSS given my low AFC. Just so difficult knowing what to do and where to go next. Not just money, but emotionally and logistically it's a lot xx

We started to consider our options before this cycle It's on hold atm but it's really emotionally draining isn't it your whole life revolves around it.

Have you checked out different clinics statistics online? It lets you filter your age etc so see their outcomes. X

Update this morning ET Monday as long as my stomach pain subsides. 10 excellent embryos- 3 front runners 5 just behind and 2 good ones- they are leaving the other 8 in to see if they catch up.

Still petrified we will have none come Monday.

10 at day 3 is brilliant. I'd be incredibly surprised if you had none to freeze 👍

@PMAmostofthetime this is brilliant! Try to stay positive! Hopefully you have 1 to transfer and maybe some to freeze for the future too. I found the 5 day wait really tough but I hope your doing ok.

Yeah I've got a spreadsheet now set up with all the info I have on each place, have spoken to a few over the phone and got stats, rough costs, looked into flights etc. I just can't help but worry this is never going to happen and it's such an awful feeling.

@Steph2345 hanging in there thank you! How are you? I'm really sad to think as well that when we finish with our clinic I'll no longer have my counsellor and she has been so amazing through all of this x
