Hey ladies ☺️

A new thread to continue the one we've maxed out from the FET cycle buddies May/June. Anyone wishing to join no matter what stage you're at we're here to support you along the way.

A little background around me - I have a little boy who's 16mo from my second IVF round in 2019. I'm just embarking (restarting after covid setback) on my first FET cycle with the embryos I have in storage in the hope for baby #2 🤞🏼
I have severe endometriosis, hydrosalpinx tubes which have been removed so my only hope is for IVF to work again. It's been a long old journey but if I can give any hope, faith and a tonne of support to anyone who needs it I'm happy to share my story, updates on my cycle and be there to have a general chin wag ☺️

We've got this! ✨ x

Oh my days @PinkRose100 I missed your test news this morning!!! Tentative (but big) congratulations!

Ah that’s put such a smile on my face. Grin

Has your bleeding stopped?

Verbena87 · 04/10/2021 21:02

And @Bluemeadowbaby sorry to hear about your period being a literal pain in the bum. Have a couple of friends with endo so I’ve some idea of what agony it can be.

Woken to a digital positive pregnancy test so HCG levels increasing but also woken to what can only be described as full flow period. I’ve had lots of miscarriages before but this new IVF journey is inducing a whole next level of crazy 😵‍💫🤯😫 I really wanted to try again next cycle if this failed but I’m worried if I tell them I’m positive I know they’ll make me wait a cycle before I can try again. The thought of not doing anything for a month is the hardest thing to get my head around. x

Verbena87 · 05/10/2021 10:57

Oh fingers tightly tightly crossed @PinkRose100 - when my last try didn’t work I asked whether the advice to wait a cycle was for any medical/physical reason and they said no, just to give you time emotionally and can be decided on a case by case basis, so worth asking. I hadn’t had a bfp but I also didn’t test at all before OTD so they don’t know I didn’t, if that makes sense? That said, my follow up appointment was too slow to go straight into the next cycle so I think there was 1 cycle between tries. Anyway, fingers crossed you won’t need to think about it.

I’m still struggling whether to test. Have you had a positive on an evening test? I can’t do FMU on the 8th (otd) or 7th because I have to be out the house for work by 7 and just can’t face working if it’s bad news, so will need to either do fmu tomorrow (poss too early still so will stress me out) or after work Friday.

Sorry, waffling. Thinking out loud.

PinkRose100 · 05/10/2021 11:07

@Verbena87 typically I can’t get hold of the clinic today. It will be so frustrating to miss a cycle just because I can’t get an appointment when we’re paying so much money. Good to know there’s no medical reason to wait.
Yes I had positives in the evening, as long as you try to hold it for around 3 hours before it should be strong enough to detect the hormone I would think. Let us know how you get on xx

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 13:31

Hello ladies,
I've had so much going on so totally been MIA! I've just had the time to catch up on the last few pages of thread... Now considering it a memory challenge to write to everyone without going back over it... Here goes...

@Bluemeadowbaby lovely to read ur funny messages... Sorry about ur butt period and full on drop out... Hoping ur feeling well. I can't believe u are still waiting on ur FET! Seems like ages... But not long now xxx

@Verbena87... Again ur updates make me giggle sometimes... I have everything crossed for u for Friday xxx

@PinkRose100... I hope things work out for you and everything crossed xxx

@2mumlife... Glad you read that you have a nice embie for transfer and hope it comes soon for you xxx

@Francesmalin... Just thought I would mention that my last egg collection was 10 with only 3 mature. I was devastated but one did result in my DD. For my next cycle I have, for the last three months, taken Dhea, coq10 (ubiquinol), alpha lipoic acid, omega 3, wheatgrass, melotonin and women proceive vitamins. My last FSH in May deemed me NOT viable for IVF (15.2)... However 3 months on supplement taking my FSH is 6 and AMH 5 so we can go ahead. All these supplements are supposed to make the ovaries work better and improve the quality of eggs. Just be mindful Dhea is a hormone and u should check your testosterone levels if u take. BTW I'm 41. Lots of luck to u xx

@Pingupp... So many congrats for baby Pingupp... Wishing u a healthy, happy pregnancy xxx

I'm so sorry if I've missed anyone!

As for me, I'm currently sitting in a bubble bath in my Prague hotel room. I had my pre op bloods and tests today at my clinic ready for my hysteroscopy tomm morning. My clinic are insisting on it due to two previous c sections and I couldn't afford one in the UK. It has been nice to meet my coordinator. I will fly home tomm evening with my stimms medication... I will find out what this will be tomm. First ivf was gonal f and ovitrelle, second was Menopur and something else. I got more mature eggs from gonal f (and my DS resulted) but got only 3 mature from Menopur however one was excellent quality (with DD resulting). Will see. On another positive, my partner has also had bad sperm results resulting in us needing ICSI... But I put him on tonnes of vitamins and supplements and his latest sperm check was SHOCKINGLY FANTASTIC!! He's very pleased with himself and strutting around like a manly peacock!! Lol xx

Francesmalin · 05/10/2021 16:20

Hello @firefly37 thanks for sharing. I have just ordered loads of supplements to boost the maturity process of my eggs, including vitamin E, C, cq10 and myo-inositol.

