@seven201 yay glad all went well. He usually rings u later in day or tmrw for more detail if he doesn’t and u had a million questions ring gill tmrw and ask her what happened in ur op as u didn’t get chance to talk to him. He usually uses coil if not too much scarring or it’s lower down in uterus . I had the coil before my son as my scarring was all in cervix. Then this time balloon as it was all over the uterus
U escaped the dreaded balloon!!!
Hope ur feeling ok x

Gardenlady543 · 06/09/2021 18:52

@seven201 That sounds like good news then from what @Cream123 has said! A lot of people are groggy after an anaesthetic so a chat to find out the details sounds good. I bet you're glad it's over now, rest up this week!

seven201 · 06/09/2021 21:58

Thank you both! I'm just so so relieved it's done. Covid does add a huge layer of stress about whether things will go ahead!

Cream, that is great to hear about the coil! Gill did say I could ring her if I had questions. She also warned me he would speak to me but that i probably wouldn't remember anything he said and to write it down at the time. I was in recovery at the time though so definitely in no position for writing notes! I think I remember telling him I was all snuggly cosy in bed when he asked how I was Grin. I also forgot to take my bra off but luckily the other doctor noticed before the anaesthetist put me to sleep Blush.

Glad all went well @seven201 :)

Gardenlady543 · 07/09/2021 13:22

I've had my first scan in this repeat ERA EMMA cycle today. I'm CD11 and the lining is 6.6mm which is my lowest reading yet, I'd been on this estradiol regime previously and the lining thickness was better. I'm on a lower dose than my most recent FET as my estradiol went to 8000 that time, they've said they like the estradiol to be around 1000. My estradiol today is 549 so they've asked me to increase up the estradiol dose. I'm back in for a scan on Friday although they didn't have first thing of the day, so I don't know what will happen as I need to get to a dentist appointment so can't wait around for long.

I decided to book in having Botox injected into my jaw and have been waiting a few weeks for the appointment. I was due to have it for teeth grinding before the pandemic and I've put it off for IVF. But I've decided to go ahead while I've got this gap before the next transfer. With all the stress the grinding is worse than ever and it hurts to eat and talk, so I really don't want to miss the appointment to get it done.

Gardenlady543 · 07/09/2021 13:22

How are you feeling today @seven201 ?

seven201 · 08/09/2021 08:59

@Gardenlady543 I wouldn't worry as cd11 is still early. I guess it doesn't matter as much this round as it's 'just' the biopsy, not a transfer. It's so weird how one month our bodies need more of one drug for no apparent reason!

I think get there a bit early on Friday and when you arrive tell reception that you have to of left by x time. Sounds like the dental appointment is important too!

I'm ok. Felt a bit out of my body for most of yesterday but got a better nights sleep last night so hoping I will be more with it today! I thought I'd be able to use this time to get all sorts of life admin stuff done but I all I can manage is crap tv!

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 08/09/2021 10:04

Oh no @seven201 definitely don't use this time to get home stuff done, this is recuperating time! I remember when I broke my arm and had surgery on it and people would tell me how if they were in my position they would be revising for exams and all kinds of things. I was spaced out on tramadol and in agony! Don't give yourself work to do, just relax, watch some daytime tv!

I think the lab advise to get up to 9mm, I'm really hoping they can do a sample for the ERA EMMA and also the NK biopsy this cycle, my specialist said she would try and take both but as they had so much trouble getting the sample last time she would prioritize the ERA EMMA. So I just need to get the lining as thick as I can get it. I don't know if it's the estradiol or stress but I was vomiting all night, it's strange because my blood level is only at 500 and last cycle I was nauseated but not vomiting and the level was 8000 then.

They have basically said I can sit there and hopefully someone will be able to see me early, but yeah I really need to get this injection done and I can't put everything on hold since I'm now a year into being under this clinic and haven't had any luck to date

seven201 · 08/09/2021 18:18

@Gardenlady543 oh no about the vomiting!! How do you feel now?

I think my lining was below 8 when I had my era biopsy. Hopefully it will be better for you this time!

I've spent today on the sofa watching crap!

Anyone else watch grand designs tonight and feel annoyed that it's portrayed ivf as really easy/instant fix??

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 09/09/2021 08:07

@seven201 I'm still feeling nauseated but hope it settles in the next few days. I'm hoping the lining looks good enough tomorrow to book in the biopsy for next Friday. Then I can get off the meds, this is my 4th cycle on them and it feels rubbish to know a transfer won't even be happening and I'll have to do it all again!

Well done for having a nice relaxing day, I didn't watch grand designs but thanks for the heads up not to watch that episode! I do like it but I'm pretty sure a woman gets pregnant during the build in almost every episode!

seven201 · 09/09/2021 20:29

@Gardenlady543 sorry you're still feeling it. Hopefully it settles.

Ha! You are so right. So many urgent family homes being created!

Our 4 embryos were defrosted this morning for pgta testing. One isn't doing anything much so I think I'll get a call tomorrow to say that one should be disposed of Sad. Hopefully the biopsies and re-freezing goes well for the other 3.

