@Infertilitywarrior I think it's because I like to know, that's why I struggle with the wait, it's completely out of my hands. It's not really even the negative that does me, it's the not knowing- I'm a bit of a control freak lol. So to me as long as I know I can cope x

strawberrysummer19 · 03/12/2021 22:44

@theotherfossilsister I also had 4 fertilised ( from a lower number collection of 7, 5 mature ) and 2 went onto to be excellent quality, one back inside and now 6ks pregnant and on the freezer so 5 is still a good number

@Infertilitywarrior I know me too
What over rode it for me is that I really wanted to know if anyone was wrong at this stage
Although I'm not out the woods to me it has massively helped my worries so that's just my experience- understand why you'd want to wait too - I did feel that until I got the feeling something wasn't right
Which I'm going to try not do anymore!!
X

Holskey · 03/12/2021 23:50

@Infertilitywarrior I'd probably have the scam, but I'd wait it out a few days past 6 weeks, maybe 6+3, but even 6+2 is better. Every day counts. You might be fine and see a lovely heartbeat but would you be okay if there wasn't a heartbeat even if you knew it might be too early?

@theotherfossilsister I'm sorry to hear about your drop off, amd I know it's alarming, but I don't think it means your eggs are poor quality. They weren't mature so they don't really count in my view, and all of the energy (and drugs) could have gone into making your mature eggs. Hopefully the ones that matured are great quality 🤞🤞🤞

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 omg yay congratulations! So happy for you

Thank you everyone again for your advice I'm still in limbo just afraid to think the worst, in the next couple of days I think eventually I'll just make a decision and that will be that lol xx

Infertilitywarrior · 04/12/2021 09:46

@Holskey you've defo made me think about what to do because no I'd probably be a mess if I didn't see a heartbeat and I would just convince myself something was wrong until I was able to have another scan to be sure xx

Nerdalert · 04/12/2021 10:23

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 omg congratulations!! So happy for you 🍍

strawberrysummer19 · 04/12/2021 11:29

Thank you everyone, still doesn't feel real, lol will take a while to sink in x

Hufflepuff1 · 04/12/2021 13:43

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 congratulations!! So amazing!!

@Infertilitywarrior I am the same as you, considering getting a 6 week scan but I know I won't be able to handle it if there's no heartbeat. Last cycle I started bleeding two days before my 7 week scan so my anxiety is through the roof. I've even got hcg done for the first time ever but again stressing about it because I searched on Instagram and loads of other people get much higher numbers and only a handful got similar to me and ended up with a baby. So yeh, stressing about everything!!

paintfairy · 04/12/2021 15:27

@Infertilitywarrior I would leave it until 8 weeks if you can. You'll see much more. If you really want to, do 7. Don't risk doing 6 and it being at an in-between stage as it'll only cause you more anxiety.
@ExhaustedPigeon1988 congratulations! 😭

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 04/12/2021 20:15

Honestly thank you all so much :) feels like it's happening to someone else lol best of luck @2021babyhope I'm sure it will all be great :)

Infertilitywarrior · 04/12/2021 22:06

@Hufflepuff1 @paintfairy thank you both. Anxiety is the worst and honestly I can't shift my worries but I think I'm going to wait I will be 7+2 if I wait till my clinic scan so should be a nice time to see something at least as long as nothings gone wrong 😭
I know i would be inconsolable if I had a scan earlier and there was no heartbeat yet I would then convince myself it really hadn't worked and I'd be a mess. I'm just going to have to wait it out until 13th 🤞

paintfairy · 04/12/2021 22:12

@Infertilitywarrior I'm the same. My clinic don't scan until 8 weeks. It's so hard waiting. But I'd rather know nothing than panic about something because of an inaccurate scan. Which is the same reason I've not done umpteen tests. You just make your anxiety worse.

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 OMG congratulations! That is wonderful news 🎊🎊🎊
@Infertilitywarrior I’ve had a scan at 6w+2 before and we were able to detect a heartbeat. This time around they only offered it only after 7 weeks.

I drove past a Bourn Hall clinic in Essex yesterday and thought of some of you lovely ladies. It’s weird what you notice when you’re going through something. I had never noticed it before or even heard of Bourn Hall.

Has anyone gotten their meds from Asda? I needed POI injections (3days worth) and oestrogen tablets (84 tablets) to see through until the scan. I couldn't be bothered to drive to the clinic in West London so asked them to post the prescription to me. Asda charged me £14. I couldn’t believe it. The clinic assured me that there was very little price difference between them and Asda but in honestly Asda was less than half the price. Annoyed that we spent ££ before without verifying.

Infertilitywarrior · 05/12/2021 22:31

Hey everyone I wanted to update you all and hopefully some of you can give me advice. I've just spent 6 hours over a & e with red bleeding and i passed a clot (sorry tmi) its only been red blood today and seems to have stopped now. Apparently the neck of my womb is still closed so they are saying its a threatened miscarriage, my hcg is 56408 which they have said is good, when she examined me she could only see old blood so she said thats another good sign. They are giving me a scan tomorrow and I'm hoping and praying everything is OK 🤞 I'm an absolute mess xx
Hope everyone else is doing well x

Hufflepuff1 · 05/12/2021 22:45

@Infertilitywarrior I am so sorry you are going through that, it must be so scary for you. The good news is your examination has gone well so far, remember a lot of people bleed during pregnancy so hopefully this is the last time you will need to experience that. I know nothing I say will help your anxiety but I hope the scan brings you further relief, will be thinking of you 💜

StillTrying10000 · 05/12/2021 23:40

@Infertilitywarrior gosh I’m so sorry. That’s terrifying and awful when you have to wait so long. I think it’s super unlikely to be this so I don’t want to worry you but it might be worth asking for an amniocentesis. It’s a swab where they can tell within 60 seconds if your waters have broken. After two weeks back and forth to A&E, being told my cervix was closed and there was a good heartbeat a doctor finally suggested this for me and it turned out my waters had gone at 16 weeks. Why no one thought to do this before baffles me and I wish I had know to request one. Also ask for a blood test to check for an infection. My waters had broken due to a low lying infection which could had been easily treated by a course of antibiotics if only they tested when I first had bleeding. You could easily be having a harmless bleed but these are good things to ask to check as I learnt the hardest way. Best of luck, go with your gut and keep asking questions xxx
