@2mumlife thank you for the advice makes a lot of sense will remember that next time I feel like testing 🙂

Kamiros · 11/03/2022 10:56

So I got one egg today, much what I was expecting and better than none. Fingers crossed it fertilises and grows now. They're now recommending a fresh transfer as womb lining etc looks good.

HJen22 · 11/03/2022 11:22

@Kamiros I have everything crossed 🤞🏻❤️ as everyone always says, it only takes one. How was EC and how are you feeling? That's great your womb is looking good too! I hope you are getting rest for the remainder of the day xx

2mumlife · 11/03/2022 11:48

@Hopewishprayer It took me so long before I realised testing early was never good. Also, the only time I DIDN'T test early, we got our proper BFP so I now think not testing early is lucky 🤞🏻

@Kamiros Hope you're feeling ok after egg collection. Will you do a day 3 transfer then? Hoping you get good news that egg has fertilised today 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Wee update for us. Not sure if I've said before, but we've been looking at options for a sibling in the future. I'm done with egg collections - done 2, and I respond really poorly, so DP got an AMH test 4 weeks ago, which has come back as high AMH for her age (shes 37 this year). So its looking like a definite possibility that she can take over as egg producer Grin. Need to book in a consultation appointment next to find out a bit more about doing shared motherhood (DP has no desire to be pregnant, so we'd be looking at me carrying her embryo) and whether its a sensible decision to go ahead and create embryos now for the future. Seems utterly insane to be possibly starting this process again already, but also seems sensible given DPs age?

@2mumlife that's exciting! And I think good to be proactive and start the chats about it. Great that your DP has a high AMH and can be the next egg producer too.

I think its normal to be thinking ahead; given how long we TTC and we know the waiting xxx

LT103 · 11/03/2022 17:37

@Kamiros fingers crossed for you!! When will they call again? Great that womb looking good for transfer

Kamiros · 11/03/2022 18:15

Thanks all. EC was fine actually, I've pretty much slept since though. It'll be a day 5 transfer assuming it gets that far.

@2mumlife That sounds exciting and it definitely makes sense to do it sooner rather than later.

HJen22 · 11/03/2022 18:41

@Kamiros I'm so glad it went ok! And that you're rested since.

We had our second monitoring scan this morning and booked in Monday first thing for egg collection! So stims tonight and tomorrow lunch then trigger tomorrow night at 9.30pm. Im feeling a lot calmer about it that I had previously felt. Hopefully I can stay that way and not be too nervous come Monday x

Kamiros · 11/03/2022 18:49

@HJen22 That's great news. It really is over before you know it. Best of luck for it.

Kamiros · 12/03/2022 09:40

Good news for me this morning - egg fertilised. 😁

HJen22 · 12/03/2022 10:52

@Kamiros that is the BEST news I'm over the moon for you! That egg is a good strong one!!! You must be so happy pleased. When will you hear from them again? X

HJen22 · 12/03/2022 10:53

Happy and pleased*

Kamiros · 12/03/2022 11:08

@HJen22 Monday afternoon so I'm just going to try and relax today and tomorrow.

LouScot · 12/03/2022 11:24

@Kamiros good news! Hope you manage to relax over the weekend x

HJen22 · 12/03/2022 11:24

@Kamiros Monday will be here before you know it. Hope you've some things to keep your mind busy over the weekend and some nice food x

2mumlife · 12/03/2022 14:45

@HJen22 Oooo best of luck for egg collection on Monday! How exciting! Yeah, we don't want it to be another 2 year TTC process the next time around! Its just a little tough I think, as I feel a bit like its almost 'writing off' the 2 embryos we have banked from me (both really low grade). Obviously its a huge expense putting DP through an egg collection if 1 of those 2 frozen embryos is viable and would work. But also there is just no way of knowing (we've not had them genetically tested) and with DP being older, and with wanting to try to make the process quicker when we are ready for a sibling, it kind of makes sense. Also, with the price of everything at the moment, I imainge its only going to get more expensive to do it in the future! We managed to book in a consultation on the 29th so will chat it through with consultant and see what next steps are. We're quite conscious of trying to do an egg collection sooner rather than later, as I'd feel a bit weird/insensitive accompanying her going into GCRM for the egg collection with a visible bump Confused

@Kamiros Great to hear wee egg fertilised. Keeping everything crossed for next update for you

Hopewishprayer · 12/03/2022 14:52

@Kamiros keeping everything crossed for you 🤞

I am 9dp3dt and this morning had a wee bit cramp and have dull ache like period about to begin 😕 I know they say progesterone can cause this but been using that for 12 days now and this is the first I’ve had this.
Anyone else had this with a positive outcome? Really trying to hold out until OTD

HJen22 · 12/03/2022 18:33

@2mumlife thanks so much ❤️ I am excited, I was so scared about not getting to EC. I'm enjoying my relatively good mood before the stress of next week starts.

A question - I haven't drank any alcohol at all in 6 and a half months. Has anyone had a small drink between egg collection and transfer? I'm not entirely sure I want to (and if I did it would be a small one!) but was just wondering if anyone had or had had any Dr advice. Not sure if I could handle the guilt afterwards after abstaining for so long!

I think it's really sensible to be thinking about, and if you have the funds and time right now then why not? There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to make the most of the chances you have currently, by doing another round of egg collection.

@Hopewishprayer everything crossed for you! When is OTD?

HJen22 · 12/03/2022 18:38

Sorry one more question for you ladies, do you get Covid tested again for ET or just before EC? I've had my Covid swab for Monday yesterday and I've been isolating for 3 weeks already and of course will continue to between now and Monday. But do I need to isolate between Monday and fingers crossed a transfer? X

Kamiros · 14/03/2022 16:57

So we have an embryo - apparently dividing well and quality is good. I didn't ask about how many cells etc as then I start googling. If all well tomorrow then transfer is Wed.

@HJen22 How did you get on today?

HJen22 · 14/03/2022 17:03

@Kamiros that's fab news! I'm so glad to hear your embryo is doing well!

Oh we had a total drama and it's been rescheduled for tomorrow first thing. Long story but we had an incident with trigger, loads didn't go in, we had to call the emergency number and go in to the clinic yesterday. Had to do another ovulation suppressant jab at lunchtime and then a new trigger last night. I think it's the most stressed and panicked the both of us have ever been!

The Dr had said if I'd had 20+ follicles they could have attempted EC Monday but with so little it was the best option to wait. I was too scared, and am still too scared to google. The Dr was lovely and didn't seem panicked - but I guess it's their job not to. There is never any given with number of eggs collected so hopefully it won't have had a detrimental effect. We won't know. X

Kamiros · 14/03/2022 17:09

@HJen22 Oh I'm so sorry you had to go through that, its stressful enough. Good news if the doctor isn't concerned though. Fingers crossed for you for tomorrow.

HJen22 · 14/03/2022 17:27

@Kamiros thank you x if he was worried he didn't show it. He'd said on the phone on Saturday we might just have to move it to the next day. Didn't stop us unbelievably panicking though that we'd ruining the entire cycle. I'm glad we didn't do EC today as I'd just have been a nervous wreck the eggs weren't ready if not enough trigger went in. I'd just gotten my head around the fear of the actual procedure too. I'm now more worried of the outcome but I was already worrying about that anyway!

Kamiros · 14/03/2022 17:33

@HJen22 You'll be fine with the procedure, I was terrified the first time but not too bad this time. Hard not to worry about it all. I'm now just wishing I'd taken more leave, I would have if I'd known it was going to be a fresh transfer.
