@Bryterlayter1 @Bluehawaii29 thanks for the reassurance. I tell myself this too, that everyone has different experiences and there is no right or wrong. I'd much rather not feel sick but I'm craving that sickness just so I can feel different 😂 it's crazy when you think about it. I do feel queasy when I'm hungry but that's all.
How far are you @Bryterlayter1? Do you have any scans coming up?

As for work @Bluehawaii29 I'm still working FT in the hospital. Always on my feet from the minute I step through the door but it's also a good distraction. I have this week off on annual leave so now I have no distractions!

@xreadytoglow oh wow you’re so brave to keep going in to the hospital. I’m so scared of getting covid at this stage that I’ve tried to extend remote working as much as possible. Asked for another 2 weeks today and waiting on approval for that now x

@Bluehawaii29 I'm a radiographer so I have no choice. Can't do X-rays from home unfortunately 😂
I am in a low risk department though. I've been pulled out of things like A&E and theatres since I started treatment. It just means my job isn't as exciting anymore but if it keeps me and little olive safe then that's all that matters.

Glad you've been able to do remote working. Definitely takes a worry off for you.

@xreadytoglow I'm 5 weeks today, so scan in 2 weeks time. Apart from sore boobs and tiredness I have no symptoms. I suppose I should feel lucky. I think the whole IVF process makes you feel uneasy. Plus I'm old (41) this was our last round and we have no frozen embryos (also same -sex couple so no happy accidents), stakes feel really high.

@Bryterlayter1 I hope this is it for you. I can imagine how you feel that the stakes are high. Everything crossed that it all works out 🤞🏼 I'm also feeling tired with sore boobs.

@xreadytoglow aww yeah that’s really good you are keeping busy and I’m sure it’ll be fine. Just told one of my close patients I’m pregnant and she was so happy. Was so nice to chat to her and made me feel better x

@Bluehawaii29 when I was pregnant with my son I didn't have the first scan till 8 weeks. It was more of a wait but it means there's a much shorter wait for the 12 week scan and the odds if there is a heartbeat at 8 weeks are really positive so overall it was fine. Hope the waiting isn't driving you too mad.

@womaninkent aww that’s good to know :) yeah I’d much rather wait for a scan further along than one too early and inconclusive. And you’re right that next scan is then not that far away. Just got back from a walk with my partner and dog, was nice to go to the park and get fresh air. How are you getting on? xx

@Bluehawaii29 I'm doing ok. 9 weeks. Nausea getting a bit better but totally exhausted. Getting nervous about my 12 week scan. Glad you're doing well.

@womaninkent aww I’m glad the nausea is improving for you at least. I am sure you will be ok and continue to be ok as the scans keep coming 🤞🤞 xx

Interestingly a patient who is 11 weeks pregnant was asking me about wha the midwife told her. Apparently she said pregnacare didn’t have enough vitamin D in it and due to her age of 35 and Asian ethnicity that she need me vitD 1000 units a day otc. This was without even doing a blood test to check her levels. I was wondering what others think about this as I am not too keen on taking extra on top of pregnacare in case of danger of toxicity which is also going to be bad

@Bluehawaii29 it makes sense! I think they just want to be absolutely sure. I got a private one booked for 6 weeks and a bit and they said there’s a chance that I may not see everything but then I’ll still have my hospital one later on (they still haven’t confirmed the date for my scan!). I’m hoping I really see something to reassure me everything is going ok.

I’ve bought the cheap ones too. I took one tonight and as soon as it started absorbing, the test line came up immediately. I’ve not seen it show up so quickly plus it wasn’t even a FMU!!!

You’re lucky you can work from home! I moved to a new job in Jan and the new company states, I have to go in at least 3 times a week and if I got important meetings with the CEO etc. I have to then go in on those days too. I went in 4 days last week and it’s looking like it’s 4 days this week 😫 I miss my old work place, I spoke to my ex colleague and they are all still WFH. Totally jealous!!! I don’t mind the office too much but it’s the commute that really gets me. Oh well! It was my choice😅

@Millymillymillymillymilly that’s good you managed to get an early scan for reassurance. Your job sounds quite stressful, hopefully it calms down a bit for you X yeah I love how the test strips literally turn as soon as the urine hits it, takes the pressure off when you see that line straight away. I’ve currently got really bad gas pains this evening after dinner. Don’t know how people go out and walk around with this kind of trapped gas. I been eating so clean and still end up with gas!

Trying to keep active . I feel loads better going to the gym. I normally go first thing but I felt a bit sick and wouldn't go on an empty stomach so I go a bit later on. But that seems to have passed now

@Bluehawaii29 The gas! I feel like a walking woopy cushion! I used to tell my husband off for farting and now I literally have no grounds now to ever tell him off! It’s soooo bad! i’m thinking the pessaries contributes to that tho!

@Millymillymillymillymilly lol tell me about it, I try and go toilet like 2 times a day and still the gas builds so much by evening. Very uncomfortable!
@Justawannabemam heyy good to hear from you oh wow that’s really good you are going to the gym, I might try and do a bit of light walking on treadmill but at the moment my mother in law is freaked out even if I just go the park 😂 good luck for your scan on Friday! Bet you are excited to see them again xx

@Bluehawaii29 yeh hoping those little 2 have grown it makes me feel so much better and I know its better for me in the long run . I'll hve plenty of time to sit on my arse in a few months.

@Justawannabemam excellent news that you are going in for another scan on Friday. You must be super excited! I can't believe you are gymming it! That's so impressive. I am thinking of joining some prenatal pregnancy classes so that I can stay active. I haven't managed to do anything other than walking as I wasn't sure about the exercise advised by my clinic. Healthy mum, health babies!

Is anyone injecting still? I'm still on 3 injections a day and taking thyroid tablets and steroids! They are throwing everything at this pregnancy. I feel like a pin cushion!

@W1ngingit wow that’s a lot of meds. I though I had it bad. I’m doing Lubion injections still for another 7 weeks

@W1ngingit @Bluehawaii29 I'm still doing lubion 2 a day . Sometimes the thought of it makes me feel sick

@w1ngingit yep still injecting lubion twice a day. Clinic's likes to keep the progesterone levels high.

2 pessaries, Lubion once a day and oestrogen tabs 4 a day here. Sometimes I try and think did I take it or not and confuse the hell out of myself

@W1ngingit I'm meeting my consultant next week I'm thinking my body may be rejecting embryos like foreign bodies and have read that people are prescribed steroids for this. Is that why you're on steroids? When did you have to start taking them?
