@TTCinmy40s is this your first ivf? I can see how the expectation for ET can build to this exciting thing, as it's such a milestone! But my 2 previous ETs were just so clinical. You wait around having to pee, then go into the room with lots of drs, nurses, etc with your business end hanging off the end of the table. The horrible speculum, and then the scan images are kind of neat while they put back the embryo(s). I think some others have said they still felt the magic, but not me. No worries, I'm ok with that. Please take it easy-- and congrats, you are PUPO!!! Feel the magic now :-)

crazycatlady1981 · 07/02/2022 16:36

@Sydney1986x great news on embryos!

@Bluebonnet3 really hope those embryos keep on growing!! Fingers crossed!! Will you get an update again tomorrow?

@TTCinmy40s sorry that you didn’t have the best experience at your transfer today but good to hear that you are officially PUPO!!
Fingers crossed for the TWW!

@StillTrying10000 we had sex the night before FET but not after the transfer. We didn’t get a positive, but wanted to try it out just in case and I’d read the same about semen helping with implantation!

@CharlieBalf have you tried drinking pomegranate juice before? It’s supposed to help with lining! Worth a shot if you’re struggling!

@Justawannabemam @NaomiNatNat @thislittlebird so good to hear your scans went well!! Lots of ECs happening this week!
😀

@lucymills1234 hope the EC went well today!

I’m on day 6 of stims, switched from ovaleap to menopur today and managed to stab myself in the finger with the large mixing needle this morning!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ First and hopefully last stims scan will be on Friday!

WhiteLily86 · 07/02/2022 16:49

Wow what a lot I have missed taking a break from my phone over the weekend!!

Some great news on super Saturday for you ladies, congratulations!! I hope you are both feeling well and taking it easy!

@Justawannabemam @NaomiNatNat @thislittlebird I am joining you all for EC this week. @Justawannabemam I think we are on same schedule - I am now confirmed for Wednesday after scan today. All looking good, but I find it hard to listen to all the figures and numbers. I think there are about 12 follicles at the right size. They said they need 3 over the size (I think was 16mm, can't remember!). Now trying to manage my own expectations that it doesn't always mean lots of good quality eggs.

Had a tough weekend with (what they told me today at scan) was a hormonal migraine. Never had a migraine before, but they say it came on from the drugs. I nearly lost complete vision in one eye - full kaleidoscope of blurred vision, horrible. Went to bed and DH called doc and they told me to reduce dose of FSH last night. Panicked it meant that something was wrong and that this was all for nothing, but alas good positive update from scan.

Any coping strategies for EC from those who have been through it? I will be awake throughout unfortunately and have a slight fear of theatre type environments (after a traumatic emergency section with my ds) 😳

Cayandsimit · 07/02/2022 17:06

@bluebonnet3 pretty good numbers! They will probably turn into blastocyst by tomorrow. Good luck 🤞

@ttcinmy40s I can understand how you feel. We all try to make such a horrendous process magical to ease the pain. But in the end it is what it is... Like Bluebonnet3 said, there is no magic in ET. In my first round the doctor wanted to give me a print out of the scan after the transfer to make it a bit emotional at least and the machine run out of paper. The notification message popped up while she was printing and it completely blocked the picture of the embryos 🤣 I now have a weird ultrasound picture in my ICSI folder, saying "Error: Please replace the paper" in German 🤣🤣🤣

Enjoy being PUPO! I hope you will get pregnant this round and have healthy babies 🙏❤️

Justawannabemam · 07/02/2022 17:10

Thanks everyone .

Got my trigger shot to do tonight at 11 pm ! Christ I'll have to stop up passed 9. Haha or set my alarm..

I spoke to the nurse about my numbers and she said they are all good she showed me it on a chart so I felt really good about it all. In hindsight last cycle was so rushed I was on a lower dose with fewer foliciles and collected early so whilst it might have been a bit of a faff driving all that way in the long run it is better.

TTCinmy40s · 07/02/2022 17:25

Thanks @Bluebonnet3 @crazycatlady1981 and @Cayandsimit , yeah I was hoping for a special moment. At least for the nurse not to be talking to me about her daughter's divorce while my little embryos were going in! Starting to see the funny side...

Bluebonnet also hoping your blasts continue to grow over the next few days

Xx

LetstalkaboutBruno · 07/02/2022 19:06

Hey! Does anyone mind if I join? I had my embryo transfer today, so I am in need of some buddies for the next few weeks!

Mancbear88 · 07/02/2022 19:14

Hi everyone
I’m new to the thread. I had my fifth transfer today so fingers crossed. Three of the previous four have been positives but ended in miscarriage, so a long way to go before I can relax.
But feeling positive and calm currently. Test day is 20th February. Just going to try and keep busy.

@CharlieBalf I have major issues with my lining my first two transfers were 6.7mm and 6.9mm. After two weeks this time on double dose, patches and pessaries my lining was 4.7mm 4 days later it was 8.5mm.

My recommendations would be hot water bottles with castor oil packs, ideally with your legs up for an hour a day (pre transfer), pomegranate juice, extra vitamin e and royal jelly. If you can bear it beetroot juice but it’s horrendous! Also ask to try extra oestrogen, patches, pessaries or double tablets. I’ve got more supplements I can recommend if you’re interested, no idea which ones work and which are pointless!

