Thanks @Autumn245 @SamTTC @Nutrinerd

@ginandtonicformeplease I'm sorry you've had to go through this too, was it something you were prepared for or did it come out of the blue? I think my mind is already pretty much resigned to it being bad news because from all I read, my numbers truly are awful. There are some anecdotal good news stories out of a lot of bad ones, but I think the only study I found that researched exactly my scenario found the chances of it not being a miscarriage/ectopic with my beta starting number was about 7%. Not liking those odds!

I think (hope) I'll be ok as I've been through worse before, it was so much worse finding out about our mmc at a week 10 scan as we didn't expect it. I'm more worried about the aftermath though if it's ectopic (e.g. if I'll have to go to epu at the hospital by myself etc), and having to endure the tube journey/walk home by myself trying to keep it together. I probably won't contact dh until I get home as it'll trigger me to cry! Unless I do manage to get some private space in the clinic and he's not on a call. I'm basically wishing a day of my life away, can't wait until this time tomorrow!

TommieNC · 13/04/2022 19:32

I finally heard back from my gp about my Beta. We are cautiously optimistic.

@Herewegoagain881 For me the first time it was out of the blue: I was 10 weeks along and had a bleed while away for work. I went to A&E (middle of the night) as instructed by 111, where the doctor matter of factly told me I was probably having a "spontaneous abortion" and sent me away to wait until the next morning to go to the EPU. At the EPU they confirmed I'd had a MMC.

Two hour train journey home after that where the entire carriage of businessmen learnt about the IVF and MMC while I sobbed on the phone to DH.

Second time was also out of the blue, but in the clinic for a routine scan, so I could cry in private in one of their rooms until I could face the world - that made all the difference.

TommieNC · 13/04/2022 20:10

@Steph2345 congratulations on the positive test!!

PMAmostofthetime · 13/04/2022 20:11

@AliceAbsolum I'm invested- I'd be devastated if you left us for another thread.
Or any of you other ladders who have gotten a BFP- I love seeing that this works
@Nutrinerd that's goes for you too- op you defo need a little pineapple 🍍
My OH is hating the mood swings too.

@HJen22 I feel so much better today- And have rightly or wrongly I downloaded lots of IVF books ( some you have suggested) and I'm going to read through them, get back to the gym and enjoy the next few pessary free weeks.
I have bought a bucket load of scrap biking stuff and I'm going to make scrap books out of all the photos I have saved to my laptop to pass the time.
How's the covid symptoms? You covid free now?

@Herewegoagain881 wishing you the best of luck and hope it's good news at your scan tomorrow.

@Ivfhopefull welcome, I have no advise sorry but hopefully someone can help.

@Autumn245 it feels like forever away but I'm glad I know so I'm not watching the post constantly.

@SamTTC That makes sense- I expect it's dragging for you now. Hope you have found something to take your mind off things the next few days.

@Herewegoagain881
you have to go alone I'll keep checking the thread tomorrow incase you need to talk. What time do you need to go in?

X🍍

PMAmostofthetime · 13/04/2022 20:20

*ladies not ladders
I really need to proof read 🤣

PMAmostofthetime · 13/04/2022 20:22

@TommieNC congratulations!!!!!! 🍍 more great news today and that number is high is it twins? X

TommieNC · 13/04/2022 22:07

@PMAmostofthetime We only put one In and with our son it was 1267 on the equivalent day (13dp5dt), but who knows. Twins would be a little scary. I’ve been getting weird cramps on the lower right so Im getting a little paranoid.

Autumn245 · 13/04/2022 22:39

Trigger now done 😊 I had a little panic as the pen I had wasn't turning to 250 and I thought it was broken! I'm so used to the gonal pen showing all sorts of number before getting to my 150 dose but the Ovitrelle pen only showed a line until it finally showed 250 after I'd turned what felt like a million times. A small amount of the liquid came out also but only a few droplets so nothing to worry about.
Finally got there and surprisingly this one didn't hurt! I was honestly expecting this one to hurt the most!

PMAmostofthetime · 13/04/2022 23:04

@TommieNC i understand you being cautious. Looks like good results though. Congratulations-
Does your clinic do an early scan?

@Autumn245 I did a little happy dance after my trigger! I think the adrenaline makes it not hurt. Good luck with EC.

@Suki2020 how are you doing after EC?

@Nutrinerd will you have an early scan? How far along are you?

X

Bluebonnet3 · 14/04/2022 00:08

Hello, I've been following along for a while, and sometimes posting in other Jan-Feb-Mar-Apr ivf threads. @MollyVanDer I think I remember you from another thread from last year... anyway, I've just finished 3x rounds of embryo banking.

After 2 unsuccessful rounds of ivf (bfn, then bfp & mmc) it was one of several options suggested by my dr. I'm 42 now and we decided to do embryo banking with PGT-a testing, as a sort of last ditch effort. If we got multiple tested 'normals' then there was a chance of a baby or perhaps even a future sibling. The alternative was doing another fresh round, but if it worked and we wanted to try for a sibling we would have to do another EC at a later age.

It took us about 4 months to do the 3 rounds. We started with down reg at the end of Dec, EC in Jan, 2nd EC literally 3 weeks later (it was a dual stim or duo stim protocol where you start stims again 5 days after EC), then wait for 2 periods, then my third round was short protocol, so the stims started at day 2 with no down reg.

We decided to test each round instead of waiting to test them all at the end, and we got (1 : 4 : 0) 5/6-day blasts biopsied and frozen, which resulted in (1 : 1 : 0) tested normals. (Gutted the third round was a bust. We had 4 blasts in the running on day 5 but not big enough to biopsy, then they all quit growing.) But glad to have 2 good ones in the freezer!

