Morning all, hope everyone is ok.

can I ask for those who went NHS then private how long did it take for you to get oversight of your notes from the NHS clinic, I don’t hold out hope that this will be quick and we will probably end up paying for new tests to be done.

Thank you 😃

HJen22 · 03/10/2022 13:22

@Hastohappe I can help with this! I requested my notes from the clinic mid July. They then sent me consent forms to complete and I got the notes at the start of September. So I’d say about 6 weeks. How are things? We’ve decided to have a consultation with Create Fertility in Manchester. We drive down this Sunday, ultrasound Monday and then the video consultation on the Wednesday.

@LT103 congratulations 💕 that is such lovely news xxx

Hastohappe · 03/10/2022 13:55

Hi @HJen22 wow quite a long time isn’t it, you’d think for some notes that are already on their system it wouldn’t take so long eh 🤦🏼‍♀️

That’s great news, how you feeling about that? I’m doing ok thanks we are looking into GCRM in Glasgow for around, just all seems so daunting, was reading about what vitamins to take I’ve been on loads for months but we are thinking about stopping them all and taking Impryl and omega 3, they seem to get great results, but I can’t take the vitamins I was on with them so have to stop them, you just don’t know what to do for the best do you 🤯

HJen22 · 03/10/2022 14:40

@Hastohappe I know, you have to send forms of identification to prove who you are and the consents actually came from the Information Governance team at NHS Grampian rather than the clinic. So I guess they request them from the clinic after you complete the forms, I don’t think it’s the actual fertility clinic that send them to patients. Hope that makes sense!

I’m feeling ok, glad to be making a start at a plan. I have no idea what they will recommend or say so I have to be prepared I think. We’ve joined the donor list at Aberdeen as well. Oh I know it’s so so hard. I used to take loads and after the second failed cycle I stopped them all apart from vitamin D and folic acid. It cost me so much money taking an expensive omega3 and ubiquinol.

Have you had a chat with GCRM or a consultation lined up? Or still researching at the minute? Xx

Hastohappe · 03/10/2022 15:00

@HJen22 yeah that’s the email address I sent it to this morning so makes perfect sense.

Is it donor eggs/sperm you are going for? We know we have a male factor so may have to look at donor sperm but not doubt they will mention my age again! Your not kidding I just bought the Impryl my goodness it’s expensive but it has been proved to help so here goes!

We are registered with Glasgow they want our records sent over but 6 weeks is ages to wait for forms as they already have a 3 - 4 month waiting list to start treatment so we might just get the bloods etc done again as my GP has those results. Consultations dates now won’t happen until November so that’s already a months then a there’s Xmas, wish we had just went private to start with or be honest.

What a journey isn’t it it messes with your head

HJen22 · 03/10/2022 16:01

@Hastohappe I hope you get them back quickly! But yeah maybe worth getting some of the tests done with your GP. I’m likely going to have to get some redone when we do pick another clinic.

Donor eggs. I have low AMH and low ovarian reserve. That’s what the clinic recommended was next for us. So we will go on the NHS funded list and in the meantime try again own eggs privately.

Ugh I’m sorry, the waiting all through this journey is so hard. It feels like a constant wait for something, and then the next wait! Hopefully their waiting list goes faster than they predict. I have no idea what the waiting time is for Manchester but thought we’d have a consultation because they have protocols like natural and natural modified where they try and get quality over quantity with less stims medication. But they also do conventional IVF like we’ve done xx

LT103 · 03/10/2022 16:20

@HJen22 thank you!!! We’re 5 weeks today so still feels a long way off from where we can relax. I just keep thinking the same will happen again l as last time!!
glad you have a plan. It’s always good to have an idea of what is happening.

@Hastohappe were with gcrm and so far we’ve found them great and staff are lovely but I appreciate everyone has different experiences

Hastohappe · 03/10/2022 17:02

@HJen22 I think mine are ok I think it will be my other half that needs his tests redone, fingers crossed that’s the case and we don’t need heaps of new tests.

It’s the complete unknown isn’t it you just don’t want to leave any stone unturned but nothing happens very quickly. I think the natural sounds great and less emotionally draining be interesting too see how you get on 🙂

@LT103 it seems even when we get (not that I have had) BFP that there’s still a fear it’s a shame you aren’t able to relax in these early stages and it’s completely understandable why you can’t, is another 2 weeks then you get your scan?

We are just in the early stages with GCRM the admin Iady I spoke to this morning was lovely, it’s just the NHS records from AFC that are going to take 6 weeks so hoping to get an appointment booked in before that time.

J90A · 05/10/2022 15:32

Hello I wondered if anyone knows will I be Covid tested prior to FET transfer? X

Ellenn · 05/10/2022 21:45

@J90A I was told at Royal infirmary they only covid test prior to egg collection as requires sedation etc. not sure about other clinics though!

