@Kamiros 🤍 Yeah, I’m feeling exactly the same. So bloated and mild cramp feel like I’m going to burst. Really hoping it’s a good sign for us 🤞🏻

Thank you so much for the info. Yeah, from my experience the NHS haven’t been very good when it comes to thyroid health. They ignored my symptoms jan this year and had to go to another doctor in the summer for bloods and found out that I was slightly over 5 TSH 😒. I would really like to be checked for the antibodies, T3 and T4 and would go private for that. Can you recommend the private Thyroid doctor in Edinburgh? Yeah, I’ve heard there still some unknowns with antibody treatments but of course it’s worth giving it a try 🤞🏻

Hope your symptoms ease up soon. xx💕

Kamiros · 06/12/2022 18:15

@Kitty12345678 Thanks, cramps have been pretty intense today, trying not to worry.

Yeah I'll PM you her details.

Kamiros · 13/12/2022 16:24

Hi all - hope everyone is well.

Unfortunately my last cycle was another BFN, 2nd with donor eggs - really not the magic solution they make it out to be is it. A bit down but DH I have booked to go on holiday next week, through Christmas. I think getting away for a bit will do us so much good. I probably won't be around for a bit so hope everyone has a great Christmas. x

LouScot · 13/12/2022 16:50

@Kamiros sorry to hear this, you've had a tough time of it. It sounds like getting away will be good, at least a change of scenery and a chance to warm your bones. Take care and look after yourself xx

LT103 · 13/12/2022 17:44

So sorry this cycle didn’t work @Kamiros. A break away sounds ideal and hopefully gives you both a chance to get away and relax

Kamiros · 13/12/2022 22:18

Thanks @LT103 and @LouScot. Onwards and upwards.

Hopewishprayer · 14/12/2022 08:37

@Kamiros sorry to hear your update, a holiday is always a good idea, I hope that you relay and enjoy.
we are getting started with DE in new year and will only do one round x

Kitty12345678 · 16/12/2022 09:11

@Kamiros So sorry to hear this. It’s the worst time of year. As you know from our PM I’m the same with a BFN on our first cycle. Please take care of yourself and have a lovely holiday. I might try and book something away too. xx

Kamiros · 16/12/2022 09:34

Thanks @Hopewishprayer and @Kitty12345678.

I hope you are doing okay @Kitty12345678. I'm fine, just planning to try and enjoy the holiday and rest of my break before thinking about transferring our remaining embryo. Would highly recommend going away. We've done it a few times after crap results and it makes me feel just normal for a bit. Take care x

Kitty12345678 · 17/12/2022 12:00

Hi everyone. Hope you are all well. I have a follow up call with GCRM on Monday to discuss the next steps with ICSI treatment. Does anyone have advice on what sorts of questions I should be asking about a failed cycle?

@Kamiros thanks I’ve booked something after Christmas x

HJen22 · 18/12/2022 20:29

@Kamiros I'm so sorry, absolutely saddened to read this. A holiday and some time out / away is such a good idea, really glad you and your DH can get away and have a nice Christmas together, a change of scenery can really make all the difference mentally. Have a lovely time and I am praying that all of your dreams come true in 2023 🫶🏻 xx

HJen22 · 18/12/2022 20:31

@Kitty12345678 also sorry to read about your BFN this cycle. Glad to see you're also going to get away after Christmas; if its ever needed it's after / during this difficult journey we are all on xx

LouScot · 18/12/2022 20:42

Hi all, I'm waiting for my period then I can get dates for next cycle. Not overly optimistic but it'll be what it will be. I could have started last cycle but it'd mean stimming over Christmas and to be honest I just want to forget about it if that makes sense. Like I don't forget ever, I obsess over and over, but I felt it'd be even more stressful. We'll need a new thread after 40 pages, let's hope that by the time the new one is finished we've all graduated from it as mum's 😍xx

HJen22 · 18/12/2022 21:37

@LouScot we are the same, if we'd went again it would have either been end November (if my period made the cut off - and I didn't want that stress of really needing it to arrive by a certain time) and I'd have missed some fun plans start of December, or we'd be starting likely between Christmas (I have short cycles) and new year. So we're doing my January into February cycle. I don't forget ever either and dying to get going again but the break does do some good, even if it does mean more waiting. I really hope 2023 brings us some good news 💕

Kitty12345678 · 26/12/2022 04:58

Hi everyone hope you had a nice Christmas. xx

Just have a QQ has anyone experienced delayed or no ovulation after an IVF cycle? i always get a positive Opk and ovulation symptoms around day 14 but I’ve had nothing yet. I’ve heard that all the hormones from IVF can delay or skip ovulation but wanted to know if anyone else had this.

