@Overlyanxious thank you, feel a bit better after talking to a nice nurse who said they will definitely go over everything with me properly tomorrow and it might even be my fave consultant doing the transfer 🤞 she did my egg collection for the first round and just really admire this lady. She’s always been so supportive and kind through this whole journey so far x

LBalf · 03/03/2022 19:56

@ty1982 it was first test- I've been told by my clinic to take another at the weekend for my own peace of mind but now panicking lol

@xreadytoglow aw thanks for asking- I have my heartbeat scan booked for the 24th. At first I was, WHAT! I'll be 7+5 by then. But I've had a think since and at least I'll have a definitive answer by then.

Also I have second betas on Monday so I'll have a much better idea how it's all going after those two numbers. Fingers crossed they're reasonable for 13dp5dt and 18dp5dt

xreadytoglow · 03/03/2022 20:45

@LBalf oh how exciting to have a date! Yes at least you will be able to see everything then 😊 everything crossed for more great numbers!

Tomorrow is my OTD so I should get my scan date too. Hoping it can be before Mothers Day (I'd be exactly 7 weeks the day before) so we have the option of surprising them depending on how we're feeling and how the scan goes.

LBalf · 03/03/2022 21:43

@xreadytoglow its going to be an emotional time for all the BFPs - I expect we'll all be getting the scans around the same time.

I'm trying to keep positive- I have three weeks might as well spend them enjoying life rather than dreading it. I'll be heartbroken either way if it doesn't work. l've been through this enough to know that expecting it doesn't make it hurt less.

xreadytoglow · 03/03/2022 22:01

@LBalf definitely. I'm going to try to enjoy these next few weeks too and not get in my head about it. Keep us updated with your betas.

Bluehawaii29 · 04/03/2022 08:16

The day has finally arrived for transfer 💕 seems a bit surreal at the moment. OH couldn’t get the day off as was a last min change to the date and They made him work but said he can take his work phone with him so thankfully we are still going together. Excited to face time him while in the room this time. Also praying the progesterone is ok. What time do you think I should start filling up bladder for a 2.30pm transfer?

Overlyanxious · 04/03/2022 08:22

@Bluehawaii29 oh it's all very exciting. I had the pain of having to wait another half hour and drink more water on transfer day. I drunk from the hour before but there was a bit of walking involved to the clinic so maybe some sweated out Confused mine was at 9am so I didn't really have much time to hydrate before either

Overlyanxious · 04/03/2022 08:27

@Bluehawaii29 and fingers crossed on the progesterone

LuckyNovember · 04/03/2022 08:45

Good luck @Bluehawaii29 ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Empty your bladder and start drinking 2 hours before, then stop drinking 20 minutes before... you might not need to drink as much as you think; I had 3 cups of green tea and it was perfect, so probably about 750ml (even though I had to wait an extra 20 minutes and the nurse offered that I could "go a little bit" if I needed to 😂 no chance I was taking that kind of risk!)

Bluehawaii29 · 04/03/2022 08:53

@LuckyNovember @Overlyanxious thanks guys! Good tip about emptying it before filling up again so I’m thinking because we have to leave home at 1pm I’ll just empty it properly after lunch and then keep sipping on water in the car and then like you said don’t drink 20mins before. Will let you know how it goes xx

Gigi89x · 04/03/2022 09:19

@Bluehawaii29 good luck for today!!!

When i went into my transfer, the consultant straight away said i did not drink enough water! Although on the transfer instructions they gave me it said to drink 300ml - i thought that seemed little so i actually drank more than that. He managed to do it but with more difficulty! Annoyed me as i had drunk more than what they said!

xreadytoglow · 04/03/2022 09:19

Wishing you the best of luck today @Bluehawaii29 ! I hope everything goes well. I drank a litre around an hour before but I was bursting for the loo during it 😂 enjoy your day x

Bluehawaii29 · 04/03/2022 09:39

@Gigi89x @xreadytoglow thank you ❤️ Last time I had to let a bit out just before the procedure but luckily still seemed to be enough in there. I guess there is no easy way to do it but I know I’ll be kicking myself if I under fill. Still another 3 hrs to kill before we go. Just been meditating and going to do a bit of gaming in bit 😂

womaninkent · 04/03/2022 10:45

Good luck @Bluehawaii29. I completely messed up the bladder filling on my last transfer but they still managed to do the transfer. Im sure it will be fine.

Gigi89x · 04/03/2022 10:49

Another thing thats really annoying me is Lubion! 😆

It took me a good few days to get used to it with the changing of needle heads and the fact its really stiff to inject! I keep getting a blob of the fluid come out of my stomach when i pull the needle out. I do hold the needle in place after injecting to let the liquid go. But it still happens. Anyone know how to stop this?

