Sorry if there's already an April/May thread, I can't find it!

All of our tests have been completed (last August) and we were advised to call the clinic on day one of my cycle in April. AF arrived early for the first time in forever so I chanced ringing yesterday and we're good to go!!

Just waiting on a call back from the clinic with official dates and protocol but I know I'll be taking Norethisterone pills first so won't be dealing with injections for a good few weeks yet.

Is anyone else about to get started? It would be great to have some buddies along the way Smile

I'm 30, DH 27. TTC over 3 years and delayed getting tests due to Covid.
We're at Care Fertility Chester and this is out first ever round (we only get one NHS funded - thanks postcode lottery)

Finally got my call. So out the 19 collected 13 ended up being mature and 8 have fertilised. Have booked me in for a day 5 transfer on Monday. I hate it when they take so long to call but I'm happy with those numbers hopefully get some more to freeze!

IE00 · 05/05/2022 12:58

@Alexm06 oh that's great news! Lots of eggs there - well done

ChristmasJumpers · 05/05/2022 20:35

@Alexm06 great numbers! I'm so pleased for you 😊 fingers crossed those embabies all decide to go the full 5 days

Day 5 scan for me today, I finally get to find out my follicle count. I'm a little nervous but really eager to get an idea of what's going on as I've really gone into stims clueless.
It's also my first day of Fyremadel which I've heard can hurt so it's nerves all round today!

IE00 · 06/05/2022 13:34

@ChristmasJumpers good luck with the scan! Hope those follicles are growing 🤗

ChristmasJumpers · 06/05/2022 13:35

@IE00 thank you! 4 follicles over 10mm on the right and 11 on the left. Lots at 8mm so they've booked me back in for Monday to keep an eye on them. I think that's good news?!

That's great news @ChristmasJumpers !!

Yes I would say good numbers & good sizes!

LouiseD2018 · 06/05/2022 18:07

@Alexm06 great news, I hope your little embabies are growing well and your transfer goes well on monday

IE00 · 06/05/2022 22:33

@ChristmasJumpers that's great! A good haul there.

I'm currently awake because my husband won't stop snoring 🙄

Poppy9991 · 06/05/2022 22:41

@Alexm06 see?? I was sure it was going to be alright! enjoy the weekend and good luck for Monday!

@ChristmasJumpers Good number of follicles there! Hope the Fyremadel injection went well. I didn’t mind with it really. I actually preferred it as they were pre-filled so not stressing about tiny bubbles forming in my menopur syringes.

@IVFGotThis05 wasn’t your ET planned today? I hope all went well!!

@IE00 How is the wait going? For now I’m fine and trying not to think about it too much… But I can’t help and sometimes feel it’s all very odd I must say. There was for sure a fertilised embryo introduced in my womb but yet, no guarantee to be pregnant. All of this sometimes feels really odd.

@LouiseD2018 Hope all is going well on your side! Everyday brings you closer to your scan you must be quite eager to get there!

IE00 · 07/05/2022 09:19

@Poppy9991 waiting is going okay thanks. I went out for dinner last night and now off to a weekend away with my sisters, trying to keep busy and staying hopeful. I won't be testing early so I've got another week to go! Sending you positive vibes.

Yes @IVFGotThis05 how did the transfer go?

ChristmasJumpers · 07/05/2022 09:28

@Poppy9991 I think I'm starting to prefer them now too, just stick it in and go! 😂 I'm feeling better about the whole thing now I know I actually have some follicles growing too.

It's really hard to keep up with who's stimming, had egg collection or in the tww! I think we're all still in this for now though aren't we?

Poppy9991 · 07/05/2022 11:43

@ChristmasJumpers I know right? Don’t you feel you could be a nurse now ha!

@IE00 Also don’t necessarily want to test early but don’t know if I’ll manage.

Do you know how some ladies manage to know about a chemical pregnancy? I was wondering that as a chemical is usually 4-5 weeks max. After that isn’t it a proper MC? So does it mean that they’ve been testing early using one of these early test, had a positive and then a negative on actual test day?

IVFGotThis05 · 07/05/2022 12:07

@IE00 @Poppy9991 yes it was yesterday! All went well just the usual discomfort ! And they were a little delayed so just had me a little anxious ! Now just joining yous on the tww journey now ! When are your test days ? Mines Sunday 15th as my clinic do 9 day test.

I have a quick question too... Prior to transfer I was swimming twice a week and gym run twice a week for a solid 6 weeks... I know I'm not allowed to lift anything in 2ww so I won't gym but so you think it would still be okay to go on long walks ? I'm thinking about walking to mother in laws it's not too far but just wondered what yous thought since it was only transfer day yesterday ?