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 09/09/2021 21:06

@seven201 one of mine was like that, they said it was 50:50 whether it would be able to be biopsied and if not it wouldn't be refrozen. They do assisted hatching, so I think they basically poke a hole and then let the embryo hatch out in order for them to take the biopsy of cells, so if it doesn't hatch out then I guess it has stopped developing so wouldn't work in a transfer. I was a bit gutted when they told me, as I had started out with 7 embryos and the best one hadn't survived the thaw meaning I was down to 6 and I didn't want to go down to 5 before the biopsies had even got taken! Anyway I got a call the next day to say it had hatched out over night and they had biopsied and refrozen it, it's now classed as a day 6 embryo and it was euploid.

seven201 · 09/09/2021 21:38

Yes, that's the same for mine. It's had the assisted hatching hole but not wanting to do anything. Maybe we'll get a nice surprise in the morning 🤞. One of the others is already a day 6, but I'm pretty sure it's not this one.

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 09/09/2021 21:42

Fingers crossed it does it's thing over night @seven201 I felt the embryologists were really good at keeping me informed with what was happening every step of the way, so hopefully it's good news when they call.

seven201 · 09/09/2021 22:51

Thanks!

Good luck with your scan and dentist appt tomorrow.

OP posts:
bluepixie · 10/09/2021 07:48

@seven201 good luck for pgs ! I was always told that the embryos which don’t survive thaw and pgs prob wouldn’t have made a baby. They are either abnormal or poor in other ways (mitrochrondia etc) freezing is so good now euploid embryos tend to survive. This last fresh cycle I did I had 5 blasts and my two best 10/10 on the scope were abnormal! And my 8/10 and 9/10 were normal - bizzare! The 9/10 was transferred. But they both had a slightly lower grade too!

@Gardenlady543 I feel sick on oestrogen too it’s terrible as soon as I take my first tablet it starts. Hope ur lining is nice and plump today did u up ur dose?

Gardenlady543 · 10/09/2021 08:37

Thanks @Cream123 yeah I was on oral 2mg three times a day. In the last FET when my estradiol was 8000 I was on 2mg three times a day orally and 2mg three times a day vaginally, so we cut down for this one. But I've been on this dosing before and did ok. They added in an extra 2mg twice a day vaginally, from speaking with people in the USA the vaginal route causes blood estradiol to go through the roof so I suspect my blood levels started going up very quickly earlier this week and that's why the vomiting started.

Anyway I'm at 7.6mm today and for the biopsy my specialist wants me around 9mm, I'm hoping for the two biopsies to be taken at the same tome, so I do need to get thicker. I'm expecting them to call later and say carry on with the dosing and that they'll scan on Monday. It's disappointing as it would have been great to get the biopsy over and done with a week today when my specialist could have done it, she only works at this clinic on a Thursday and Friday. If I'm at the right thickness on Monday then it will likely be scheduled for the following Monday. So longer on these meds :(

seven201 · 10/09/2021 17:47

@Gardenlady543 well done on getting the scan done. Its good your lining has increased a bit and not just decided to stop. Hopefully Monday will show you're nearly there so the biopsies can be booked.

As suspected that embryo didn't make it. Im alright about it. The other 3 were biopsied well though. Now yet another wait...

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 11/09/2021 09:28

I hope it does @seven201 my specialist lowered the thickness from 9mm to 8mm, so as long as I've gone up slightly I should be looking at the biopsy a week on Monday. Really want to get it over with!

I'm sorry about the 4th embryo, when mine didn't survive the thaw I tried to look at it as better that it happened on biopsy day rather than transfer day. It's always gutting to go down in numbers though. I hope these three come back as euploid. I think they said it would take 3 weeks but the results were back in 9 days total (including weekends).

seven201 · 11/09/2021 12:54

@Gardenlady543 I really hope you do get both the biopsies done.

That's good it was that quick. She said it's 3 weeks but mine isn't being sent off until Monday, so she thinks before the end of the month. Normally I'd be stressed waiting but as I've got the coil In at the moment it's not important for it to be quick. Although I think I can't book my next FET cycle in until the results are here.

@Gardenlady543 how did your scan go?

How is everyone else?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 13/09/2021 13:47

Hey @seven201 we got our consents for our FET today 😬 starting to get closer and I'm feeling a bit anxious. Our planning consultation is on Wednesday, so will just be waiting for our meds and af.

I'm sorry about your embryo, hot my fingers crossed that your results come back soon with positive news.

Hope everyone is getting on OK xx

seven201 · 13/09/2021 14:07

@VenusStarr well done. That sounds like good progress. I always think getting the meds is a big thing!

OP posts:
Gardenlady543 · 13/09/2021 14:56

@seven201 so my specialist decided over 8mm would be fine on Friday as I think it's unlikely I'm going to get over 9mm. When the nurse started measuring me today my readings were the same as Friday, but she then managed to get one of 8.3mm, so we're going with that one. They took my blood progesterone as it needs to be