Bluehawaii29 · 04/03/2022 11:21

@Gigi89x the same thing happens to me. I think that’s meant to happen. It’s a blend which shows it’s been administered correctly. Mine stings a lot too and feels bruised at injection site for about a day each time so have to keep changing sides
@womaninkent thank you ❤️

Bluehawaii29 · 04/03/2022 11:29

*bleb not blend lol

Eggbert83 · 04/03/2022 12:15

Hi all, I was briefly on the previous thread and then dipped out as we didn't have much going on. From what I can see there has been lots of BFPs since then! Delighted for everyone! So sorry for those who have faced more disappointment. Its so bloody tough. Wishing you lots of strength.

We had first cycle in Jan whereby my follicles were super low to mature and in the end from 8 follicles we got only 3 mature eggs and only one fertilised. I was devastated and wrote it off as a failed cycle but it then went on to a 4AA blast and as I wasn't able to proceed to fresh transfer due to hormone levels and we had to freeze we decided to do pgt-a. We just learned this week our one little embryo has tested chromosally normal! Feel incredibly lucky but we have decided to do a second egg collection so we aren't pinning all our hopes on this little one, and so we may have the option for a sib later as we can never ever conceive without ivf as nature has basically given my partner a vasectomy. Anyway I'm wittering on but just wanted to know how people got on with Gonal F? I was on Menopur only last time and overall just felt my body didn't like it. It didn't get a huge reaction from my follicles and I hated the smell and was quite nauseous. Our consultant felt that gonal f is just as suitable for me and was happy to prescribe that, and I will be down regging this time from day 21 with a nasal spray. Having our healthy little frostie is of huge comfort and I hope I won't be so worried this time, but still want it to go well. We are self funding and at this stage, as we had to also fund sperm retrieval, are already out 20k so that's on my mind a lot this time around. Thanks all (if you're still reading!)

Gigi89x · 04/03/2022 12:44

@Bluehawaii29 - i had the same issue with the bruising from lubion. Until i started keeping the ice pack on for longer - im also careful now not to push the plunger too hard because i think that made the needle bruise me. Its been better since!

@Eggbert83 i had a combination of Menopur and Ovaleap for my cycle. I retrieved 11 eggs.
I agree the smell of Menopur is very strong! Its great the hear you have a great high quality embryo, well done! They say quality rather than quantity 😊 are you doing the frozen transfer next or another fresh?

IVFGotThis05 · 04/03/2022 12:51

Good luck today @Bluehawaii29 ! :)

I'm on day 5 after transfer day! I've felt really good the last couple of days, in quite a positive mood which is strange since the 2ww is usually dreadful! No signs or symptoms but I'm not letting that get me overthinking ! Anyone in the 2ww hope your doing okay :)

xreadytoglow · 04/03/2022 12:54

@Eggbert83 hi 👋🏼 great news about your blast!

I used Gonal-F and had no issues at all. No bruising or stinging afterwards. It was my easiest one actually. I got 13 eggs, 12 mature. But we're all different so I don't know if that helps. Good luck with it all!

@IVFGotThis05 yay for day 5! Not long to go. Glad you are feeling positive 😊

Bluehawaii29 · 04/03/2022 12:55

@IVFGotThis05 thank you! Hope I can stay as calm as you in the 2WW. Will be joining you in a few hrs hopefully 🤞🤞 just leaving home now xx

Overlyanxious · 04/03/2022 13:08

@Eggbert83 that's great to hear about your good quality egg.

@IVFGotThis05 well done on keeping calm. I've been stressing the whole time and I don't think it's been particularly helpful.

Eggbert83 · 04/03/2022 14:21

@Overlyanxious, thank you x

@Gigi89x Thanks. Wow 11 eggs, I'd be delighted with that. I did have 12 potentials but left ovary seems to be lazy...and stubborn!
I think we'd feel more confident heading into a fresh transfer now as we're more assured re egg/sperm quality but we have actually asked if instead we can have our frozen embie popped in at that point. Obvs a consideration is that it's been tested so has a very high likelihood of success, but almost more so I've developed quite the attachment to it (!!) and feel that because it's already beaten the odds after such a crappy cycle it needs - no deserves - to have its shot! Ha ha

@xreadytoglow Thanks for that, good to hear someone else had gonal f because I have great faith in our consultant and his decisions but couldn't help google and people often seem to favour menopur or a combo. I did notice though that a lot of articles about menopur are by the pharmaceutical company themselves though! Our consultant seems to feel they are much of a muchness. I read back and saw you have had wonderful success so I'll now have you in my head as the Gonal F ambassador, which will help me keep the faith!! Would love if this retrieval goes well so we can move onto transfers and a different chapter without having to revisit IVF in the future. Did you end up with spare embryos to freeze?

LBalf · 04/03/2022 14:44

Hi everyone, I got my first beta back and on 13dp5dt the level was 36. Pretty sure this is way lower than it should be but not counting myself out yet. Might still be time for it to double a few times before Mondays test.

I'm a bit bummed to be honest. Would have loved this one to work out. It's been a long time trying and were running really low on funds. I've had three miscarriages before and two chemicals so this isn't new territory unfortunately.