Hope everyone has a lovely new year when it comes. xx

LouScot · 26/12/2022 09:08

Hi @Kitty12345678 yes, I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about. When was your IVF cycle? The bleed you have a couple of weeks after an unsuccessful one or a freeze all isn't a real period, and your next period can be quite a bit late depending on what drugs you took x

Ellenn · 28/12/2022 14:50

Hey everyone, hope you have had a lovely Christmas with family and friends 🎅

We had our frozen transfer a few weeks ago which we have been very lucky to get a positive test (although still feel early yet and worried it won’t last). My scan isn’t till 9 weeks at GRFC and wondering if I should get in contact with my GP/midwife before then or wait until after the scan incase it doesn’t stick around. Just realise we still have quite a way to go yet…. Would be interested in what other people think? I was hoping I could get a scan earlier tbh as feel very anxious about everything

Kamiros · 30/12/2022 10:40

Congrats @Ellenn I'd probably just get in touch with them now. When I miscarried at 6 weeks I'd already had a call with my midwife and had bloods done at GP. It did mean when things went wrong I was already registered with early pregnancy unit. Wishing you the best of luck with your pregnancy.

Hope everyone has had a good Christmas. We've had an email back from our clinic. They want to proceed with transferring our frozen embryo as soon as I'm ready. They think that implantation failure (4 times plus my mc) is down to immune issues and want to put my own a granocyte protocol. Its apparently a growth thing. Has anyone ever heard of this? I've only just started researching this but side effects seem to be quite severe (enlarged spleen being just one) and I just don't know what to do.

LouScot · 30/12/2022 11:44

Hi @Kamiros not heard of that at all. It's difficult to know what to do for the best isn't it? Do you have a good relationship with your GP? I know it's so hard to get an appointment lots of places, but I wonder if it might be worth discussing with them, and at least asking them to be aware of side effects??

Kamiros · 30/12/2022 11:49

@LouScot Not really, I'm still annoyed with them for giving really bad advice in relation to my thyroid issues- it's definitely worth a shot though. I've sent the info to Charlotte too, I'm hoping she'll have a contact that might have heard of it. I want this more than anything but enlarged spleen is a common side effect with rupture/removal possible- I'm not convinced about risking that to be honest.

LouScot · 30/12/2022 12:16

@Kamiros yeah, I don't blame you for being cautious, that doesn't sound like a minor risk. Do you feel you need to make a decision quickly? Sounds like it'd be worth taking some time to think things over.

As an aside, we're going to run out of space soon. There's been some lovely graduates from this thread and hopefully all of us over next thread too💕

Kamiros · 30/12/2022 12:21

@LouScot No I told them I was taking a break and I'd be in touch when I was ready so no pressure with it which is great. I want to try and get some of this steroid weight off before I go again though I'm not sure how easy it'll be. Oh yeah, we'll need to get a new one set up soon.

Ros456 · 12/01/2023 19:17

Hi, does anyone know the current timescales at the NHS clinic at Glasgow Royal infirmary? Was referred in August and have a telephone appointment in March. How long would it be till any physical appointments and how many would there be? I've had a private scan that showed a cyst which the consultant said would need removed before IVF could start. I'm wondering whether I should be considering private removal given how long anything takes on the NHS. But then that means spending the money saved for private IVF 😔so much stress

Wilbem · 06/02/2023 18:57

Hi all, just been referred to Aberdeen fertility clinic. Anyone got updated time frames for appointments?

Thanks

Kamiros · 07/02/2023 08:54

Hi @Wilbem and @ros456 - sorry I'm not sure about either GRI or Aberdeen. I'm having treatment in Spain now so am a little out of touch. Hopefully someone else will have an idea.

How is everyone else doing? We have an appointment with Spain today to plan next round.
