TTC with Letrozole/Clomid

Anyone else here on Letrozole or Clomid for ovulation induction?

I'm on my 2nd cycle of Letrozole and looking for others in a similar situation.

Info about me:
26 y.o
Been TTC for just over 2 years.
Dosage: 5mg of Letrozole on days 3-7.
Diagnoses: Male factor (0% morphology), low AMH, low progesterone

I'm currently on CD10 and using OPKs to track for ovulation. I'll be taking a blood test on 7dpo to check if I ovulated.

Do I did the trigger this am, now waiting not so patiently. This 2am is going to be hellish isn’t it

I keep worrying 38 hours is too long to go post trigger… can’t you ovulate within 24?

Hi @WaitingForEgg. I felt the same. I triggered on a Thursday and DTD 2 days before the 12- 24-36 post the trigger. I read that somewhere but can’t find it. You triggered this morning? Would you consider dtd tonight and tomorrow night?

@Hopefull1981 we decided to dtd last night and will again tonight.
I was just worried that if I ovulated at say 34 hours even we would miss it completely

@Hopefull1981 when you do all the scans and injections etc you just feel so invested in the cycle don’t you. Logically I know the chances of this working are still slim, but I know I’m going to find it harder than a normal month to get my period… then my DH keeps saying think positive… but that’s pretty hard when you have been trying a long time isn’t it

@WaitingForEgg I know the timing is very important but you are doing everything you can. It is just up to the universe now. So don't be hard on yourself. Also it would be better not to stress your husband so he won't get performance anxiety 🤐
Try to take it easy for next 7-10 days and hopefully it will work. You have two big follicles which means you have higher chances. Rooting for you ❤️

How is everyone?

@waitingforegg I am strangely more optimistic this time... Started progesterone on Friday evening and heparin injections yesterday. I will go to the clinic tomorrow to get my progesterone and estrogen tested. Otherwise trying to get mentally prepared for the ET on Wednesday. Took Wed-Fri off from work to relax.

How are you doing? Did everything go well like you planned?

In the end I did the trigger shot Thursday am
We dtd wed night, Thurs night, Friday about 5pm and again before bed. A few issues with stage fright but we did manage each time.

Started progesterone pesseries yesterday
I don’t get ovulation pain I don’t think, well I never get pain in my sides. But I did get generalised bloating and cramping

I decided to do a cheapo preg test last night, as I know trigger can cause positives, so wanted to see how positive it was to see when it goes if that makes sense. Test was very negative. No idea if this matters or I should be worried?

@WaitingForEgg It is great that you managed to do it 4 times 🎉
I wouldn't worry about the trigger. I injected at 2pm on Wed. Afterwards tested everyday and today was almost nothing left. Also if you tested with evening urine, it is more diluted than morning urine, so it can show negative.
We will be almost in the same timeline for the pregnancy test I think. Hopefully we both get good news in two weeks 😊

@Cayandsimit I’ve been told to test on the 18th… when are you testing?

@WaitingForEgg I think they will ask me go to the clinic for a blood test on 21st or 22nd. They don't recommend to test at home in Germany.

Just catching up, glad to hear everything is going well so far. I'm around 6dpo, getting my blood test for progesterone tomorrow and then expecting my period is approximately 1 week.

I feel weirdly hopeful for this cycle, but then again we only managed to DTD once during my FW (peak OPK day) as my husband was working nights. I hope that will be enough.

@acaciabluebell really it should only take once. I keep trying to tell myself when everything else aligns that should be the case. Cycles that don’t work are multi factorial, that’s what in trying to tell myself anyway!

@WaitingForEgg sounds like you covered all bases for DTD. I never get ovulation pains and CM is hit and miss. Keeping everything crossed for you. Did you get a HCG trigger?

@acaciabluebell it only takes one time.. well that’s what was drilled into us in our teens and 20’s.

I am off for my follicle scan.hopefully everything is in order after last month. My OPK’s have been giving strong readings since day 8 but nothing positive.

Not ready to trigger here. Lining is 6mm but has some fluid on it but she isn’t worried about that as it could just be a signovulation is coming. I have 43 follicles but the biggest is 10mm. It’s cycle day 13 for me. I’ll go back later in the week to check again. Oh the joys.

I have a smear test tomorrow as I need the all clear if we are to move onto IVF straight away. Got my calendar for next month in the post along with a 3 month prescription for the pill.

@hopefull1981 I think follicles grow much faster in the last few days before the ovulation. Lining as well. I went to the clinic three days in a row and lining measurements were 6.4, 7.4 and 8.4 mm respectively. So don't loose hope 🙌
How long is your cycle normally?

@Cayandsimit my cycle is fine. Clinic called there and said to come back in on Friday. It will be cycle day 17. Naturally I would ovulate on day 17/18 based on OPK’s. We should still DTD during the week. We’ll see what happens.

@Hopefull1981 I hope everything goes well this week. Maybe try to take some time off on Wednesday or Thursday if you can or do a short day. I found it really useful for me and especially for my DH when we were trying naturally before the ICSI.

I am was feeling a bit down this morning but now back on the "hope train" again 😊 The clinic called. My progesterone level is really good. I will continue with 1 pessary + 1 injection per day. This was one of my biggest worries but thankfully it wasn't as I expected. So, pretty optimistic with the ET on Wednesday. Hopefully this embryo is the ONE 🙏🍀
