Hi everyone, I hope it’s ok to jump in! I’ve been reading the thread and finding all the information super useful @Gardenlady543 you are an oracle of wisdom! I had a failed euploid transfer 2 weeks ago, just had a follow up with my consultant and he recommends a mock cycle with biopsy / endometrium receptivity test. Im shocked working through the dates as it looks like it takes 6 weeks, then I can’t start another cycle until I get results…does anyone know how long it roughly takes? im 42 in jan so time is not on my side. Why does everything IVF related seem to take so very long 😢

Gardenlady543 · 13/12/2021 15:09

@Dochas1211 yeah it was good to hear someone say sorry. Yeah I agree re unmedicated, unfortunately because of scheduling everyone gets a medicated one.

Hi @Littleblue80 I'm sorry to hear about the recent transfer. Do you have euploid embryos banked? If so how many? If not I would get that sorted before doing the ERA EMMA ALICE. it will take up about 3 months, as you'll have this cycle off, then the medicated cycle with biopsy and then a cycle off waiting for results. If you have a good amount banked then I wouldn't worry about the time, people can have a transfer after menopause if needed.

seven201 · 13/12/2021 18:09

@Gardenlady543 I'm glad they've discussed your complaint. I hope they apologised too. Hopefully you've saved someone else going through something similar.

@Gardenlady543 nice to get an apology although better not to have to go through the experience. Well done for pursuing the complaint.

@Dochas1211 sorry you're feeling anxious although it's totally natural. Will be thinking of you on Wednesday

Janefx40 · 13/12/2021 23:17

@Littleblue80 sorry about your failed transfer. These things knock us. I know it feels like time is ticking away but better to get all your ducks in the row although I think @Gardenlady543 is right that it could be worth banking the embryos first if you haven't already.

@Dochas1211 my consultant just gave me the choice of natural or medicated FET and because I chose natural then we had to do the ERA natural. Yes I was receptive. I've done a natural FET before that worked (initially anyway) but I can see medicated makes more sense really as it takes out unknowns. He did give me a trigger shot though so he could be sure of ovulation

Xxx

StillTrying10000 · 14/12/2021 19:51

Thank you for everyone's advice. My consultant asked me to come in to see him yesterday and he was very clear that he thought the best next step was Emma and Alice so I felt I need to trust his judgement as he's currently looking after my treatment so I'm planning it for my Jan cycle. It says on the site results are back in 30 days- those of you who have had the tests was that timeline accurate for you? Thank you.

Janefx40 · 14/12/2021 20:20

@StillTrying10000 mine came back in exactly 2 weeks. Best of luck. Good idea to follow advice x

seven201 · 14/12/2021 20:42

@StillTrying10000 good luck. My results were on the quicker side. I think perhaps 2 weeks.

My period has arrived. Which does place my mid-cycle scan (just to check my lining after surgery, not an actual cycle) would fall on the Christmas weekend. I'm hoping they will let me come in just before or just after the break so it doesn't delay us by another month.

OP posts:
StillTrying10000 · 14/12/2021 20:58

@Janefx40 and @seven201 that's good to know. I'll keep my fingers crossed for two weeks too.
@seven201 er what bad timing. I hope they can be flexible. I've been scuppered by Christmas myself. Not only is it another Christmas without a baby but also the added torture it's a wasted month as they can't do my tests due to the break.

whatcangowrong · 15/12/2021 08:09

Not feeling like things are necessarily brilliant my side, have had a pretty steady flow of light bleeding, all dark brown so far but probably 7 days of it by now, pretty much every time I wipe. My clinic have upped my progesterone even higher until they can see me on Friday. The bleeding I could probably deal with on its own but more concerning is that all my nausea is completely gone. It was really ramping up, and I feel less tired. I didn't feel sick in my first singleton pregnancy so perhaps all is well, but I'm preparing myself to see max one twin on Friday, 😞 hope there is at least one.

@Dochas1211 is it today for your scan? Good luck if so.

On the subject of natural FETs, do you guys mean no drugs at all? Would you have progesterone or not? I tend to do a low dose (one progynova per day) plus trigger shot to make sure I do ovulate. Seems to be a bit of a half way house. Involves more scans and therefore more cost, but I do quite like the idea that my body is prepping for an egg that has actually been released, rather than just being totally overridden by medication.

