Hi can I join please?
I’m reading through many of your posts and although there’s a lot..you all seem lovely and very supportive!

We’ve been TTC for almost 8 yrs now and to cut a very long story short I’ve got my last hope of DE IVF due to start at the end of this month. I should be excited and buzzing to get started but somehow Im flat & want to get it over with!?

Really need some hope that this one works..any success stories & positive vibes welcome.

Thanks for reading x

Scrumpy10 · 02/01/2022 16:29

Happy New Year Everyone
Welcome @Paige2207

Hopeful199 · 03/01/2022 01:15

Welcome @Paige2207!

There are lots of positive stories out there. If this is your finals chance then I would say try and get into a positive mindset for it. I know it’s hard but you need have faith in the process. Have you tried relaxation and meditation? I have found Dr Google research to be a huge negative distraction so now only sticking to good stories and factual reads. The rest is depressing but we know it’s possible so have to keep believing.

Wishing you lots of luck x

Paige2207 · 03/01/2022 14:47

Thank you @Hopeful199 and @Scrumpy10 and happy new year 😊
How are you doing with your treatments? How is stims going, hopefully the side effects are kind?

Yeah I’m trying that and getting out for walks, listening to podcasts and thinking about acupuncture? Has anyone tried it and if so, how was it? X

Hopeful199 · 03/01/2022 14:57

Good work @Paige2207! Sounds like they are all the right kinds of things to do definitely

I am only on down reg at the moment. I am on day 11 of injections with a scan tomorrow. Was hoping to start stims this week but haven’t had a bleed on Buserelin so not sure what that means now!?!! Clinic didn’t seem to worried but everything I read says you need a bleed to progress??

I have been listening to the big fat negative podcast which I think is good. It is not all lighthearted though so have to scan the episodes or be in the right mindset, but lots of useful information and interviews.

I have also been doing acupuncture once a week. I was sceptical…. Still not sure how I feel…. But I do know that I feel soo much calmer than I have in a long time about fertility and TTC and I’m sure it had played a part. Even if it’s placebo….. if it helps, I’m in!

Hi…I hope it’s ok for me to join in this discussion. Had a frozen embryo transfer a few days before Christmas. Found out today it’s hasn’t worked. This was the feeling I’ve been dreading the most. I have two other embryos in the freezer. I’m 43 in a few weeks and just feel age isn’t on my side. My clinic should phone me tomorrow to tell me what my options are but right now I feel completely rubbish. Just wondered if there might be someone out there who understands?

Hopeful199 · 03/01/2022 18:16

@Emu4 I’m so sorry this round hasn’t worked. Just the worst.

I don’t have much advice I’m afraid as only at the beginning of our journey, but sending hugs and hoping the clinic has some answers for you tomorrow x

Pinklady81 · 03/01/2022 18:40

Hello hope it's okay for me to join been lurking around for a few months I'm awaiting meds to start my first FET at 40 then down reg after due to severe endo any words of wisdom for a first timer supplements tips to stay calm wild be helpful . Praying all you wonderful ladies out there get your wish this year xx

Emu4 · 03/01/2022 19:09

@Hopeful199 Thanks for your kind words. I’m just finding it all such an emotional rollercoaster. Trying to stay positive…just another hurdle to get over!

Hopeful199 · 04/01/2022 10:06

Hi @Pinklady81 someone recommended the app ‘mindful IVF’ to me which I have found useful,

They are like mini meditations for each stage of the process. Helped me to feel calmer and to get to sleep, which I usually struggle with

@Emu4 I know, it’s just so unfair. Sending hugs and hope the clinic can give you a way forward today?

I have just been for a follow up scan. Am on day 12 of Buserelin. Looks like it has worked on one side but not so well on the other. AF also looks like it’s coming today which is needed….. first time I have been relived!

Now got to extend injections and wait a bit longer…… fingers crossed I can move to stims soon!

simpleabundance · 04/01/2022 10:18

Hi there,
Is it okay if I join this thread. Happy New Year and good luck to all you Ladies in the tww or starting / in the middle of stims.

I got my first ever BFP four weeks ago on my 44th birthday after a frozen transfer . My 8 week scan last week showed that growth is 2 weeks behind. We were told that this is not looking good and we return tomorrow for another scan.
I am very anxious but I feel I know the outcome. I am already thinking ahead and panicking about the waiting time to start another frozen transfer. We have one frozen embryo left . Do any of you know if there are clinics which have short waiting times ? Our current clinic (Belfast) is at least 8 months waiting time and time is not on my side .

I hope you are all keeping well

Scrumpy10 · 04/01/2022 21:29

@paige2207 I am currently having weekly fertility acupuncture and I think if nothing else it makes me feel a lot more relaxed.

Hopeful199 · 04/01/2022 21:36

@simpleabundance I’m so sorry to hear you don’t think it’s progressing. Sending hugs and hoping it’s not as you fear. Will be thinking of you tomorrow

Not sure how it works in Belfast but my clinic doesn’t have much of a wait for private patients. Think it’s different for NHS though (which is entirely unfair) Are you thinking of switching clinics if you need to cycle again?

Paige2207 · 04/01/2022 23:03

Yeh @Hopeful199 I’ve been using that app too Find the guy so soothing & talks a lot of sense..something about that Irish accent helps too 😉 how are you getting on with the injections? Fingers crossed for your bleed tho!

