Today marks one year with our DC - our only embryo from our cycle with GRI. Thank you to everyone in this thread who helped me get through treatment and cope with the stress after 7 years of TTC. I really really hope that this is a good year for everyone. 💕

LT103 · 03/03/2023 20:22

How is everyone doing?

Hi, does anyone know the current timescales at the NHS clinic at Glasgow Royal infirmary? Was referred in August and have a telephone appointment in March. How long would it be till any physical appointments and how many would there be? I've had a private scan that showed a cyst which the consultant said would need removed before IVF could start. I'm wondering whether I should be considering private removal given how long anything takes on the NHS. But then that means spending the money saved for private IVF 😔so much stress

Our cycle was during covid, but we were referred for tests and only when we had the results were we added to the waiting list. Have you had all of the initial tests? Do you know how long the waiting list is to have the cyst removed? I had to have the same but fortunately it was just before covid.

itsmschanandlerbong · 05/03/2023 21:17

Hi everyone, I started the original thread a couple of years ago. I was very fortunate to have had a successful cycle, which was our second cycle after our first resulted in a chemical. We never had any to freeze. The main cause of our infertility is male factor, but I also have endometriosis and due to an operation on one of my ovaries, one side doesn't respond at all to stims. So although my AMH looks fine on paper, we need to factor that in too. With this in mind and the fact we're both getting older, we are planning on going for our sibling round sooner rather than later. So we have had the initial tests done again and have a consultation in 2 weeks time. Feeling a whole mix of emotions to be going through this again, but I am so aware of how fortunate we are that we were one of the lucky ones.

I hope everyone is doing OK.

It turns out it's fluid in the tube not a cyst so I'm having to go private for the procedure as I would be waiting 2 years on the NHS!

itsmschanandlerbong · 05/03/2023 21:38

@Ros456 agh that's so frustrating, covid has just messed everything up 😞 I suppose it's good it'll happen quicker though.

Kamiros · 06/03/2023 07:44

@scirocco That's gone fast. Lovely to hear though. ❤️

Hope everyone is well. I'm downregging for my 5th transfer (donor FET in Spain) in a couple of weeks. Failed transfers seem to be due to immunity issues so we're trying a granocyte protocol this time. I'm neither up nor down this round, no nerves or excitement, it'll be what it is but fingers crossed this is finally the one.

Hi all, just been referred to Aberdeen fertility clinic. Anyone got updated time frames for appointments?

Thanks

Hi there. I've been referred to Aberdeen recently, just last week. I've been in contact with the clinic and they said that after the referral is vetted (no timeframe here) they will send forms out to be completed by us and we have then 4 weeks to send them back, when received back will start a wait of 12 weeks for first appointment. This is all I know.

Wilbem · 06/03/2023 19:51

When our referral from GP went to the hospital they sent the questionnaire out to us within a week. It took ages to come in the post but as soon as they received that we got our first appointment through for 5 weeks later. Hope you get that too. Our appointment is now end of March.

Thank you that was indeed fast hope the same timing will be for us

LT103 · 07/03/2023 12:47

@Kamiros thats come around fast. Good luck with the transfer!!

itsmschanandlerbong · 07/03/2023 13:42

@Kamiros best of luck! I've heard lots of good things about going to Spain for treatment. My friend had a successful donor round in Alicante after difficulties here and low AMH.

Kamiros · 08/03/2023 08:25

Happy International Women's Day to some of the strongest women I sort of know! Wishing you love and strength today as every day. ❤️

Thanks @LT103 and @itsmschanandlerbong. My assistant emailed this morning to say she had everything ready for the big day and I did get a little excited so maybe I'm not totally emotionally dead with this yet.

LouScot · 13/03/2023 12:31

Hi all, hope you're well. I've been not reading for a while so just doing some catching up.

@Scirocco wow, that's lovely to hear, happy belated birthday to your wee one.
@Kamiros lots of luck for this transfer.

I'm hopefully going to start one last round next month or may, I'm struggling to afford it to be home but want to try again. Don't feel nearly as hopeful as I did last round but hopefully I can work on that x

Kamiros · 13/03/2023 13:09

Hi @LouScot. I've been thinking about you and hoping you were okay. We'll be getting to that stage financially if this next one doesn't work too, it's so difficult. Fingers crossed for your next one- might just be the one.

Kitty12345678 · 21/03/2023 11:51

Hi Everyone hope you are all well. I’ve not been on here for a while after my failed cycle in November/Dec. Ive spent the past three months taking better care of myself by going to therapy, exercising a lot and also planning our wedding.

We decided to go for a second round with ICIS at GCRM to help with our low fertilisation issue. This time I’ve needed a lot less stims only 8 days when I needed 13 last time. The nurse said my right ovary is more dominant this time, so could be reacting better to the stims. I have EC tomorrow and I’m quite nervous. Wanted to ask has anyone had spotting before EC. I’m terrified I’ve ovulated already but I called them and they said it’s nothing to worry about and they will do a scan before just incase to make sure they are still there. It’s super unlikely I have.

Just reading through the thread.

@Kamiros Happy international women’s day too. Good luck with your transfer in Spain🤞🏻im glad you have figured out the immune issue.

@louscot all the best of luck with your cycle next month or after. x

@itsmschanandlerbong
welcome back and good luck with number two!

@Ros456 I was referred to GRI in May 2022 and had my phone consultation/ put on the waiting list in November. Still not hear anything from them and I’m on my second round of private. Im not sure if I’m just unlucky with my postcode or something. Its worth phoning them up as they can sometimes tell you when it will likely be. They told us April time. If this cycle fails for us we may have one more with the NHS.

@LT103 hope everything is going well for you. X

Kamiros · 21/03/2023 15:08

Hi @Kitty12345678 Good to hear from you. I had spotting twice with egg collection. The first time was my second round where I didn't make it to egg collection. The second was round 3 where everything was just fine and I ended up with a lovely 4AA blast. They said sometimes it happens and doesn't mean anything so don't worry. They checked my lining to check if I'd need to freeze but I had 12mm so they went ahead. Obvs didn't work but that's unrelated. Best of luck x

Kitty12345678 · 22/03/2023 13:38

Had egg collection today and unfortunately it didn’t go as well as expected. Even though I had around 12 good sized follicles, I only got 4 eggs, one was immature and one abnormal. Really gutted as we had 9 the last time but we did have only one fertilise last time. The embryologist was fairly positive about quality of the two eggs we do have using the ICIS treatment but I’m not getting my hopes up. We get the call tomorrow to see if they are developing. I’ve taken the next week off work 😔

@Kamiros thanks for the update this made me feel a bit better about the spotting. I was worried that lost some before egg collection but we did a scan and they seemed to be fine. They measured my lining was 19mm thick today and no clue if that is bad or not.

Kamiros · 22/03/2023 13:47

@Kitty12345678 I'm so sorry it didn't go as well as you hoped but you could still end up with 2 really good blasts from that. 19 is really good, my clinic likes 10-12.

Kitty12345678 · 27/03/2023 15:50

@Kamiros you were right the two eggs somehow made it to blastocyst 5AA and 4AA ☺️ We transferred the 5AA this morning and put the other in the freezer. Still very surprised that the two that fertilised made it this far. Now tww 🤞🏻

Hopewishprayer · 27/03/2023 16:42

@Kitty12345678 what wonderful news 2 wee fighters!! Hope the 2 WW passes quickly for you x

LouScot · 27/03/2023 17:55

@Kitty12345678 that's excellent, good luck x

itsmschanandlerbong · 27/03/2023 20:43

@Kitty12345678 that's great, best of luck!