I am in a limbo cause the clinic can't explain why 2 cycles were unsuccessful but I spoke to someone today who thinks that they didn't give me the best care and there should be someone else able to help. I have polycystic ovaries so the Fertility therapist I saw thinks that my oocyte needs a bit of boosting 😂😂😂

Which clinic are you with in Prague? Someone on a separate thread recommended gennet.

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 16:30

Hi @Francesmalin
If u have polycys ovaries then I don't think dhea will be needed for u. The others u have ordered sound good... I didn't really believe in the supplements but with the results my partner and I have had, I now very much do!
I had my DS on an NHS funded cycle at Bourn Hall. I then went to Reprofit, Brno, Czech for my DD... But due to travelling only really, I have moved to Gennet in Prague. More frequent flights, easier to get to etc... No complaints about Reprofit, they get the job done but excited for my final journey with Gennet xx

Francesmalin · 05/10/2021 16:41

Nice! I've heard a lot of people being successful with Gennet and anoother girl was in the same situation as me and she ended up being pregnant. I might reach out to them for a second opinion when I am ready. No rush for me at the moment!

Verbena87 · 05/10/2021 16:43

Ah @firefly37 it’s lovely to hear from you again Grin - loving the image of your husband’s manly peacock-strut of pride.

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 16:46

@Francesmalin... It is significantly lower cost to come to Czech and the treatment is great. The biggest thing for us is we have always needed ICSI (apparently not now with old supersperm! Lol) and they don't charge extra for it here whereas in the UK it usually adds £1k. I'm glad u are taking time out and not having to rush... My age and AMH status won't allow it for me! I really wish u all the luck in the world when u do decide to move forward x

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 16:51

@Verbena87... His masculinity increased overnight Grinlol!! We are very open with everyone about our fertility and journey to have babies... So he's been saying to anyone who will listen "have u heard about my sperm?!" and "woaaahh don't sit too close to me, u may get pregnant with my supersperm!!" xx

Verbena87 · 05/10/2021 17:45

@firefly37 this alone makes me wish you were our friends in real life. We’ve always been open with friends too - I am rubbish at putting on a brave face so it really helps if everything’s out in the open.

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 17:54

Awww... Thanks @Verbena87!
We have never hidden it... We are proud of what we have got through. We know how incredibly lucky we are to have two amazing IVF babies and when they are old enough to understand, they will be told how much we wanted them and what amazing miracles they are (I may leave out the finer details of leaky meds up the vag, womb hoovering, becoming a hormonal raging lunatic and daddy "doing it by hand" in a room with clingfilm wrapped magazines and remote controls!! Lol) xxx

Verbena87 · 05/10/2021 18:34

Yeah, age appropriate details but fundamental honesty is always the way I think (my mum told me off for calling egg collection “needle-in-the-ovaries-wank-in-a-cup day” in conversation. Even though she is a grown up. Will probably use different language with our son when he’s old enough to be interested)

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 18:55

Lollololololol... My mum joins in the inappropriate chat... She's most irritated at the moment that she can't abuse the other half over his swimmers anymore!

Francesmalin · 05/10/2021 20:25

You girls always make me smile! This is very good thread and that's why I didn't stop watching it 😂

@firefly37 you are starting cycle 3 now, right?

firefly37 · 05/10/2021 20:28

@Francesmalin... I had a failed FET (from DD fresh cycle) in July. We had said that was our last try and we wouldn't do another fresh... But here we are... Yes about to start fresh cycle 3! Blush xx

firefly37 · 06/10/2021 09:55

Morning all,
So at my clinic waiting to go down for hysteroscopy. Have just been shown all my meds... New protocol this time based on the fact that only 3 out of 10 eggs were mature last time with menopur. I have Pergovis this time along with cetrotide, ovitrelle to trigger and then progesterone I can't remember name but all the same really. The doctor here has great success with Pergovis apparently. Stims to start next period... 10 day estimated stimulation so would be back here for egg collection etc in a month!! Xx

Francesmalin · 06/10/2021 10:17

Exciting @firefly37! Seems like they know what they are doing well! Ask them if they have experience with all eggs immature for me!!! 😛😛😛 Lol!

Finger crossed for you

PinkRose100 · 06/10/2021 10:49

Good luck @firefly37! xx

firefly37 · 06/10/2021 10:58

Thanks ladies...
@Francesmalin... Pergoveris is for immature eggs... Contains fsh and lh which I was told will improve maturity xx

firefly37 · 06/10/2021 10:58

I highly recommend this clinic so far... So friendly and professional. Xx