Also we decided to have a frozen transfer 5 days after our third banking egg collection. I don't think it's common, but my Dr was fine with it and said if I felt good and ready in my body and mind, then we could go for it.

And some more good news, I had my blood test today (9dp 5dt) and it was positive! BFP!

PMAmostofthetime · 14/04/2022 00:11

@Bluebonnet3 Congratulations that's amazing news! How are you feeling? Sounds like it was definitely worth doing the banking and testing Smile

TommieNC · 14/04/2022 07:21

@PMAmostofthetime My clinic is in the Czech Republic, so I will once again become Ultrasound Direct in Cambridges most frequent customer, hopefully!!

@AliceAbsolum With my son I had semi sore breasts for 1 week and nothing else. I wished for morning sickness for that extra sense of security, but realised later that I got lucky. However, when you've had losses before I don't think there is much that would take away all of the worry.

My dh just reminded me that I won't get my beta results for today until Tuesday due to the holidays. Stinkin' holidays (joking, ha ha!!)

BlueSilver23 · 14/04/2022 07:46

Big congrats @Steph2345 and @Bluebonnet3! 🥳 Just trying to catch up on the thread a bit!

AliceAbsolum · 14/04/2022 08:08

@Autumn245 Congrats on the trigger. Glad it went well. Its certainly an experience I'm glad I'll never have to do again!

@Bluebonnet3 Wonderful news, congratulations :)

@Herewegoagain881 Thinking of you today

@TommieNC Thanks for the reassurance. I do have sore boobs, sicky feeling, and absolutely knackered, I wake up and start yawning, so I cant really complain that I don't have 'enough' symptoms. Also aware that even if I was throwing up 10 times a day I'd still not be reassured.

Thats so annoying about your beta. A 4 day weekend is not what anyone going through IVF needs!

I pee'd on my last stick today 3 days after the last one, and the control line was hardly there as the test line was so strong. Never thought I'd see progression that way around! Thats me done with POAS now. A month til my scan. Got to keep busy and stay calm.

Autumn245 · 14/04/2022 08:15

@TommieNC Those are some fab numbers! Did you tranfer 1 or 2?

@Bluebonnet3 Sounds rough going through all the rounds and testing but so great you've got your BFP! Congratulations! 🎉 🍍

Autumn245 · 14/04/2022 08:19

@AliceAbsolum thank you, I'm glad it's over with for the injections for now. Just my collection to worry about now, I'm so scared of feeling pain during the retrieval. Yay dye steelers are the best! Twins possibly??

HJen22 · 14/04/2022 08:19

@PMAmostofthetime I've really liked all the ivf books I've read. Since going back on insta as well I've followed loads of new accounts. Helps space out the friends baby photos more too 😂

Ugh I'm still ill. Day 7 today and yesterday was still very much a positive test, haven't done one today yet and no point really m. No way I'll be out before my 10 days (Scotland). I have worked on and off at home but I think I may spend the day in bed today.

@Herewegoagain881 thinking of you at your scan today x

@AliceAbsolum @Nutrinerd @Steph2345 yes please stay ladies I would also still love to chat to you all and continue following your journeys x

@Autumn245 congrats on the trigger and enjoy your injection free day today! How are you feeling? X

@TommieNC congratulations! Really glad to hear your number is high!

@Bluebonnet3 congratulations! What lovely news! All worth the hard work! That must have been a lot to put your body through! How are you feeling?

SamTTC · 14/04/2022 09:05

@HJen22 that’s so rubbish how long it’s lasting for you! I feel like I hear so many people getting covid now having a really bad time on it. For most people it lasts about a week though no? Are you feeling any better or is it still the same? Hope your dh at least is better so he can take care of you!

@Bluebonnet3 that’s wonderful news for you, after such a long struggle!

@AliceAbsolum ooh that’s so reassuring :)

@TommieNC so annoying about the holiday isn’t it?? Like at any other time it would be amazing but it just gets in the way 😂 I had my transfer delayed from Saturday till Tuesday because of it. 🙄

LuckyNovember · 14/04/2022 09:29

@TommieNC @SamTTC That's exactly how k felt about Christmas/New Year this year... it cost me A MONTH ... a whole precious month... I'm still slightly bitter 🤣

HJen22 · 14/04/2022 09:55

@SamTTC yeah I'm really hoping over the next few days I feel better. I've been feeling worse as the days go on. But I forced myself to shower and get dressed. The more I mope the worse I feel! My OH is doing better and taking good care of me. I miss walking the dog and getting fresh air every day, no matter how bad a day I'd be having I'd always get out. This is way worse than when I isolated before cos I just feel so rubbish. But hopefully over the weekend I'll be feeling better! I know, a few people I've spoken to have had it bad, my boss had it bad before me as well.

How are you feeling about transfer? Is it today you start the meds? Xx

Nutrinerd · 14/04/2022 10:19

@PMAmostofthetime having an early scan next week at 6+1 just to check location before travelling.

@HJen22 Hope you start to feel better soon and can get back to taking the dog out

HJen22 · 14/04/2022 11:02

@Nutrinerd thank you! Sorry for my moans, just so bored of feeling poorly 😂

Somatronic · 14/04/2022 11:41

Hi all. Had EC today. 9 eggs. Was crying and roaring with the pain in there so that was embarrassing 😬

Heading home now. Sorry can't read the thread at the moment cos I'm still woozy but hope everyone is OK!

AliceAbsolum · 14/04/2022 11:44

@somatronic Goodness. Why they don't put people to sleep I don't know. Glad you got 9 though, that's a great number. :)
