@LT103 Keeping everything crossed for Saturday! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 Just try to remain as calm as you can. Get on the Mindful IVF app if you can - I found that really useful.

@Kamiros How lovely! You can but send up positive thoughts to her. Has she already done the egg collection, or will she be doing that now? Its great they are taking thyroid thing seriously and it will help give you confidence :)

HJen22 · 19/05/2022 09:21

@Kamiros not long at all! So pleased for you! Did you have your big birthday party or is that still to come? Great that they are going to keep an eye on thyroid and put you on steroids if need be too. I hope that's a little weight off your mind!

@LT103 you've got this 💪🏻 I have everything crossed for you too!!! And yeah, it's best to try and stay off Dr google but so much easier said than done!! And as @2mumlife says, the mindful ivf app is really good. I'm back to doing it and enjoying the lovely Irish mans voice! Day 5 of norethisterone for me, another week to go.

Do you think I should call the clinic and say I had Covid in April? I know back in January the nurse said as long as I didn't have for EC it was fine. But do they still do a PCR before EC cos I know it can stay in your system for 90 days. I guess every clinic is different but just wondering if I should tell them now or just at baseline scan x

HJen22 · 19/05/2022 09:27

Answered my own question. Called and told the clinic and they said if 7 weeks clear I'm fine, which luckily I will be by then. I'm glad I called and didn't have a panic when I told them at baseline scan or anything. Honesty I always the best policy and they obv delay it for a reason x

2mumlife · 24/05/2022 08:40

@HJen22 Glad covid wont prevent you getting on with next cycle :)

OP posts:
HJen22 · 24/05/2022 09:26

@2mumlife I was actually a bit annoyed with the nurse on the phone. She implied like I'd kept it from them saying "honesty is the best policy" to me. No where anywhere does it say their process should you get Covid. And given I had it right after a failed cycle I wasn't to know. 7 weeks is literally just what I'll be at. They didn't ask exact dates or anything but if I'd found that out and not gotten to go ahead I'd have been so upset, even if it is for my own good. Told my counsellor all about it and the fact they don't have anything on their website (and every clinic is different in every way it seems!) and she's asked the manager what would happen if a possible positive pcr came back cos it's within 90 days and apparently can still stay in your system. I shouldn't have to be asking all these questions and worrying right before we start! X

LT103 · 24/05/2022 16:16

@HJen22 that is so annoying. My clinic have barely mentioned it. I get a text 48hrs before an appointment saying if I have symptoms to do a lat flow and if negative ok to go in but if positive to call them. But other than that, I have never been tested at either egg collection or transfer. It’s now just not mentioned, no one is asking. So I guess just relying on people being up front and saying if they had symptoms

HJen22 · 24/05/2022 16:21

@LT103 so annoying cos of course if I'd known they had an almost two month clear protocol I'd have told them right away, but nobody ever said anything to me. In one way I guess at least I wasn't really worried and trying to not catch Covid for the 7 weeks leading up to this cycle knowing I really couldn't catch it. Again I've been advised that only I will get a PCR prior to EC (this was the same in March, my OH didn't get tested but back before Xmas partners were also tested). I just think they should for sure be putting up information so people are aware. How are you and how is the TWW? Xx

LT103 · 24/05/2022 16:31

@HJen22 2ww is slow……I tested for fun last night just to see a positive test (knowing it was 100% the ovitrelle). Got it out my system so I’ll behave and wait for OTD now. Still having lower abdominal cramps at one side but that’s been since straight after transfer so don’t think that’s anything to get excited about. 1 week today I’ll know either way!

2mumlife · 25/05/2022 08:01

@HJen22 You're right to be annoyed they don't have a clear policy. I'm the same as @LT103 I never had to do a test at the clinic, just asked if I had symptoms. The used to do a temp check going into the clinic but they had even stopped that at the end of last year.

@LT103 I always think the second week of the 2WW is the worst. The first week I think is easier, as you know there is no point taking a test, but the second week I find my self resolve starts to weaken. No good ever comes of early testing though. Stay strong and keeping everything crossed!

OP posts:
LT103 · 25/05/2022 08:28

@2mumlife possibly same clinic as me as no longer temp checks or anything. Annoying there’s so much variation!
i stupidly tested couple of days ago just to see a positive test for a change 😭. Even though I knew it was just the ovitrelle. Anyway that’s out my system so I’m not testing again.

horrible period like pains this morning. I’m 9dpo so few days before period will come but hoping I don’t start spotting soon as usual!

HJen22 · 25/05/2022 08:29

@LT103 when is OTD again? I hope the next week flies by, or you at least have plenty to keep you busy. I can't imagine how difficult it is waiting!

@2mumlife yeah I just think it's negligence on their part they don't have this somewhere for everyone to be aware of. I'd have been devastated if I'd called last week and they'd said 12 weeks or something! I've never had a temp check, just a PCR before EC. How are you? Xx

LT103 · 25/05/2022 10:46

@HJen22 tuesday so another 6 days!!!