Bluehawaii29 · 07/02/2022 19:46

Hi guys I’ve had a hard day today with starting the cycle so abruptly and period coming so unexpectedly, was feeling dizzy at work, then just came home to find out a cousin the same age as me has announced on Instagram she’s expecting her third child in June and that she has completed her family. Her caption was ‘oops we did it again’ with the baby boy reveal and everything on the video. Just feel so hopeless that we don’t even know if we’ll have one child. All just seems in vain, did the first injection just now and brought back bad memories of that failed cycle. Sorry to go on but not sure what to do

Coops0406 · 07/02/2022 19:46

Just saw this thread now and no idea why I didn't see the tag (thank you @Dobcaty )

I need to catch up on here!!! Hope everyone is okay 🥰

We had some amazing news on Friday, after we had written off the last cycle. One of the only 2 embryos that were at the right stage for the PGT-A has come back as euploid and happily frozen with the other 2 from our 2nd cycle! So unexpected, we are amazed! So we have 3 good euploids now frozen 😊 Onto dummy run FET on my next cycle with the womb biopsies 🤞🏾

Mochii · 07/02/2022 19:50

@Bluehawaii29 horrible timing for you to see an announcement like that. Also the caption isn’t funny at all!

Cayandsimit · 07/02/2022 20:10

@Bluehawaii29 It is really bad timing. It feels so unfair, isn't it? While we are going through such hardship for one kid, others can have the 3rd just like that...
Please try to ignore the social media for a couple of weeks, take care of yourself and focus on your cycle. Sending you virtual hugs 💕

Bluehawaii29 · 07/02/2022 20:22

@Mochii @Cayandsimit thank you for your replies. Yeah it was just bad timing I think but people like don’t even realise probably that there are people going through infertility. They never think to censor their pregnancy announcements. She asked me one time last year are we thinking of having kids and I just said maybe one day, that question really gets to me because we have to pretend like we haven’t really thought about it when we’ve actually been desperately trying for years! even my dog knows I’m upset today. He’s just fallen asleep in my arms and not leaving my side. I’m just glad day 1 is over now and I think I will just have to hide that persons posts again x

Mochii · 07/02/2022 20:26

I can’t stand that question either. I just tell people I have problems with fertility to make them feel awkward, although half the time they don’t!

Yognog1 · 07/02/2022 20:29

Had my scan today. Right ovary 15 follicles all growing well (although he hasn’t told me the actual sizes) am I meant to ask for that? I thought he’d just tell me, I’m so new to all of this.
Left ovary 3 very small follicles, thanks endo Hmm.
He’s also said I need to do a freeze all as he thinks I’m at risk of OHSS, I stupidly didn’t ask why, I will on Wednesday but does anyone know why this might be?
Hope everyone has had a good day, and good look to all the EC’s this week.

Yognog1 · 07/02/2022 20:32

@Bluehawaii29 that’s really crap, hope you’re ok! Social media is the absolute worst for those kind of things Flowers

Yognog1 · 07/02/2022 20:33

*good luck (brain fog)

thislittlebird · 07/02/2022 20:38

@Yognog1 high follicle count puts you at higher risk of overstimulation. My clinic has a threshold of 20 follicles and I have 19 (although 7 are small) which is really annoying me because I’d prefer to play it safe and sound have a freeze all. Weird how different the clinics are, I wish mine would offer that.

Cayandsimit · 07/02/2022 20:38

@Bluehawaii29 I never understand why people ask such questions. Also you don't have to be an Einstein to comprehend that a perfectly happy & financially stable couple probably having difficulties to conceive. So don't ask 🙄
Dogs are definitely more compassionate than some people...

Mochii · 07/02/2022 20:40

@Yognog1 if you have too many responsive follicles it will increase your risk of IVF. I had it on my first cycle, they decided to go ahead and it got much worse when I did the trigger and continued when I was pregnant. When they thought I might get it I thought it was ridiculous and I was gutted at the thought of delaying. It suddenly got very bad and by then it was too late and I had to stay in hospital in the height of covid which wasn’t ideal. It is very very painful so try and avoid it if you can! I think it’s pretty common

Questions2 · 07/02/2022 20:43

Hi all,
Embryo transfer scheduled for Wednesday FET. First transfer and looking for tips. I've read to eat pineapple but can't seem to find how much and when? Also fluffy socks? Fingers crossed for everyone! X

thislittlebird · 07/02/2022 20:43

@Mochii did you have symptoms pre trigger? I’m very concerned about getting it and annoyed I’m a follicle away from their threshold. And they decided today to give me ovitrelle instead of buserelin.

Cayandsimit · 07/02/2022 20:47

@yognog1 +15 eggs at the EC & very high estrogen level put you in high risk for OHSS. I had 14 eggs and still got moderate OHSS...
Having 6-7 large eggs (18-22 mm) might also cause that. I would ask the follicle sizes next time.
Have a lot of protein for a couple of days after the EC, make sure you urinate and defecate regularly and if you have any trouble in breathing go to the hospital. I wish you good luck and no OHSS 🍀🤞

womaninkent · 07/02/2022 20:49

@Bluehawaii29 that's so rubbish. I'm really sorry. I know it's so hard but you are doing a beautiful positive thing for you and your partner. Take care of yourself.

Cayandsimit · 07/02/2022 20:54

@yognog1 do you have PCOS? PCOS is in high risk group.
I second what Mochii said. It is really painful and you cannot eat or drink because you feel like there is no space in your belly even for your internal organs. The free liquid in abdominal area is horrible 😢 And it gets worse if you get pregnant and stays for weeks...
I was so sad that I had to delay the transfer for two months but now I am looking back and it was definitely the right decision.
