@makeithappen2022 my official day is Saturday but I’m so tempted to test tomorrow!

AMN3000 · 24/11/2021 17:31

Hi all, I have been lurking on this thread for a bit but was hoping for some advice.

But first congrats for the bfp @cyclegirl20

I am currently 10dp5dt of 2 embryos. My clinic told me after the transfer to test in 2 weeks. But the paper I have with my meds and all that says to test 16 days post transfer!!

Well I caved and tested this morning which is very unlike me. I usually wait as seeing the bfn is too hard. I just had a feeling. Got a positive. Never had 2 lines before! It was only a 4 hour hold as well.

My dh says I shouldnt have tested early. He thinks we should retest on sunday (2 weeks from transfer) and tell the clinic then. He is happy but nervous. I had my trigger shots on the 7th. Over 2 weeks ago. Could it be a false positive? Do you think I should call the clinic tomorrow or wait until sunday?

Not sure if my clinic even does blood tests. Just really excited to find out. And get viability scan scheduled. But he thinks they will tell us to wait. Did anyone else who tested early call? Or did you wait?

@AMN3000 congratulations! That's amazing

I tested one day early and just updated the clinic the next day - I figured a day early wouldn't matter.

They offered me a blood test on the day (Friday) but I went on the Monday and then they booked my scan which I'll be exactly 8wks for x

Holskey · 24/11/2021 17:45

@AMN3000 Congratulations! 🎉

I think I called a couple of days early on my last successful FET and they didn't mind. This time I waited until OTD (a whole 5 days) I think out of fear of a chemical. Call them if you want. They can always ask you to retest and call back on OTD if that's what they want 🙂

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 17:46

@CycleGirl20 🥳 Congratulations! Great news!
@Hufflepuff1 I can't stop eating, if that counts? 🤣 I've emailed her actually. She said I need to go 2 weeks after test day. And I think after that it spreads out further. Had it been negative i think its still worth going, to get your body back on track?
@AMN3000 the clinic won't accept the result until OTD. So don't bother calling until then. I just tested on that day too? So yes you should retest Sunday.

Hufflepuff1 · 24/11/2021 18:18

@AMN3000 it depends on your clinic. Mine were quite strict in telling me not to test until otd so I would not tell them should I decide against that. Congratulations, its a lovely line! 💜🎊

@makeithappen2022 I finished off my second pineapple yesterday so didn't bother buying another today but have had some Brazil nuts just in case and I'm getting a pineapple slice in my Nandos chicken pitta if that counts 😂🍍

@paintfairy haha carry on eating, eating for two and all that 😂

@Gensola good luck testing! And well done for waiting this long 🤞🤞🍀

Hufflepuff1 · 24/11/2021 18:19

@paintfairy I have acupuncture this week and next, last time I stopped during the tww but I darent do anything this time as if it doesn't work I'll end up blaming myself for not carrying on with it. I just use it as an excuse for a nap tbh 😂

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 18:26

@Hufflepuff1 I struggle to relax. I just chat. 🤣 And I've had the most ridiculous dinner tonight. I'm trying to be good so i added cabbage and carrots to my garlic chicken and chips. But yeah- eating for 2. And at least it's not junk food. 🤭

I think I’m learning the hard way why you shouldn’t test so early. My line this morning hadn’t really progressed from day 4. Done another test just now and it’s even lighter. So I’m desperately hoping that it’s not a chemical again, and I’ve not got my hopes up for nothing. I was nauseous and had a headache until yesterday afternoon and that’s all disappeared as well. I know it’s still too early to know in reality.

Gensola · 24/11/2021 18:33

@Tinyhappypeople oh no! How many days post transfer are you? Could it just be that your wee is more dilute?

paintfairy · 24/11/2021 19:17

@Tinyhappypeople as above, how many days post transfer are you? It can vary with different tests and urine strength. But yes I think that's why they try to tell you not to test early. It's so bloody hard though. So hard.

CycleGirl20 · 24/11/2021 19:36

@AMN3000 congratulations!!! Another good line! How are your symptoms?

@Tinyhappypeople I'm sorry to hear that but if you're early on it could also just be urine strength. You also probably had a bit of trigger shot left over at 4dp so maybe it made the line darker than it should be and now it'll have to catch back up

Infertilitywarrior · 24/11/2021 19:45

@Tinyhappypeople I agree with the others your wee could have been weaker, different tests and different times of day can affect it too
Are you planning on testing again tomorrow or next day? Silly question I know xx

Infertilitywarrior · 24/11/2021 19:45

@AMN3000 congratulations 🎊

Tinyhappypeople · 24/11/2021 20:05

Thank you, really really hope it’s just dilution. Definitely not trigger as this is a frozen cycle. I will most likely test again tomorrow now, even though I know the sensible thing would be to wait.

