Sorry if there's already an April/May thread, I can't find it!

All of our tests have been completed (last August) and we were advised to call the clinic on day one of my cycle in April. AF arrived early for the first time in forever so I chanced ringing yesterday and we're good to go!!

Just waiting on a call back from the clinic with official dates and protocol but I know I'll be taking Norethisterone pills first so won't be dealing with injections for a good few weeks yet.

Is anyone else about to get started? It would be great to have some buddies along the way Smile

I'm 30, DH 27. TTC over 3 years and delayed getting tests due to Covid.
We're at Care Fertility Chester and this is out first ever round (we only get one NHS funded - thanks postcode lottery)

Just had the call from the lab. 7 fertilised eggs but she's not hopeful at all that any of them will be suitable for freezing as the quality isn't good

@ChristmasJumpers oh no I'm so sorry to hear that. Is there no chance of a fresh transfer? Fingers crossed for you.

If it's any consolation, my friend was told the same but her 3 embryos made massive development leaps and all 3 got to blasts on day 6, suitable for freezing. Really hope that happens to you X x

ChristmasJumpers · 14/05/2022 12:03

@IE00 unfortunately not as I'm in a bad way following collection so they don't want me to start ultrogestan as it can make symptoms worse 😞
I just want to have a good cry but I'm too sore even for that

That is so good to hear though, we only need one, I just have to hold on to hope for a few more days

@ChristmasJumpers so sorry to hear that. But it seems quite early to tell you about quality when they’ve just been in culture overnight. Anyway you only need one as you said. Crossing fingers there’s at least one and hopefully more that get there 🤞🏼

LouiseD2018 · 14/05/2022 15:59

It's very early for that kind of talk, these embryos are stronger than we think.

Hopefully given time they will catch up @ChristmasJumpers keeping everything crossed

IE00 · 15/05/2022 08:39

Hey how's everyone doing? I got a BFP! I still can't quite believe it. @Poppy9991 , @IVFGotThis05 and @Alexm06 hope you have some good news xxxx

IVFGotThis05 · 15/05/2022 09:08

Awww yay congratulations 🥰🥰 !!!

Hope there's more good news today !!

Unfortunately I got another bfn, so it'll be another egg collection for me as it was my last frozen embaby ! I'll keep a little eye on the thread to see how yous are getting on because it's so nice to hear of the success ! Keeps us going xx

IE00 · 15/05/2022 09:40

@IVFGotThis05 oh no I'm so sorry. Fingers crossed for the next EC. I'm glad you're able to go again. Hope you can focus on yourself today xxx

Poppy9991 · 15/05/2022 14:26

@IVFGotThis05 I am so so sorry to hear that. I really hope that next cycle works for you, remember, each time you try, the more probability you have of success. And everyone is different and is starting this journey with different parameters of course. Truly hope your next cycle is the one!

As for me, it is also a positive, I am really pleased of course. But my stress levels are actually now going through the roof since I’ve got the positive test. I see myself going through yet again another loss, I really hope not but it’s really difficult for me to get excited at this stage. Really too early. I’ll be counting the days…and hoping for the best. This group has been of great support so far so thanks all.

@IVFGotThis05 definitely give some news, I’ll be rooting for you for next cycle.

@IE00 congrats on your BFN, I hope all goes well for you too!

Poppy9991 · 15/05/2022 14:30

@IE00 OMG meant congrats on your BFP!! fat fingers there!!

Alexm06 · 15/05/2022 14:50

@IE00 my test date isn't until Friday. I'm 6dp5dt today and I have stupidly tested this morning and it's a negative I can't imagine it changing so yeah this was the worst cycle and worst embryos I've had so didn't really expect anything but it's still sucks. I know it's early but yeah I can't see it changing. But congrats to you! Seems like everyone is getting positives on this thread!
@Poppy9991 congrats to you too!

IE00 · 15/05/2022 14:55

@Poppy9991 congratulations!! I know it's so hard but I'm just taking every day at a time.

