Hi all, I had a search and didn't see a thread for September/October. If there is one already please let me know and I'll join. I'll be starting stims at the end of September/early October with the Lister. I'm pretty terrified tbh, would be happy to hear from anyone else starting around the same time. I'm a first-timer and we'll be having ICSI (possibly IMSI).

Hi all, my transfer is Saturday so looking forward to joining you! X

paintfairy · 07/10/2021 22:24

@Bobtat good luck tomorrow!

Sarah2328 · 07/10/2021 22:53

@Justawannabemam

I hope your scan goes well, don't look into it too much, I had to do my stims for a few more days just so some of the follicles could get bigger.

I was exactly the same I didn't know what to expect, I was reading people's stories that had a large amount of eggs retrieved etc and when I got 12 I was disappointed, but I look back now and I managed to get 4 embryos that made it to a blastocyst.

Try not to be negative and be positive about the whole process, trust your body, as hard as it is. Having a google about things is the worst thing ever, I guess everyone is different and everyone's body is different.

I have everything crossed for you, this is my first round of ivf on the NHS and my only round I got too. I'm 32, partner is 29 and all we want is a loving family.

This 2 weeks wait really is the worst, but just trying to stay positive.

@Bobtat i wish you all the best, make sure you have that full bladder 😄 believe me it will be the best wee ever after. Fingers crossed you also get some Frosties

X

Sarah2328 · 07/10/2021 22:54

@RoddyRoo I wish you all the best too 😘

Justawannabemam · 08/10/2021 05:40

@Sarah2328 aww thank you for those words. My app is later this morning, my mother in law is coming with me. My partner has just started a new job so can't really have much time off . His booked Monday off so that's why I really hope it's then, as he said last night he will struggle to get Wednesday off . FFS like I'm sure he thinks they can work around him.!!

How comes you only get one try on NHS? Ours has a cut off age of 40.

Hope your feeling OK this morning . Take care .

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 08:20

@Justawannabemam I wish you all the best for the scan. I'm not sure what clinic your with but guys hospital were very strict with COVID and only allowed another person with me on the days they were needed. So my scan before egg collection I had to go alone and then when I had the embryo implanted I also had to go alone, they wouldn't even allow my latter to sit in the waiting room so he waiting at the entrance of the hospital for me.

I can only think they give one round now because of cut backs and possibly the area that you live in.

Fingers crossed it is Monday for you xx

Justawannabemam · 08/10/2021 15:28

So I had my scan.

I had 4 on the right ovary and she said there was nothing showing on the left but they would check on Monday at EC.

I'm not sure what's good normal or bad for amount . He was quoting numbers 21 .22 17 and something else . They wouldn't know how many eggs until they've drained the fluid on Monday

Fingers crossed .

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 16:04

@Justawannabemam

To me that reads they could see 4 follicles on your right overy, the numbers is the size of the follicles, they like them to be around 17 and above as they are more than likely to contain an egg as not all follicles contain an egg.

Fingers crossed for you, you never know Monday they may be able to see more follicles. X

Justawannabemam · 08/10/2021 16:10

@Sarah2328 so do you think that's only 4 eggs . When I went last Monday there were some on the left side. She said that some could develop still but I guess unlikely.

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 16:22

@Justawannabemam try not to think negative, you still got a few days for them follicles to grow. And fingers crossed there are some on the left ovaries.

But ultimately all you need is that one egg to fertilise and become an embryo.

I have my fingers crossed for you, continue taking your meds and try not to stress about how many eggs you could have. I know its easier said than done but honestly you will drive yourself round the bend.

Justawannabemam · 08/10/2021 16:29

@Sarah2328 thank you. 😔.

Hope your feeling okay . I think ill put my phone down for the night and stop googling.

Have a lovely evening x.

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 16:36

@Justawannabemam honestly having a google is the worst thing ever because you think the worst.

I have my fingers crossed for you, I know it's hard, try and and have a relaxing evening with your hubby 😘 x

RoddyRoo · 08/10/2021 16:41

It sounds like everyone has been through so much already! I was on another thread but it was August/sept I think and I ended up starting on 20th Sept so nearing the TWW now.
It only takes one egg @Sarah2328 and you’ve already done so much, be kind to yourself. X

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 16:46

@RoddyRoo this is such a hard process for everyone. I have my fingers crossed for you, when is your test date? X

RoddyRoo · 08/10/2021 16:53

@Sarah2328 not sure, Transfer is tomorrow so I think they’ll tell me then (I think I hope). I haven’t heard from the clinic since Tuesday (day after EC) so I’m looking forward to an update on how many embryos have made it to day 5 when we get there tomorrow x

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 17:04

@RoddyRoo ooo apologies, I thought you have the transfer already 🙈

I wish you the best of luck for tomorrow, I believe that's a good sign you haven't heard from the clinic as for sure you have a day 5 blastocyst to be transferred.

Best of luck for some Frosties too. You will enjoy that wee after the transfer, I was busting 🙊

I'm so anxious and just want to test now 😣 x

RoddyRoo · 08/10/2021 17:08

@Sarah2328 I can only imagine, is it a home year or so the clinic invite you back for bloods? When can you test? It’s all so exciting though! Fingers crossed the days go fast for you x

RoddyRoo · 08/10/2021 17:08

So many autocorrects in that message! So sorry, I meant - is it a home test

Sarah2328 · 08/10/2021 17:12

@RoddyRoo it's a home test, they told me to test on the 14th, still got another 6 days 😣😣. X

Bobtat · 08/10/2021 18:31

@RoddyRoo good luck for tomorrow.
Mine was today

@Csparkles how did you get on?

How is everyone else feeling?

Bobtat · 08/10/2021 19:00

I don't know if it will be anyone's cup of tea but there's an app called Mindful IVF (think it's free - can't remember). I used it on my successful transfers but forgot about it and hubby reminded me about it today. It's basically meditation I guess - breathing exercises and a nice Irish chap talking to you and saying encouraging things to help you feel relaxed and positive whilst spa music plays. It can feel a bit silly but they have one for each event, like egg collection, pre and post transfer, the 2ww, test day etc. and (although it can be quite funny - he talks about "the fertile body") it's actually quite sweet and nice to carve out a bit of time for rest and reflection. Anyways - just thought I'd mention in case it appeals to anyone. I just did the post-transfer one and feel quite chilled

Csparkles · 08/10/2021 19:29

@Bobtat transfer went well and was quite quick, just a bit of discomfort with the speculum but that's expected.. how did yours go..
@RoddyRoo all the best for tomorow
@Justawannabemam good luck for Monday

Bobtat · 08/10/2021 20:47

@Csparkles same thanks. Glad to be home relaxing now!

paintfairy · 09/10/2021 08:53

@Bobtat @Csparkles I'm pleased everything went well. Fingers crossed for you both. 🤞
@RoddyRoo good luck today!
@Justawannabemam it is hard not to think too much into it. But things can change a lot in a few days. Fingers crossed for Monday!

Dizzyhedgehog · 09/10/2021 09:04

Well, we didn't get a phone call yesterday so some must have fertilised. Not sure how many or whether they will make it to day 5. Guess we'll find out on Tuesday.
I'm on half term now, so lots of time to relax and catch up on some sleep.

Good luck if you've just had your transfer. Hope they settle in and decide to stay.
