Hello, hope everyone had a good Christmas. I've now reached top of list for IVF at Aberdeen and have video call on 14th January to go through the concent forms we've completed. I'm hoping it won't be too long after that before we start treatment 🤞

Scirocco · 28/12/2021 18:15

@florafoxtrot we're over here!

Thanks for starting the new thread @2mumlife. I hope everyone's surviving the Christmas period and that 2022 brings us all good news when it comes!

itsmschanandlerbong · 28/12/2021 21:24

Thanks for the new thread. I have been quiet because we got our dream, but rooting for every single one of you still going through this rollercoaster ❤️

2mumlife · 28/12/2021 21:25

@Scirocco Our Christmas period has resulted in us being exposed to someone who has tested positive for covid, so I'm now doing lateral flows every day hoping not to see a line, to keep be busy until OTD where I hope to see a line. I'm also trying to symptom spot for covid and pregnancy at the same time eyeroll

@Autumn245 Things normally get going quickly once consents are signed!

@2mumlife we had a covid scare too - it's so stressful! Fortunately we were negative. I also spent Christmas Eve and most of Christmas Day in hospital, so it's been a stressful festive season all round. Even the cats got stressed - how dare we interrupt their food schedule!

2mumlife · 29/12/2021 09:13

@Scirocco Oh no! Hope you were ok? Horribly time of year to be in hospital. Like you say its just stressful. We're testing every day for 10 days post exposure as suggested on the .gov pages and so far negative, but its still early days I feel.

Hi all. Hope everyone had a great Christmas, sorry about the covid scares.

I'm waiting on day 1 to hopefully get going on my 3rd (and probably last) cycle. GCRM had no space for me last month and might be the same again this month which is a little frustrating but is what it is. We've started properly researching clinics in Spain for if this one fails and I honestly feel quite good about it.

@2mumlife Everything crossed for you.

Scirocco · 29/12/2021 12:24

@2mumlife thanks, things turned out ok so it was mostly for observation and I got home after the afternoon ward round. Been exhausted for the past few days - still recovering I guess.

@Kamiros I've heard good things about the clinics in Spain. I hope this next cycle works for you though! I know someone who had success at a clinic in the USA after the Scottish clinics wrote her off - I think it was one of the New York branches of Shady Grove Fertility she used. I don't know if that would be worth looking into as well?

2mumlife · 29/12/2021 12:33

@Kamiros Hoping day 1 comes along soon (but not too soon, I know GCRM are on skeleton staff until 4th Jan). Focus on next cycle for now and see what happens xx

@Scirocco Glad you're ok. Take it easy for a bit

Autumn245 · 30/12/2021 20:55

@RRk1469 I was added at the beginning of October and told it would be 4-5 months with the aim of February22 for appointment and treatment starting thereafter. I didn't expect to get to top of the list until February so I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call 2 weeks ago to say we had reached the top of the waiting list. Consent forms were sent digitally the next day. It is likely that we won't start treatment until March depending on other appointments that are needed like blood tests etc but at least the ball is rolling 😊

RRk1469 · 30/12/2021 22:03

Aw thats amazing. Glad it's happening quickly for you. I'm not entirely sure what stage I'm at but I have an appointment end of January which I think is my bmi & smoke test to be approved for IVF. We Hopefully don't have to wait too long. I've read such mixed things regarding waiting times.

Hopewishprayer · 31/12/2021 13:07

@2mumlife thanks for the new thread 😀

@Scirocco sorry to hear you were in hospital hope all is ok

We also have ended up exposed to covid, we were due to fly to Egypt yesterday and before we left DH flow test was positive. I am still testing negative just hoping to avoid it as waiting on day 1 of cycle (should be tomorrow) to get booked in for round 2 starting later in Jan 🤞

LouScot · 31/12/2021 13:14

@2mumlife thanks for the new thread. Have you POAS yet? Thinking of you

@Scirocco very glad to hear things are okay.

@Kamiros fingers and toes crossed this is your cycle.

Hope everyone has a peaceful, covid free night tonight and wishing all of us what we long for in the new year - health, happiness and a successful pregnancy xx

2mumlife · 31/12/2021 14:00

@Hopewishprayer @LouScot Negative lateral flow today for covid, and positive pregnancy test, so feeling cautiously optimistic all around! 🤞🤞 I really wish I could have had the blood test done today given we had a chemical pregnancy last time, but trying to take it as a win I've got a strong line on a 25miu test, and never have enough HCG to register on that high a threshold during the chemical. I'm hoping one of the skeleton staff at the clinic will get back to me before they reopen on the 4th to find out whats next 🤞 🤞

@LouScot Thanks. Hope you're doing well.

LouScot · 31/12/2021 14:42

@2mumlife Oooh, cautious congratulations! Yes, hope someone gets back to you soon so you know what's next. Fantastic news x

Scirocco · 31/12/2021 14:46

@2mumlife that's a really great way to finish 2021 and start 2022 - congratulations!

2mumlife · 31/12/2021 14:50

Thanks everyone. @florafoxtrot honestly until someone tells me it's definitely not a chemical and there is a heart beat and stuff we're staying very cautious with hope
