Anyone else here on Letrozole or Clomid for ovulation induction?

I'm on my 2nd cycle of Letrozole and looking for others in a similar situation.

Info about me:
26 y.o
Been TTC for just over 2 years.
Dosage: 5mg of Letrozole on days 3-7.
Diagnoses: Male factor (0% morphology), low AMH, low progesterone

I'm currently on CD10 and using OPKs to track for ovulation. I'll be taking a blood test on 7dpo to check if I ovulated.

Hi @acaciabluebell yes I was testing it out. These are front his morning and after work. Bottom one is this morning. I am still not sure it isn’t the trigger. I guess time will tell. Excuse the filthy nail. I was stripping wallpaper while waiting. How are you doing?

@Hopefull1981 what DPO are you today? I'm sure the trigger should leave by a certain point, though I'm not sure when that is.

Apologies @acaciabluebell I just seen your update. I know when I had day 21 bloods my progesterone was is the 18 range. These were some before my first consultation. I was so worried about it. When the consultant did the scan she confirmed ovulation was happening. She said she wouldn’t trust the blood results as she didn’t see if I was ovulating in that cycle. I may have ovulated earlier or later and the OPK’s are not reliable for me as I can have 3 days of blazing positives. I have attached a pic. Have you been scanned around ovulation to check the follicles etc?

@acaciabluebell I am 10 days DPO - 12 days post trigger. I am trying not get my hopes but it’s so hard. I am going to do another one now, been holding for 4 hours l. It’ll probably be negative. I have no other tests in the house or I would be doing them all.

Marvellouslymadmum · 18/01/2022 23:16

@acaciabluebell it could be that you're ovulating but either it's a mild ovulation or you just have low progesterone, maybe you can get someone to prescribe you some?

@Hopefull1981 🤞🏻 for you!!

Hopefull1981 · 19/01/2022 12:47

Hey Ladies, I really don't want to get my hopes up. I did these at lunch. (POAS addict now) 2 days ago the digital said 'not pregnant'. 13 days post trigger, 11 days DPO.

@Hopefull1981 I think you are pregnant…

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/01/2022 14:03

@Hopefull1981 they're looking good! If you were getting negatives before I'd say the trigger is gone, did you test previously with any of these brands? As I know they all have different levels of sensitivity

Hopefull1981 · 19/01/2022 14:13

@Marvellouslymadmum I was using the Fermometer tests to test it out of my system. They went from blazing positive to negative. I also used a digital test the day before yesterday, and it said 'not pregnant'. TI didn't use FRER as my period is not due until Friday/Saturday, but I had a barely visible pink line the night before last night on a conceive plus test. I believe it has the same sensitivity as the FRER.

@Hopefull1981 it definitely looks positive for you! I asked because I know the clearblue digitals aren't very sensitive, I'd say if you have one test with a Femometer one and you'll have your definite answer!

Hopefull1981 · 19/01/2022 18:29

Thanks @Marvellouslymadmum I contacted the clinic. The consultant rang and said great news, she never commented on the trigger. I am to double the dose of progesterone from tomorrow until week (fingers crossed I get that far) and retest on Sunday morning.

Marvellouslymadmum · 19/01/2022 19:17

@Hopefull1981 amazing! Tentative congratulations!! 🤞🏻 for a sticky one.

I wish everyone got the same on these cycles, I had nothing other than the clomid, no trigger, no progesterone nothing!

Hopefull1981 · 19/01/2022 21:03

I hear ya. It’s mad how different consultants have different approaches. I live in Ireland. We wouldn’t have been able to access public services so went private thinking it was going to be crazy money. 1 medicated cycle with scans is €200 and the meds including cyclogest are €100.

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/01/2022 09:01

@Hopefull1981 that's actually not bad, a friend of mine was private and each medicated cycle was £500-£700 here!

Hopefull1981 · 20/01/2022 09:24

@Marvellouslymadmum that’s crazy. We have a scheme here that you will never spend more than €100 on meds in a month.

Hopefull1981 · 20/01/2022 11:33

How is everyone else getting on?

xoJellyBean · 21/01/2022 11:45

@Hopefull1981 congrats 🤞🏻

acaciabluebell · 21/01/2022 14:35

@Hopefull1981 Congratulations!!

I'm CD6, on 5mg of Letrozole again this month.

@Marvellouslymadmum I'm the same, no trigger no progesterone nothing 😑

@acaciabluebell still not believing it. My GP took blood today abs will do it again on Monday and Wednesday to check the HCG levels. It’s gonna be a long weekend. AF is due tomorrow and still feel like she is coming. Still have decent lines on the tests but they don’t seem to be getting darker. Clear blue is though. I need to get it out of my head.

Could you have a private follicle Scan to check your ovulation?

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/01/2022 17:13

@Hopefull1981 oh that's good! Maybe I should move 🤔😂

@acaciabluebell we are on the basic plan lol

I'm 10dpo today and symptom spotting like crazy when I don't usually! 🤦🏼‍♀️

WaitingForEgg · 21/01/2022 20:20

@Hopefull1981 so much crossed for you

I had an initial scan today as CD2. All good to start letrozole tomorrow for 5 days.
Have another scan next Friday to monitor follicles. Have to do opk from day 10 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’m not having bloods
It seems consultants very a bit in approach
My cycles are costing £320 for the scans and £150 for the meds per cycle 😬

Are you nhs England?

Hopefull1981 · 21/01/2022 20:36

@WaitingForEgg no I am in Ireland, no NHS. We went private as we would not qualify got the limited publicly available resources here. Even the private clinics here have huge wait times. Our health insurance is very geared toward providing funding for fertility treatments but only twice in a lifetime.

Hopefull1981 · 22/01/2022 19:16

Hey ladies. How are you all? AF hasn’t shown up today which is positive. My test lines are not getting darker at all. Fearing it may be another chemical. Official test date is tomorrow morning. Dreading seeing the line if I am honest.

acaciabluebell · 22/01/2022 21:34

@Hopefull1981 I'm sorry hun. Will you be having a blood test to confirm? Sometimes tests are not super accurate if it's early on, and AF has not arrived yet which is good. Are you taking progesterone?