J90A · 05/10/2022 22:32

@Ellennn thank you so much. I've already had egg collection so doing a frozen transfer do you know if I will be tested for that? Also at RIE xx

Ellenn · 06/10/2022 06:47

@J90A they haven’t mentioned it to me 🤔 so I hope not! I’m hoping to do a transfer next month with them so we might be about the same time? My period is being awkward and not arriving though …

J90A · 06/10/2022 11:03

@Ellenn I'm this month next few weeks and started to feel unwell! Although my tests are negative so I think I'm ok. Is this your guest transfer? It's my first. X

J90A · 07/10/2022 18:42

Hello everyone. I had my FET monitoring scan today and lining was 6mm does is up by 1 tablet and got another scan a week today. I just wondered anyone else experiences with this it's my first transfer. Xx

Hastohappe · 08/10/2022 09:21

Good luck tomorrow @HJen22 😄

How you feeling @LT103?

Hope everyone else is doing well on their journeys 🙂

Ellenn · 11/10/2022 16:56

@J90A this is my first frozen transfer, I did have a fresh transfer after my ICSI cycle which ended in biochemical unfortunately. Sorry I don't have experience with the lining, how long have you been on oestrogen now? My period has finally arrived so waiting on them giving me a date for starting medication now, really hope they can fit me in!

mrsmacmc · 14/10/2022 19:59

waiting waiting waiting on November clicking round 😩 due to the DHEA I'm going to be sporting a full beard 🧔‍♀️ at this rate 🤦‍♀️

HJen22 · 16/10/2022 08:16

@Hastohappe thank you so much 😊 ultrasound scan went well, we liked the Dr and the clinic and they looked at all sorts of things. We then had a Dr follow up on Wednesday and a patient coordinator call. We're scheduled to go down again 27th for tests with treatment consultation 1st November with fingers crossed us starting next cycle 🤞🏻 I think we're going to do the 3
Cycles back to back. A lot to think about and it was quite a tough week but I'm feeling positive.

How is everyone else doing? Xx @LT103 @LouScot @Kamiros

HJen22 · 16/10/2022 08:17

And all you other lovely ladies, sorry hit post by accident before tagging x

Kamiros · 16/10/2022 09:47

@HJen22 Hi and thanks for checking in. Sorry I've not been around for a bit, had some work stuff to focus on and felt like I needed a break. I'll need to read through the thread and catch up properly but hope everyone is doing well.
We are due to go for transfer at end of November all going well. I think I said this but they're going to fertilise half the eggs with donor sperm and half from DH. We've decided to transfer the best quality embryo regardless of who it's from. They retested my thyroid antibodies and they've come way down from 700 to only 200 which is great but they want them under 50. This time as well as all the steroids etc. I've to get IVIG on the day of transfer then if I test positive more 3 and 6 weeks later. I'm struggling a little with all the effects of all the tablets and put on so much weight on the steroids which is not moving at all- so I feel quite down about that. Otherwise just keeping on keeping on. 🤍

LT103 · 16/10/2022 10:53

@HJen22 @Kamiros everything sounds really interesting. Glad there are plans in place for you!

i have my 7 week scan tomorrow and I’m terrified! Still have a lot of cramping and feeling nauseous over last week. No spotting this time at all which I’m taking as a good sign. Last transfer I bled every day for about a month. Just can’t relax until I see that scan, convinced it’s going to be the same as last time!

HJen22 · 16/10/2022 12:05

@Kamiros no need to apologise! Life can get very hectic, I am the same and haven't been on in a wee while and need to catch up!

Great that you have a plan and that your thyroid has come down, hopefully they come down further. I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with the meds and weight. I feel you, I've not managed to make any significant change to my weight (and kept it off) since we started IVF. It sucks doesn't it 😞 but we need to give ourselves some slack, it's a huge strain on us physically and mentally AND emotionally! I try to lose weight, get a bit off then put it all back on again. I had a massive meltdown midweek after feeling good after our two calls. The price gave me a big wake up I think! But we will give it a try!

@LT103 all the very best for your scan tomorrow ❤️ glad you've not had spotting and your symptoms sound like a good sign. it must be so hard not to worry especially after the last time but I am sending all the positivity your way and that this is your time 💕

LT103 · 17/10/2022 17:45

I can’t believe it. Baby is measuring perfectly at 7+1. Can see a heartbeat and can already see limb buds. I couldn’t stop crying

LouScot · 17/10/2022 18:20

Hi @HJen22 glad to hear you're quite positive about the new clinic (in Manchester?).

I'm kind of in limbo. I had a follow up last week after my cancelled cycle, and the Dr I spoke to was much more optimistic in that it wasn't a complete waste of time but said there wasn't anything they'd suggest doing differently drug wise. I'm almost 44 (very almost!) and single but what will be will be. I'm not ready to give up yet but equally don't have unlimited funds. I do still have hope though and that's important to me.

@LT103 congratulations! Delighted for you. I hope we'll hear your progress. It's always lovely to hear success stories.

In other news....I have turned my heating on! I'm not quite throwing caution to the wind and putting it on timer but have switched it on today to warm the house up!

Thinking of everyone x

Hastohappe · 17/10/2022 20:31

@HJen22, that’s so good, you sound really positive so glad it went so well 😄

@LT103 that’s amazing news so happy for you

@LouScot can I ask are you on mild cycles or high doses of stims?