@Emu4 I’m so sorry your FET didn’t work this time. It’s hard isn’t it, I hope you get some useful feedback from the clinic and take time to take care of you. We’ve had 2 failed Donor Egg FETs the past year and only have one embryo left and totally understand how you are feeling. Sending love & hugs to you.

@Scrumpy10 yeah I definitely want to give it a try. Will throw everything at this last one. Can’t hurt I suppose!

@simpleabundance I hope that tomorrow goes better for you. It must be agony waiting. All I can say about our clinic is that we’ve had 3 months between our FETs and we’re NHS but may be different for each region? x

MrsLouB · 05/01/2022 14:31

Hi ladies would you mind if I joined? I'm 41 and 5 months and looking at doing our 2nd go at IVF or DE still looking into it. We have tried for 15 gears, with 1 fresh IVF and 2 x FET sadly only 1 took and then stopped growing at 6 weeks.

So here we are 2 years later and now thinking I need one last shot! So still undecided which way to go and which clinic etc.

Scrumpy10 · 05/01/2022 16:34

Hi All, so after the news that my ovarian reserve was very low and follicle scan was 0 to 2 I had a bit of a meltdown as was upset and shocked.I sent my results to another clinic in the UK and they said the same thing and also recommended I proceed with donor eggs.

Anyway over the holidays I have looked in to donor eggs and contacted a clinic in Greece. They have asked me to have another scan this time at the start of my cycle. So the consideration now is if I am suitable for ovarian rejuvenation or DE in Greece. Has anyone else had experience with treatment abroad?

Since I got my results I have changed my vitamins to include COQ10 and DHEA. Plus been having weekly accupuncture. Not sure if it will make any difference but will be interesting to see if any follicles are visible this time.

LouScot · 06/01/2022 20:41

@Scrumpy10 oh, sorry to hear you were upset. I've not had a round of ivf yet but it's already been suggested that I consider donor eggs. Its not something I want to consider yet, especially as I'm single and will be using donor sperm. I'm going to give the IVF a shot and take it from there. I'm really interested in ovarian rejuvenation though, could I pm you ?

Hopeful199 · 06/01/2022 21:16

Welcome @MrsLouB!

Sorry to hear your previous rounds didn’t work out but wishing you lots of luck with a new round 🍀 Have you got clinics in mind? When are you hoping to start?

I went for a scan today hoping to start stims but one ovary isn’t behaving properly and they can see a return of endo and choc cysts on the other side. Lining also too thick so have to go back tomorrow for a blood test to work out what to do next. Was feeling quite hopeful until today but it just reminded me that there is so far to go 😞 had a little cry on the platform and now got to carry on and hope it falls into place and I can start menopur soon. I think I also heard that there aren’t many follicles….. but was too chicken to clarify as figure it is what it is and if it’s low it just gives me something else to worry about!

Hope everyone else is having a good week x

Scrumpy10 · 06/01/2022 21:40

@LouScot yes of course

@MrsLouB Welcome and sorry to hear you have not had success but wishing you luck for the next round.

@Hopeful199 sorry to hear you have been upset. Good luck with the blood tests.

MrsLouB · 07/01/2022 06:12

Hi, @Hopeful199 thanks for the welcome and so sorry to hear you are upset, and sending luck with the new tests. I have been the same you build up hope and then something knocks you back.
@Scrumpy10 thanks for the welcome.

I don't think we are looking to start until summer I need to look into this more and save a ton of money! I don't want to get into a huge amount of debt and the anxiety is worse for me that way too. I am also really undecided as to the right way to go. My AMH is low or was but we still got 9 mature eggs on our first fresh and was able to use 3 of those ( 2 x FET) but again 2 didn't take and one ended early didn't even get to the viability scan. So I need to know if it's me my body, my lining etc that the issue as if it is no eggs are going to work. My lining some months doesn't even get to the minimum of 7.

I have been looking at clinics abroad due to costs, and their numbers are so much better than the UK, so Gennet and Repofit in Prague are on the list.

Xx

BegoniaGal7 · 07/01/2022 11:26

Hi all, is it alright if I join? I'm 40 and doing a natural cycle FET this month/next, depending on when my period comes. We had a successful transfer with the same set of embryos previously, and this will be our very last attempt at a pregnancy. We feel so lucky to have had success once already but I am anticipating a bit of heartbreak if this round doesn't work. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Hopeful199 · 08/01/2022 20:59

Welcome @BegoniaGal7

I am on long protocol so not exactly the same situation. Everything is crossed for you for another successful round. It’s a rollercoaster eh?

I was hoping to start stims this week but one ovary hasn’t responded properly to the down reg so sticking with Buserelin for another week and hoping for a better picture next week…….

ringofrain · 09/01/2022 22:57

Hi, I just saw here is age 40+ and I am above 43, can I join here? also want to know if someone have experience with CRGH can recommend which doctor is better with patient?

Hopeful199 · 10/01/2022 06:58

Hi @ringofrain

I have no experience of CRGH I’m afraid….. but welcome to the thread Smile

Good luck in your journey! Is this your first cycle?

ringofrain · 10/01/2022 22:13

thank you@hopeful199, I had a bit experience with Create 3 years ago, but IVF treatment stopped for some reason, then pandemic started, now I felt I have to give myself chance to try again, thinking which clinic is better for my age, no time to waste now...:(