Janefx40 · 15/12/2021 09:13

@whatcangowrong ah I'm so sorry about all the worry. It's so hard to know what's going on in there. Bleeding can be normal and not mean anything but there's no way of knowing until we see that scan. Let's see what the additional progesterone does too.

Btw are you on blood thinners? I had spotting during one of my pregnancies (that was totally healthy at that point) because I was on aspirin and Clexane.

Thinking of you xxx

My natural FET this time (mock ERA cycle) is a trigger shot and then lowish dose progesterone from ovulation or thereabouts. My natural FET previously was just progesterone.

Xxx

whatcangowrong · 15/12/2021 12:54

Thanks @Janefx40 - ever the voice of reason and calm. I took blood thinners for the flight on recommendation of doctor but am not on them apart from that. Im worrying that sitting on a plane for 12 hours might not have been the best idea, although of course pregnancy is not an illness and "normal people" would do that without batting an eyelid!

Can't bring scan forward until I get released from day 2 test 🙄

greendress789 · 15/12/2021 16:02

Hi all, have been lurking on this thread for a while and recognise some of the names. Sending strength to those who need it and congratulations to those who are expecting.

I need to do the ERA/EMMA/ALICE test. I am based in London. Do you know where I can go and the cost?

seven201 · 15/12/2021 18:17

@whatcangowrong I'm sorry to hear about the brown spotting. You are definitely not out yet. Going on a plane won't have done anything I'm sure.

@greendress789 sorry, I don't know. Do your ivf clinic not do them? Mine do, it's a Care Fertility one.

OP posts:
greendress789 · 15/12/2021 18:40

Mine has quoted £1300. Was wondering if it was cheaper somewhere else.

Janefx40 · 15/12/2021 19:04

@greendress789 welcome. I think you would ideally need to do them at the same clinic where you were doing the transfer. The ERA is done as part of a mock cycle that should be the same as the transfer cycle you plan to do. As clinics often do things slightly differently you would want to be at the same clinic really.

I've not heard of anyone doing the tests outside of their own clinic tbh. I'm not sure how much CRGH charge but I can look it up if that helps. I did a quartet so including NK biopsy as well

X

greendress789 · 15/12/2021 19:24

Thanks @Janefx40.

It's a bit of a strange one as I just had a failed donor cycle with LWC so they're sort of my clinic, I'm doing immunes with Dr Gorgy at another clinic who quoted me £1300, and I'm hoping to go to IB in Spain for my next donor cycle and they need the ERA/EMMA/ALICE before they accept me on their programme 😢

StillTrying10000 · 15/12/2021 20:20

@greendress789 my clinic is £2,050 plus medications I usually take on a normal cycle.

seven201 · 17/12/2021 13:36

@whatcangowrong have you had the scan today?

OP posts:
seven201 · 17/12/2021 13:36

@Dochas1211 how did your scan on wednesday go?

OP posts:
whatcangowrong · 17/12/2021 17:06

@seven201 I'm waiting there now. Still bizarrely detached but may not be if it's bad news now :-/

Janefx40 · 17/12/2021 17:18

@whatcangowrong good luck. Thinking of you x

Dochas1211 · 17/12/2021 18:13

@whatcangowrong good luck. Keeping everything crossed for you.

@seven201 it went fine thank you for asking. How are you getting on?

@Gardenlady543 how are you? Have you had any more appointments? Hope you are ok.

@Janefx40 hope you are doing ok. Are you planning to enjoy a few drinks etc over Christmas?

@greendress789 my cost was similar to @StillTrying10000

To all the new ladies. Hope you are all doing ok x

seven201 · 17/12/2021 18:21

Excellent @Dochas1211 ! I was worried as you'd gone quiet (which is allowed too obvs). How wonderful.

All fine with me. After making a pain of myself I have an appointment for end of December, just to check how my lining is naturally.

@whatcangowrong hope you've been seen now
And all is well

OP posts:
whatcangowrong · 17/12/2021 18:46

@seven201 well done for being a pain! Sometimes it's the only way.

@Dochas1211 so glad things are ok.

@Janefx40 thanks for the positive vibes.

All ok with me, despite the bleeding and lessening of symptoms generally both twins are still going strong. I guess it really might actually happen now... feels totally mad!

Guessing most clinics are now closed for the break until after Christmas so hopefully everyone can enjoy the rest. Hope you all have nice plans and that it won't be too difficult a time of year for anyone, I know it can be. Xx
