@HJen22 amazing need. This is already a better experience for you than previous 2 rounds!! And you are doing 3 back to back yeah? So hopefully will get something in freezer from each round!!! Crossign everything for you! There next 5 days are so hard!!

@Kamiros 2 in freezer is great news and really hope one of these is the one!! It is annoying that you were consulted before they made their decision (had you already paid for donor sperm?) but like @HJen22 said you just have to trust the doctors have made the right decision. Really hope one of these is the one

We had a bit of spotting last weekend so ended up going for another private scan and all ok. Went to EPU on Monday for a speculum exam and spotting was just from cervix.

the worry doesn’t get any better. I’m still so anxious all the time!! Hoping after the nhs scan I can start to enjoy it a bit!!

Kitty12345678 · 19/11/2022 11:10

Hi Everyone, not been on here for a couple of months. Just practicing a lot of self care just now. Hope everyone is keeping well. Looks like there has been a lot happening on this thread recently, wishing everyone the best!

I decided to go ahead with my first cycle at GCRM this month, as the NHS is sadly taking a long time. Only just been put on the waiting list after being ref 5months ago and they estimate spring/summer before we could start with them.

At the moment I’m at the stims phase, my first scan looked really positive with about 15 follicles but my third scan yesterday looks like only 3 to 5 maybe mature enough for collection. I’m quite worried that they will cancel the cycle all together if they aren’t all over the line by Mondays scan. It’s quite upsetting as they had expected between 6-10 eggs not sure why stims is not really working well. Has anyone else had this issue and had their cycle cancelled? On the plus side my womb lining has a really good thickness.

Just trying to stay positive this weekend but finding it so hard to see family and friends, as I feel triggered easily.

HJen22 · 22/11/2022 17:24

One Day 3 8 cell grade 1 top quality embryo safely in the freezer 🥹❄️ The relief after the call, so many happy tears. Another 8 cell but grade 2 and 7 cell grade 1 were being left til Day 5 (tomorrow) but the embryologist was hopeful that as they were good quality they'd still be going strong and ready for the freezer too. Everything crossed but already this is a huge milestone we've finally got to ❤️

How is everyone doing?

@Kitty12345678 I hope you had some good news at your scan yesterday, they can grow quite a bit in a few days 🤞🏻 completely understand feeling triggered easily, i get that a lot too. Be kind to yourself and put yourself first, now is the time to be selfish, don't force yourself to do anything you don't feel comfortable with xxx

LT103 · 22/11/2022 20:39

@HJen22 amasing need. Crossing my fingers for those other 2 as well!! Are you going straight into a luteal phase cycle now? I know you’re doing 3 back to back but wasn’t sure if 3 straight cycles or if doing luteal phase? Amazing you have one perfect little embryo frozen already!!!! ❤️

LT103 · 22/11/2022 20:39

News not need

Kamiros · 22/11/2022 22:22

@HJen22 Aw I'm so pleased for you, that's fantastic news. Fingers crossed for the other two also.

One week until transfer for me now, quite excited this time round.

HJen22 · 22/11/2022 22:52

Thank you ladies so much ❤️

So yeah it's a full cycle up until period. We had already decided we weren't going to do another back to back as I want to enjoy the festivities. Going down to Manchester for 10 days is a lot and my cycles are quite short so we'd be back down so soon again. We might do December into January cycle depending when it comes; or wait another cycle. I am happy we fitted one in before the end of the year.

@Kamiros ah one week! That is exciting! When do you head over to spain? Xx

Kamiros · 22/11/2022 23:00

@HJen22 Yes definitely give yourself a break over Christmas. You might not be able to party next year fingers crossed.

We don't go out until next Monday evening this time- get there just after 8pm and leave 24 hours later. The last few times it's just felt like hanging around and I've just wanted to come home so we're not hanging around. Start injections tomorrow so it's feeling really real.

LT103 · 23/11/2022 07:20

@HJen22 that sounds like a perfect idea giving yourself a chance to enjoy Christmas before starting again. It takes a lot out of you!! So pleased you got a great result though!

@Kamiros how exciting. I didn’t realise it was so close!! Hope everything goes well!!!

HJen22 · 23/11/2022 12:32

@Kamiros good luck with injections today! And yes it will be nice to just get home and rest as soon as you can after! Wishing you all the very very best for this cycle 💕

Our remaining two embryos made it to blastocyst and of good enough quality to be frozen ❄️❄️ I am so overwhelmed and feeling incredibly lucky and grateful that 3 are in there safe and sound 🥹 I don't quite believe it!! I know the drop off rate is steep so not to have any expectations, I feel like I can go into next year more positive and with some hope x

LT103 · 23/11/2022 13:41

@HJen22 perfect news!!!!! So pleased for you

Kamiros · 23/11/2022 13:46

@HJen22 That's fantastic news, really excited for you. You can have such a nice relaxed Xmas now. Do they transfer them as 3 day embryos then? My clinic will only freeze from grade 4 blastocysts so I don't know much about 3 day embryos.

