@2mumlife I've missed a few days and just saw now that you've been discharged! Congratulations!!! I hope you stay around and let us know how things progress, it's great hearing from success stories like you and @Scirocco 😊

2mumlife · 29/01/2022 09:48

@Siomck I never really looked at GRI much. GCRM were fab when we were doing IUI, and we were not expecting to need IVF, so at the time we were choosing clinics its was all much the same with IUI. From general comments from others (not Scotland based, just UK in general) communication is a common issue with clinics, as is slow moving treatment. I would say GCRMs communication is 10x better when you're mid-cycle, compared to between cycles. I'd honestly need to know more about GRI to make a decision, and at least we know the lowdown with GCRM. I think we'll still probably just go back there if all goes well for #2

@LouScot Thank you! Happy to pop in time to time and let you know how things are going, and also just to follow the rest of your journeys :)

Hi, hope everyone is well. My meds arrived today so it's getting exciting again- just got excited about getting a purple sharps bin though so that's where my life is 😂

HJen22 · 02/02/2022 13:49

@Kamiros that's great news everything has arrived! Can I ask, is it normally one injection a day then another added a few days in? I'm yet to have my schedule but they said last week I should have it in a week. Should I be worried and chase them? I have had it confirmed I start norethisterone on 15th Feb for 10 days though xx

Scirocco · 02/02/2022 14:00

A purple bin! I'm totally going on the hunt for one of those - mine are just the boring orange/yellow ones. Here's hoping it's a positive sign for a good cycle. 💜

Kamiros · 02/02/2022 14:10

@HJen22 It depends on your protocol. I'm on flare so start with a Prostap injection, I then just take one Ovaleap every day for about 10-12 days. I start my norethisterone Saturday but for 12 days. It'll probably be fine but give them a call if you are worrying about it. x

@Scirocco I know, I was ridiculously excited about it, the last 2 were both yellow. Got to take the good where we can I guess. I really do hope so. x

HJen22 · 02/02/2022 14:12

@Kamiros of course, sorry silly question! Everyone seems to be different don't they! I'll give it til the end of the week, think I'd just like to have it so I know exactly what's happening!

Kamiros · 02/02/2022 14:17

@HJen22 Not a silly question. Yeah anything that makes you feel better is worth doing, clinics are all used to us asking and chasing I think.

2mumlife · 05/02/2022 14:28

@Kamiros Not sure if I'm nore excited about your purple sharps bin, or you getting started again! Wink

@2mumlife I know 😂 Norethisterone started today but I'm feeling quite relaxed about it all which I think is good. Hope you're keeping well.

Scirocco · 09/02/2022 22:01

Hi, just a quick update from me to let you all know - we had our IVF/ICSI baby born safely this week. We feel unimaginably grateful to the universe - we never thought this would happen for us.

I'm not going to post loads of details as I know how hard it can be to read those updates, but wanted to say that if anyone has any questions or wants information about the processes we went through, I'm happy to discuss by private message.

I've found this thread in particular a huge source of support over the past few years - thank you all and I hope it's ok for me to still pop in sometimes.

HJen22 · 09/02/2022 22:19

@Scirocco massive congratulations and welcome to the world to your much wanted and loved baby 💕

It's always so nice when there are successes in our infertility club. I am always so happy and excited for those who have struggled and know the pain and the hard journey, it's somehow different to friends who fall pregnant after one month of trying.

Wishing you the very best; enjoy every single second of being a new mum ❤️

@Kamiros how are you getting on? I'm still counting down the days, start my norethisterone finally next Tuesday! X

Kamiros · 09/02/2022 22:28

@scirocco Oh I'm so pleased for you, that's fantastic news. I really love hearing about all the success stories- gives some hope.

@HJen22 I'm ok thanks. A little crampy today, seems slightly worse each cycle. First one I was fine and last one I wasn't like this until about day 9. Won't be long until you're starting now then.

2mumlife · 10/02/2022 13:13

@Scirocco OMG YAY! Congratulations! Hope you're all doing well x

@Kamiros Its great you've got started. Sending you plenty of calmness and positive vibes for the cycle - you've got this Star

itsmschanandlerbong · 10/02/2022 21:58

@Scirocco huge congratulations! Love a positive ending 😊

Best of luck for your rounds @HJen22 and @Kamiros!

HJen22 · 11/02/2022 09:08

@itsmschanandlerbong thank you so much 💕 daunting but finally getting started soon after what feels like a very long wait!

@Kamiros how are you feeling other than cramps? I'm a bit worried of the mental side effects ie anxiety etc, as I already suffer quite bad with it at some points x

Kamiros · 11/02/2022 09:51

Thanks everyone.

@HJen22 I'm actually fine this time round and the cramps are a little better today. First time I was ok, 2nd time I was really irritable rather than emotional. I just try to keep a balance between keeping busy for a distraction and not expecting too much of myself. I have acupuncture this evening which I find really helpful. I'm just impatient to start the injections now- 10 days!

ally99101 · 13/02/2022 13:09

@Scirocco huge congratulations hope you and baby are doing well.

HJen22 · 17/02/2022 10:58

@Kamiros how are you getting on? I'm feeling a little nauseous on the norethisterone, and didn't sleep good at all last night. No idea if it's all in my head or not! X

Scirocco · 17/02/2022 11:08

Thank you everyone for the lovely messages. Here's hoping for more good news for everyone!

Kamiros · 17/02/2022 11:24

@HJen22 I was thinking of you this morning and going to ask how you were doing. I've had some mild nausea throughout but I always get that around ovulation and my period anyway. Hopefully it doesn't get too bad for you. I finished norethisterone last night and am a bit crampy now but if like previous times it should go away in the next couple of days.

HJen22 · 17/02/2022 11:28

@Kamiros I had a sore back yesterday like I'd get before AF, I was hoping I was going to get away with just that and being tired! But this morning the nausea has kicked in. I hope it wasn't too bad for you and went by quickly! How long were you on it for? And how long until you expect AF?

Kamiros · 17/02/2022 11:31

@HJen22 It's constant but not so bad I can't work / do my normal stuff. I was on 12 days, its a little longer than they like but its because I can sometimes have a short cycle. I have first injection Monday, in past cycles I usually bleed late on in the break so night before/ morning of the injection.

HJen22 · 17/02/2022 11:34

@Kamiros oh man, so it's unlikely this is going to pass anytime soon then! I am on for 10 days, finish 24th with baseline scan 28th and first injection scheduled for 1st March. You are a week ahead of me! All becoming very real now!! I normally have a short cycle too, I was a bit worried AF was going to appear before Day 21, was thinking that would be just typical but thankfully it didn't!

Kamiros · 17/02/2022 11:55

@HJen22 You might find it gets better in the middle. My first scan is 28th too but that's to see how things are going, I don't think GCRM ever do a baseline scan.