2mumlife · 26/05/2022 07:11

@LT103 I think you're with GCRM right? Medicated cycles did weird things to my body, so all my BFN cycles my period started before OTD, so I always knew if I got to OTD I would test positive - one time it was CP and one time was real :) Keeping everything crossed for Tuesday, not long to go!

@HJen22 They really should make it clear. I'm doing well :)

OP posts:
LouScot · 26/05/2022 17:15

Hi all, hope everyone is well, fingers crossed for you @LT103

I'm reading stats about how hopeless everything is at my age and hoping against hope I'll be lucky. Going to spend this weekend picking a donor - my favourites haven't yet appeared and I have very few to pick from so just going to make the decision and go with it.

@HJen22 so annoying clinics aren't making things clear re the 7 weeks thing

LT103 · 26/05/2022 18:46

@LouScot dont worry about the stats, there are also lots of positive stories from older women so don’t let your age worry you. I’m 40 and so far everything gone well. Sending you lots of positive thoughts!!!
Im fine, had pains all yest and today and keep checking for period but nothing so don’t know what’s going on. Can’t even bring myself to hope it’s a positive sign!

@2mumlife yeah gcrm

2mumlife · 27/05/2022 14:41

@LouScot Try not to read the stats - they really don't tell you anything about your individual situation. It sounds like just going for it and picking someone might be the best option for you at this stage. Sending you positive vibes this weekend!

@LT103 Do you have anything fun planned this weekend to help provide a distraction? x

OP posts:
HJen22 · 27/05/2022 15:18

@LouScot as the others rightly say, try not to worry or read too much into the stats, everyone is different. Good luck picking a donor this weekend ❤️

I know, sorry for the rant it just annoyed me. I did an LFT today to check and I'm not still testing positive on that at least (hadn't done one since I last did it after my isolation in April) I just want them to tell me that it a PCR did come back positive they'd know I wasn't contagious cos I've had it!

Baseline scan Monday and stims starting Tuesday if AF arrives 🤞🏻 the closer it gets the more scared I'm getting of it not working and the disappointment but trying to stay positive xx

Kamiros · 30/05/2022 19:32

Hi all. Hope everyone doing ok.

@LouScot Hope you got on OK with picking a donor. @LT103 Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

@HJen22 Sorry you had that issue with your clinic and covid. Yes I had my party a few weeks ago, that's where I got covid 🙈 but it was a good night.

Just back from my holiday which was so nice and relaxing and fly out tomorrow to Spain for my ERA and immunology testing. Holiday relaxation has quickly deserted me- so anxious, about potential travel issues, about the pain (mostly this) and results. I know it'll be worth it though.

HJen22 · 30/05/2022 19:53

@Kamiros thank you, was just disappointed in their lack of actually letting patients know their process.

Was in for scan today and got all the meds home to start tomorrow 😱 so badly want it to go better this time. Still just as scared and nerve wracking as last time!

Ahh sorry you got Covid from your party but I'm glad you had a good time and had a nice holiday too! Sending all the positivity for your trip to Spain and yeah, all worth it in the end ❤️❤️❤️

LT103 · 30/05/2022 20:16

@HJen22 so exciting. Good luck for starting injections tomorrow!!!

@Kamiros thanks. Have bloods at half 8 tomorrow. I’ve been silly and tested couple of times. Got a line at 6dpt which then faded so that will be ovitrelle inj I guess. Haven’t tested recently but started spotting yest so I think I’m out. Still having horrible cramps like my period is about to start and had them for about a week which isn’t normal for me. Only ever get them like 10 mins before period arrives. So I guess that means that my body has been doing something. All my initial hope is gone though. I’ll test in morning before I go for bloods

Kamiros · 30/05/2022 20:18

@LT103 So sorry to hear that, I was so hopeful for you. Don't give up all hope yet. Thinking of you either way.

HJen22 · 30/05/2022 20:25

@LT103 I'm so sorry; but as @Kamiros says don't give up hope, there is still a chance. I can't imagine how difficult it must be, thinking of you and hoping for good news tomorrow xx

LT103 · 30/05/2022 20:32

Thanks ladies. I will let you know either way. I’m geared up for a negative and thinking to next step but I would love to be proved wrong

LT103 · 31/05/2022 15:48

Had my beta hcg bloods today. 10days post 5d transfer. I started spotting on Sunday and had a negative test so assumed I was out. Got up this morning and did a home test before bloods which had a faint line. Beta was 32 which is low positive so something has happened but they can’t say if it is slow to rise or is falling. She nicely told me there’s more chance of it failing than rising so at least I can be realistic. To go back on Thursday morning to repeat bloods and see what is happening. More waiting!!!!

how is everyone else doing??

Kamiros · 31/05/2022 16:49

@LT103 Everything crossed for you that its just slow to rise.

All OK here except its 30 degrees in Alicante and I think I'm melting. Biopsy went really well, it was painful but nowhere near as bad as I had expected. Clinic was incredibly fancy and we were very well looked after. I met a lovely lady there with her 18 month old son, they were back to try for a sibling. She'd had many failed rounds in the UK but had first time success with donor egg here so I'm hopeful.