IE00 · 07/05/2022 12:41

@Poppy9991 chemicals are anything before 5 weeks but they could show up during the TWW, hence why they say test at the end. You can use FRER to test early, they can find a positive as early as I think 7dp5dt.

@IVFGotThis05 so glad it went well! We have the same test day. Fingers crossed for you, @Poppy9991 and me. Regarding the gym, I would do whatever you feel is comfortable. My clinic didn't advise anything about the gym, just don't do anything you usually wouldn't do. Think, your little embryo has survived a whole lot from extraction, growing, freezing and thawing. A little gym sesh is hardly going to do anything. I personally don't go to the gym but I will continue to go about my usual business.

Poppy9991 · 07/05/2022 19:05

Hi @IVFGotThis05 I read in lots of websites that the first 24h you should avoid strenuous exercise of weight lifting. Walks are absolutely fine I think (but I’m no doctor). You seem extremely fit anyway so I don’t think a walk would qualify as strenuous exercise. If it removes your stress then even better. I think don’t do very heavy sessions where you end up all sweaty and unable to breathe. But I think people recommend walk or soft yoga for sure!
As for me I’m a couch potato at the moment, I do a bit of yoga and walks but that’s it.
Don’t overthink it.

@IE00 @IVFGotThis05 Test day is the same for all of us then! I really hope it’s good news for all!!

IVFGotThis05 · 09/05/2022 16:42

@IE00 @Poppy9991 .. I'm interested to know whether either of you are early testers!? I did it on my first round and haven't done it since! But I'm still always a little bit tempted ! Just 6 more days to go 😅

IE00 · 09/05/2022 16:57

@IVFGotThis05 I did my last round too and it just gave me more anxiety. So I think I'll be waiting until OTD on Sunday. Especially as I have a lunch planned on Saturday so don't want to spoil it. But I'll see closer to the time! How about you?

IE00 · 09/05/2022 18:57

I've just read you can tell pregnancy before a test by your cervix. Oh dear need to stay away from the internet. Cervix will be high and soft if pregnant? Wish I knew what my cervix was like on a normal day?!

Alexm06 · 10/05/2022 10:41

@IE00 yes I have seen this before but like you I would have no idea what mine would be like haha.

IVFGotThis05 · 10/05/2022 11:57

@IE00 I'm going to try and hold out, it just made me sadder every day so I'm gonna just stick with Sunday ! I need to order some FRER actually!

I wouldn't be able to tell by my cervix, apparently mine hides 😅

Poppy9991 · 10/05/2022 12:54

@Alexm06 how did your transfer go? Wasn’t it yesterday? I hope all went well!
@ChristmasJumpers how far along are you in the stims? almost EC for you isn’t it?

@IE00 this cervix thing is interesting but I could never tell as well. @Alexm06 your cervix hides? I found that funny as if you were playing hide and seek with it haha!

I am struggling with the wait if I’m honest. I’d rather know now, positive or negative as I feel my hopes are building up… and it’s going to be even more difficult if it’s a negative on Sunday. Really don’t know what to do, but it’s already 7dpt5d. If anything maybe testing on day 9 rather than 11 as lots of clinic do.

Good luck everyone!

ChristmasJumpers · 10/05/2022 12:59

@Poppy9991 I'm on day 9 of stims now, had a scan yesterday and she actually gasped at how many follicles she could see! Over 40 on each side but lots of them are staying under 10mm so far so I'm hoping it won't cause OHSS. Scan tomorrow morning and I have been warned that I'm highly likely to need a none HCg trigger and a freeze all.
None of my follies had reached 15mm yesterday so may not be told to trigger tomorrow, I suppose I'll have to wait and see!

I wouldn't have a clue when it comes to cervix changes 😂

I think I'll set myself 9 days to test too, if some clinics recommend it then it must be long enough

OP posts:
IE00 · 10/05/2022 13:15

@Poppy9991 the wait is the worst. But oddly I'm quite happy this time being PUPO. Because last time I tested early and my dreams were crushed. Also I felt there were so many ups and downs with early testers lines becoming fainter, I don't think I've got the stomach. But I do see where you are coming from.

Also to @ChristmasJumpers

IE00 · 10/05/2022 13:16

Sorry sent that too soon.

@ChristmasJumpers how are you getting on?

Also @Alexm06 and @IVFGotThis05 after doing more research it looks like the cervix thing isn't certain as the cervix takes a while to move higher for some people. Back to just waiting 😶
