My allergies have gone through the roof since yesterday eve. Been getting burning prickly itchy rashes which keep coming and going over arms, chest and tummy. Had a tickly throat towards afternoon today as well and stuffy nose. Not sure what’s going on. I’m day 4 today

Justawannabemam · 08/03/2022 20:22

@Bluehawaii29 have you done a covid test ?

Jennie154 · 08/03/2022 20:45

Has anyone here had experience of using Menopur and Gonal f on different cycles

Gigi89x · 08/03/2022 21:04

@Bluehawaii29 have you spoken to your clinic?

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 21:13

@Justawannabemam yeah covid test definitely negative, checked it this eve
@Gigi89x yeah I called them yesterday and emailed the consultant too who said since it’s mild and disappears on its own it doesn’t sound worrying and allergies not associated with any negative effect on cycle outcome. But it does sound like something has got my immune system in overdrive. I held my dog against my skin on right arm and straight after a rash came up so looks like I’m allergic to him too now

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 21:17

It looks like this when it comes up and then can go down within 10-15 mins with calamine lotion or E45 cream. Very itchy over my breasts as well. Been getting a lot of heat type rashes over them too but I don’t use any hot water bottle and avoided hot baths etc

@Bluehawaii29 - are you only on Lubion & cyclogest now? Did you change anything diet wise?

@Jennie154 do you mean those 2 used together?

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 21:23

@Gigi89x been on Lubion since Monday and apart from that plaster rash I got on Thursday didn’t have any eruptions like this during the week. The eruptions have been happening since yesterday eve, calmed down in the morning and then been on and off this afternoon onwards. Never had this with my fresh cycle and was on progesterone then too so is very strange

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 21:23

*since last Monday I mean

Gigi89x · 08/03/2022 21:26

@Bluehawaii29 thats strange it didn't happen last time on your fresh cycle. I hope you feel better soon, sounds uncomfortable 😞

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 21:30

@Gigi89x thanks I think I’ll probably get an early night today, have been waking up quite early in the mornings due to needing toilet and doing pessaries so probably could do with more sleep

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 21:51

@Gigi89x being a GP I’m interested in rashes and I think I’ve found out what ive got:
dermnetnz.org/topics/autoimmune-progesterone-dermatitis

It’s called autoimmune progesterone dermatitis. It can be exacerbated by the gradually increasing progesterone levels, it could be that the level has shot in the last couple of days. I might need to ask for another blood test to see if I still need the Lubion

Overlyanxious · 08/03/2022 22:03

@Bluehawaii29 that does not sound fun at all. Your diagnosis does sound right though due to all the progesterone

Gigi89x · 08/03/2022 22:09

@Bluehawaii29 that sounds like a good idea, it must be handy being a GP 😆

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 22:18

@Gigi89x haha it’s both a blessing and a curse! I’ve told consultant now my thoughts on it so going to see what she thinks. If it’s a choice between dropping the pessaries and Lubion I’d rather drop the pessaries but going to make sure decision is based on a blood test first

Gigi89x · 08/03/2022 22:22

@Bluehawaii29 does your clinic allow you to email the consultant direct? Handy if thats the case without having to just liaise with the admin teams like i do!

Bluehawaii29 · 08/03/2022 22:29

@Gigi89x it’s just one consultant who has been there for me throughout, she actually did my egg collection on fresh cycle and transfer for this cycle just by coincidence and referred me quick when I needed my polyp surgery. I think she treats me more like a colleague so gave me her email which I’m so grateful for and try not to hassle her unless it’s urgent!

Gigi89x · 08/03/2022 22:37

@Bluehawaii29 thats useful! & great to have the same consultant who knows your situation on both cycles