@Alexm06 I'm sorry I thought for some reason it was today. It's only 6 days I'd give it another 5 days, on the previous forum for my previous cycle someone shared a timeline and explained it can take up to 5 days for the embryo to implant xxx

Poppy9991 · 15/05/2022 15:45

@Alexm06 so sorry to hear that. 6dpt is still early but I see where you’re coming from. Don’t give up, it is definitely a journey. Retest in 3 days anyway, who knows? But in any case I think a lot of it is really beyond our or our doctors’ control.
Definitely feels like a lot of positive on the thread but I think there’s lot of ladies who stopped posting after a BFN so in the end it feels like there’s lot of success but let’s not forget those brave ladies having to go through another cycle. Really hoping for the best for everyone, we all want and deserve it so much.

LouiseD2018 · 15/05/2022 16:36

Congratulations @IE00 & @Poppy9991 great news for you both, wish you happy healthy pregnancies

I am sorry @IVFGotThis05 I really pray it works for you next time ❤

@Alexm06 test again on your test date I know with my dd I didn't test positive early, fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞

IE00 · 16/05/2022 07:35

@LouiseD2018 thank you! Really pleased. I noticed you kept testing after the BFP. How often and when did you stop? I wondered if I should or just leave it, I'm not sure what would give me more piece of mind. My clinic doesn't give scans until 7 weeks, which is even longer than the TWW 😣

LouiseD2018 · 16/05/2022 07:51

@IE00 I did it whenever I felt anxious really, I recognised from a previous ectopic it took a long time to go dark so I done it until I was happy with the darkness. There was usually 2-3 days between them. Then I done a digital, I got a 2-3 between 4-5 weeks, and a 3+ at around 5.5 weeks. I haven't tested since then, but I guess if I started feeling I was having a miscarriage I might try. My 2nd digital was when I started spotting. I'm still spotting but trying to refrain from testing.

I joined the Jan 2023 board under pregnancy a lot of people retested but it has caused quite a bit of panic when tests appear lighter or digital doesn't move up.

If you can avoid it I would, but if your anxiety is so high and testing provides a little peace of mind it might occasionally help

IE00 · 16/05/2022 07:55

@LouiseD2018 thanks this is very helpful. I think so much depends on the concentration of your urine though right? I often get up to pee in the middle of the night so that might throw it off. I definitely won't do a digital one as I really wouldn't want that level of information, for me it would just cause me more anxiety. Hmm yes I think I'll refrain for now. Sorry to hear you are still spotting. As I mentioned, for my first, I had brown spotting throughout until I stopped using the pessaries. But yes it causes massive anxiety. But you've seen a heartbeat! I know when I saw one it felt like a major step forward.

ChristmasJumpers · 18/05/2022 10:31

72 follicles
25 eggs
7 fertilised
1 little fighter in the freezer 🥰

One more could make it to blast by tomorrow but I'm so so relieved we've got our one 🤞🤞🤞

IE00 · 18/05/2022 10:57

@ChristmasJumpers yay I'm so happy for you! See it's not over until it's over. Fingers crossed for your transfer xxx

Poppy9991 · 18/05/2022 11:42

@ChristmasJumpers really happy for you! Stay positive!!!

LouiseD2018 · 18/05/2022 18:12

Great news @ChristmasJumpers ❤🌈

IVFGotThis05 · 24/05/2022 16:22

@ChristmasJumpers Congratulations on 1 in the freezer! Do you have any idea when you will end up doing the FET ?

How is everyone ? When are the 7 weeks scans for the positive ladies ?

ChristmasJumpers · 24/05/2022 19:26

@IVFGotThis05 thank you 😊
After the relief, reality hit and I'm realising that it all comes down to this one little embryo... no pressure!!!

No idea yet when we'll transfer. It's a bit annoying really as I am in a Facebook chat with others who went through egg collection at the same time and are prepping for their FETs following a withdrawal bleed this week. I don't even have a consultation to discuss next steps until the 3rd June 🙄

We've just had our final ivf scan, they were going to discharge us at 6 weeks but the lovely sonographer booked us in for a repeat scan because of the spotting, now measuring 8wks 3 days due 4th Jan, what a rollercoaster this has been 😊❤️ baby is laying face down in scan photo, I've pasted a screenshot of the video which shows the shape more clearly. At the 6 week scan you can see it was just a little bean the same length as the yolk sac, amazing difference in 2 weeks!

@LouiseD2018 congratulations! Wow it is looking like a fetus now! I've got my scan next Monday, the wait is agonising. Wishing you a happy pregnancy @LouiseD2018 . Hope you're not feeling too unwell.