I’ve just hit a massive wall with this today, completely overwhelmed with it. It’s nearly 6 weeks since I started buserelin, and those 6 weeks have been totally shit at work, loads of issues and sickness, isolation etc etc. I’m trying to manage a team and keep up the appearance of being in control but I don’t feel it at all. I’m knackered, I can’t stop crying now, started hyperventilating in the car on the way home. I have to get through two more days at work then im off for a week so just need to concentrate on that. A close friend and also my father died on the same day 2 years ago and it’s their anniversary Saturday, which probably isn’t helping. Plus the stupid amounts of hormones we all have to take

Sorry for the self indulgent rant Blush

Hufflepuff1 · 24/11/2021 20:19

@Tinyhappypeople it's so tough :( sorry to hear you have so much other stuff going on top of what already is such a stressful time. I think it's a good idea for you to have some time off and you then have one less focus to worry about.
As others have said it may be too early, how many days past transfer are you now? I think the earliest some clinics say is 9 days post a 5 day transfer so maybe wait until then?
As for symptoms I empathise as I have none too!

Infertilitywarrior · 24/11/2021 20:35

@Tinyhappypeople so sorry you're going through lots of other emotional stuff alongside the fet. The hormones are the worst can literally make the smallest thing seem so big and especially when you have alot of big stuff going on you've done well to keep going. Do your best to have some you time in your week off and lean on others for support. We are all here for you too ❤

Tinyhappypeople · 24/11/2021 21:12

Thank you so much, it’s so helpful having people get it, I really appreciate it. I’m not normally a very emotional person but during treatment I’ve been all over the place both times! I’ve given up for the day, in bed with a cup of tea. Hope everyone is as ok as possible this evening xx

Justawannabemam · 24/11/2021 21:26

Hi everyone

I've came over from part 1 .

Lots if mixed emotions going on

Lovely new for all you angels getting BFPs.

Sorry to those who are having a crappy time. In a few weeks time it's a new year . New start. We've got this and one day next year we'll all be here posting our pissy sticks. X

I'm not sure if I told the group. But we got funding for 2 more cycles . Got our review from our first cycle next week. Hoping we can start soon . Also it's a good job I didn't need the councilling I was referred for bc not one person has been in touch.

Although I'm still waiting for my natural cycle to raise its head.
In other news I managed to drag my fat ass back to work. And tbh I feel better for it .

Sending lots of dust, baby dust xx

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 24/11/2021 21:54

@paintfairy I am just using it as some time to myself, life is so stressful I don't ever get me time if not! Have been going twice a week. If I am lucky enough to get BFP I am going weekly through first trimester due to previous miscarriages. Then I will relax it to fortnightly or even monthly.

@IVFGotThis05 so sorry for your news, but great you have some Frosties. Sending you loads of love x

@makeithappen2022 yep defo think I'm doing it, and done pineapple last time too, which I will be doing again..... it's crazy all the shit we do, most of which makes no sense at all lol

@Infertilitywarrior thank you. I'm trying not to stress over it, just going to wing it lol

@CycleGirl20 massive congrates, that's a beautiful line :)

@Justawannabemam I think the support that clinics actually offer is bull! Hope you are coping ok, and the funding is excellent news :)

Gensola · 25/11/2021 06:10

BFN for me today at 9dp5dt Sad OTD not til Saturday but I’ve been here before and I know it’s over. Good luck to everyone still waiting 💕

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 25/11/2021 06:39

@Gensola I'm so sorry to hear that :( are you ready to focus on next steps, or will you be taking some time off? X

Gensola · 25/11/2021 06:42

I will be taking some time off because our next step is a 3rd cycle in the Czech Republic and we can’t go there until June/July 2022 so I’ll have to have the time off between now and then. I’ll be in touch with the clinic there next week to see what tests and bloods etc they need to book us in to start stims next June, working toward an egg collection in early July.

ExhaustedPigeon1988 · 25/11/2021 07:28

@Gensola my thoughts go out to you, it's such a awful journey, even for those who are lucky enough to get positives. Hopefully having a time frame to work towards helps, and you manage to enjoy Christmas and new year... x

Infertilitywarrior · 25/11/2021 07:40

@Gensola thinking of you, so sorry 😔
