@hufflepuff1 yay congrats!

I had a dream last night that everyone who tested this morning was positive but thought I had messed that up with my test mishap this morning. So glad its good news all around.

Finally managed to get a test and still bfp! A bit worried it doesnt appear to be getting darker. But will see. Now to wait for a call from the clinic tomorrow. Really hoping they will let me do blood tests. Thinking of going private if they dont.

Also since I had 2 embryos transferred. Really curious if its 1 baby or twins.

@makeithappen2022 yay I can't believe it. Fingers crossed everything goes well 🤞

@AMN3000 yay! How many days past transfer are you?

Holskey · 28/11/2021 12:28

Congratulations @Hufflepuff1! 🎉 Lots of good news here lately 🙂

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 28/11/2021 12:32

@Hufflepuff1 @AMN3000 so happy for you both :) we have had so many positives on here recently it really is amazing :) massive congratulations.... It would be so nice in a month or so if everyone put up their first scan pics too :) Christmas miracles 🎄

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 12:39

@makeithappen2022 @Hufflepuff1 congratulations to you both! 🥳
@ExhaustedPigeon1988 erm, no way have I been ploughing on with everything not complaining. 🤣 I've been making sure I'm taking time out for myself and resting. I don't think I could cope dealing with all of that!

@Hufflepuff1 omg yay congratulations! How amazing to have so many positives on this group 🎉

Hufflepuff1 · 28/11/2021 13:15

Thank you all :)
How have everyone's symptoms progressed?
@ExhaustedPigeon1988 what a lovely idea!

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 13:17

@Hufflepuff1 I'm just really tired and always hungry. 🤣

@Hufflepuff1
@paintfairy
Literally the same just really hungry really tired and bloated
The last couple of days been having some stabbing pains in my boobs but it comes and goes xx

Hufflepuff1 · 28/11/2021 16:57

I had a bit of nausea yesterday and the day before but nothing now. So obvs I'm anxious about that. Extra tired and heavy boobs and also bloated. Can't figure out if I'm being lazy or not though lol

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 17:07

@Hufflepuff1 I've had slight nausea some afternoons and not others. I don't think it properly kicks in for a few more weeks yet. Enjoy not having it. I'm hoping it doesn't hit for Christmas. 🤣

I thought this was interesting? IVF clinics selling useless 'add-on' treatments to face fines www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10251011/IVF-clinics-selling-ineffective-add-treatments-desperate-parents-face-fines.html?ito=native_share_article-masthead

@paintfairy that's a really interesting read, I was considering the pre-implantation screening next cycle! Not sure I will bother now, we have used embryo glue last time, and again this cycle, hope we aren't getting mugged off :-/ x

BlueSilver23 · 28/11/2021 18:04

@paintfairy interesting that genetic testing is on there. I was of the impression this was a relatively common thing?

For those that are interested below is the list of so called pointless add ons;

Artificial egg activation calcium ionophore
Assisted hatching
Elective freeze all cycles
Endometrial scratching
Hyaluronate enriched medium (e.g. EmbryoGlue)
Immunological tests and treatments for fertility
Intracytoplasmic morphologic sperm injection (IMSI)
Intrauterine culture
Physiological intracytoplasmic morphologic sperm injection (PICSI)
Pre-implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A)
Time-lapse imaging

I dare say there are many on here that think otherwise! But I agree that some degree of protection against clinics flogging non evidence based treatments is needed. Infertility is such an emotive issue and easily exploited

paintfairy · 28/11/2021 18:18

@BlueSilver23 whilst many of the others i wasn't surprised at, yes I thought the same about the genetic testing. I assumed there was evidence that it was beneficial? But obviously not.

We had TLI as an additional extra, I felt that was the one which would actually benefit considerably they don't take the embryos in and out of their environment to be checked. We had embryo glue on the second cycle that ended in mc. I wanted it this time but the clinic said they don't do it anymore. I've often thought that clinics suggesting freeze all cycles without any cause are just trying to make extra money.

Chrischross · 28/11/2021 18:29

@makeithappen2022

Here it is! Finally done my test on my otd and burst into tears with happiness! I can’t believe it. 💗💗💗 our BFP!!!
Amazing news!! 🥳🥳🥳
paintfairy · 28/11/2021 18:30

@Hufflepuff1 my clinic don't check the embryos anyway. There's maybe something to be said for that (and therefore a benefit to TML, as you will still know what's happening). With us- we literally had no idea until day 5. Other than knowing how many fertilised.

Hufflepuff1 · 28/11/2021 18:43

@paintfairy it's mad how every clinic is different. We had updates nearly every day it kept me sane! Not now though... What is sanity. I still keep thinking I'm about to come on my period!

StillTrying10000 · 28/11/2021 20:50

@AMN3000 congratulations! I’ve had that a few times, no idea why, you can email Clearblue and they will send you a replacement test. They’re so pricey it’s worth it x

Chrischross · 28/11/2021 22:41

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 good luck for tomorrow. Sending you ultra positive vibes.

Infertilitywarrior · 29/11/2021 07:41

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 good luck today xx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 29/11/2021 07:46

@Infertilitywarrior @Chrischross thank you for your thoughts, you ladies are amazing remembering where everyone else is at when you have so much to think of yourself! How are you both feeling today? 💐🎄💐🎄☺️💕

Looking for some help from fellow bournhall clients..... it's transfer day, how likely am I to get a call to update me on how the thaw went? I am debating calling in first thing this morning, although transfer isn't until 2.30.... any advise from previous experience? X

Hufflepuff1 · 29/11/2021 08:00

@ExhaustedPigeon1988 good luck! 💜🤞

Infertilitywarrior · 29/11/2021 08:01

I don't have a clue how I'm feeling my head is all over the place 🤣 I'm still spotting on and off so I'm freaking out but then still getting really strong positive pregnancy tests. I've emailed clinic today with update of yesterday's test like they asked so waiting to see when they can book me in for scan 🤞 I'm with Bourn Hall and I've not been called both times that I've had FET but they are always so accommodating so if it puts your mind at ease I'd say call it will make you worry less xx

StillTrying10000 · 29/11/2021 08:05

Good luck @ExhaustedPigeon1988 I’m at Kings not Bourne Hal but thought you might like to hear - Kings update me regularly on everything but not on if the thaw went well. The assumption was I’d hear from them only if it hadn’t worked out. I also got the impression they defrosted it right before transfer so I was probably in the building by the time they were doing it anyway. Hope it goes well for you xxx