HJen22 · 23/11/2022 14:21

Thank you 💕💕

@Kamiros yes I am looking forward to a relaxed Christmas. I didn't enjoy the festivities last year at all really. I'm not really sure, I don't know if they froze a day3 because of the smaller number of eggs I had, or because it was of top quality. Or if they just always do that as standard. If I had more they maybe would have left them all to day five? I meant to ask but forgot. The day 3 was of top quality, but I'm not sure if higher than the best blastocyst. She did give me details on grading, but I will trust them and their knowledge regarding which ever was to be transferred. X

HJen22 · 23/11/2022 14:28

Just did some research, and it seems that that is the policy. Freeze one on day 3 and keep the others going. I just read someone else say that they've defrosted a day 3, the lab cultured it for two days and put it back on day five. The embryologist said to them if it didn't start growing again in the lab, it probably wouldn't have led to a viable pregnancy. I guess it is just the way that they do it at that clinic which to be honest put my mind a little at ease on day three xx

Kamiros · 23/11/2022 14:49

@HJen22 That's really interesting. I've only heard good things about them so I'd definitely trust them to do what's best for you.

HJen22 · 23/11/2022 14:53

@Kamiros but then I do know that lots of people have day 3 embryos where they thaw the embryo and it's transferred, not necessarily left for two days in the lab, which go on to successful pregnancies. I guess everyone is different and treated on a case-by-case basis. All very interesting, but totally confusing ha ha. The more reading I do the more confusing it gets x

Kamiros · 23/11/2022 15:04

@HJen22 I know. I find the balance between reading enough to advocate for yourself and not reading too much to stress yourself out really challenging. Right now I'm just enjoying the feeling the they're safe in the freezer as I'm sure you are too.

HJen22 · 23/11/2022 15:07

@Kamiros totally agree! I want to know more but sometimes in trying to do that, I end up with more questions. So I am going to forget about gradings and I am going to for sure as you say, enjoy the fact they are safely in the freezer ❄️

Kitty12345678 · 26/11/2022 10:02

@HJen22 Thanks for your reply. I’ve had a rollercoaster of ups and down. Everything went well with the scan on 4th and continued stims to day 14 before collection. We got 9 eggs much more than we expected!!. Until we got the call this morning to confirm only one had fertilised 😔. No reason why as all the eggs were mature/good quality and my partner sperm was completely normal. It’s so upsetting to go through all this to place all our hopes on one egg. We need a miracle. They suggested if we try again to do icsi as that may be more successful for us. We will get a phone call tomorrow to find out if our egg survives.

Glad to hear your is going well and you have some in the freezer 😀 I wish you the best on your next stage.

HJen22 · 26/11/2022 14:01

@Kitty12345678 I'm really sorry to hear your latest update 😞 the calls are the worst. I know what it's like to just have the one. I really hope that it's a strong one that continues to grow ❤️🤞🏻 it really does only take one.

Thank you so much ☺️ that's us now having a break until my January / February cycle and we've planned to hopefully do a transfer after cycle 2 xx

Kitty12345678 · 27/11/2022 12:09

Thanks 🙏 it’s true it only takes one. Had a call today with the embryologist and they said that one is doing really well. Just hoping it’s a fighter and makes to transfer 🤞🏻 They put me at ease a bit by saying everything was right in the process they just think there is problem at fertilisation and that ICSI may be our best chance if this one fails.

Hope you have a nice winter break before starting with the transfer 😊 If I do another cycle it will likely be around the same time as you. Are you at GCRM or another clinic?

HJen22 · 28/11/2022 18:56

@Kitty12345678 really glad to hear that your embryo is doing well ❤️ will you have another call tomorrow? Everything crossed!!

Yes just hoping to have a nice Christmas before we go ahead in mid January. We are with Create in Manchester now; they specialist in mild and natural IVF. I did do some research in GCRM but it would have just been conventional IVF again and I didn't respond well to that my previous two cycles xx

Kamiros · 29/11/2022 11:53

One gorgeous 5BB embryo on board! Just waiting in the clinic for my IVIG now, spent the morning on the clinic's sun terrace so its been a good day so far. Hope everyone well.

Hopewishprayer · 29/11/2022 12:44

@Kamiros great news! Hoping this is the one! 💕🤞🏻
