Hi all, I had a search and didn't see a thread for September/October. If there is one already please let me know and I'll join. I'll be starting stims at the end of September/early October with the Lister. I'm pretty terrified tbh, would be happy to hear from anyone else starting around the same time. I'm a first-timer and we'll be having ICSI (possibly IMSI).

@Halftime23 thank you. Its our first time. Everything is so nerve racking . Good luck for tomorrow . Please come back on and let us know how it goes. Where are you hvn your treatment at ?

Halftime23 · 06/10/2021 18:44

Thanks @Bobtat and @Justawannabemam.

We’re at the Lister. It’s our first cycle so just working it all out as we go, been on a short protocol so it feels like it’s come around really quickly all of a sudden. We have severe MFI so I’m more concerned about day 3 update than anything else.. just hope we have something to transfer.

Have been following all your stories and lurking for a while, sending everyone so much love and positivity!

paintfairy · 06/10/2021 19:25

@Halftime23 good luck tomorrow!
@Alexm06 I know what you mean. I think I'd be worrying about the same things. I guess you just have to trust they know what they are doing? It's hard though.

Alexm06 · 06/10/2021 19:30

@Bobtat I'm only on progynova and then cyclogest and lubion before and after transfer. I'm pretty sure I ovulated though as I had a prominent follicle just before my ovulation but who knows.

@paintfairy yeah I'm going to do my best to just get on with life and try not to think about it. I start a new job Tuesday so hopefully will take my mind off things for a while

unknownscot · 07/10/2021 07:18

@BuffyFanForever

Feeling al the meds but was before the transfer as I’m on a fair bit of stuff! Official test day is 13th but might go for 11th
Hi

Jumping on here - I'm 3dp5dt FET - I'm going stir crazy already 😩

Bobtat · 07/10/2021 09:26

@Alexm06 ah yeah - got you. You're supposed to ovulate aren't you before you start the progynova. Hopefully your doctors are on top of it all. When will they let you know re transfer? Don't suppose you can push your job start back a week? Self-isolating or something???

@unknownscot welcome! Hope your transfer went well. Have you done one before? Mine is tomorrow Smile

Csparkles · 07/10/2021 09:45

@Bobtat Hi, how are you feeling about tomorrow.. Have you been given a time yet.. Good luck to you. Hope all goes well.Smile

Alexm06 · 07/10/2021 09:59

@Bobtat I started progynova on the 3rd day of my cycle but I've read your not meant to ovulate but km pretty sure I did. Anyways yeah im just going to have to trust them. They called yesterday and said it would definitely be Wednesday but would call today with a time. I went to my new job and got my shifts as it's shift work and I'm off on Wednesday thank god so that's a bit of relief.

Is it tomorrow you are transferring?

unknownscot · 07/10/2021 10:00

Good luck for tomorrow.

Yeah this is our third cycle, second transfer.

CYCLE 1
22 eggs
14 fertilised
1 day 5 frozen
Failed FET

CYCLE 2
34 eggs
5 fertilised
0 day 5

CYCLE 3
27 eggs
18 fertilised
2 day 5 frozen (5AB and 3BB)
1 Day 6 frozen (4CB)

We transferred our 5AB on Monday xx

Bobtat · 07/10/2021 10:34

@Csparkles I'm feeling a lot more relaxed this time thanks. Kind of trying the "what will be will be" approach. I am quite tired though. How about you?

@Alexm06 yeah tomorrow! It's great that you are off Wednesday. Will have everything crossed for you. I'm sure the doctors know what they are doing. They wouldn't put you in a position where you didn't have a viable chance.

@unknownscot ooooh 5AB is excellent. Exciting. Well done on getting those embies! Hats off to you
doing those fresh rounds too. I just did the one fresh cycle a good few years back now and I remember how taxing it was. We decided to give all the frosties we got from the fresh cycle a chance so this (tomorrow) is my 4th (out of 5 embies) transfer and we have one DD (fresh) one DS (FET) and then we did one FET which didn't stick a couple of months back.

Csparkles · 07/10/2021 12:52

@Bobtat to be honest I am a bit nervous thinking about the procedure as I have a retroverted uterus and I have read that it can be painful. The clinic have said I don't need to come in with a full bladder though, so that's one thing less to worry about.

Hope everyone else is doing ok..

Alexm06 · 07/10/2021 13:32

@Bobtat good luck for tomorrow!

Bobtat · 07/10/2021 13:42

@Csparkles I have a retroverted uterus too - it's been ok for me. Try not to to worry too much - it should be a fairly simple,quick procedure.

Dizzyhedgehog · 07/10/2021 14:26

@unknownscot
Wow...that's loads each time. Good luck.

We've had our first egg collection this morning and they got 8 (which is more than they expected because only 6 big enough ones could be seen last Friday). Transfer will be next Tuesday, if there's anything to transfer. Fingers crossed. I hope it works out.

Bobtat · 07/10/2021 14:57

@Dizzyhedgehog Well done on your collection - hope you aren't feeling too sore and that you get some good ones for Tuesday x

Csparkles · 07/10/2021 15:30

@Bobtat thankyou.. that's good to know. You've put my mind at ease..

Halftime23 · 07/10/2021 15:31

Congrats @Dizzyhedgehog. How are you feeling?

On the same timescales as you. Had egg collection this morning and I’m exhausted!

Dizzyhedgehog · 07/10/2021 15:40

Good luck @Halftime23, I hope it works out for you. Is your transfer next week, too?

I'm not sore at all, to be honest. I'm feeling pretty good and have been cleared to go back to work tomorrow. Have spent the day on the sofa watching TV and trying to drink the three litres of water I'm meant to down daily. :)
However, I've been through three laparoscopies and was back on my feet pretty much as soon as the epidural wore off when I had DS. So, my body seems to be OK with this. At least one thing that's working. :)
I hope you get lots of rest, though. Friday tomorrow and then it's the weekend already.

Justawannabemam · 07/10/2021 16:42

@Dizzyhedgehog fi gers crossed for you . I've got a scan tomorrow and I'm hoping g they tell me EC is Monday . Did you get sedated. We have a 2.5 hour drive home so I'm thinking should I book somewhere to stay .

Sarah2328 · 07/10/2021 16:47

Hey everyone, hope you don't mind me jumping on.

Little bit about myself, I've had 2 ectopic pregnancies which resulted in having both my Fallopian tubes removed.

After a long waiting game finally got funding for IVF at guys and started treatment in September. I was made aware on the day they were going to do ICSI due to partner having low motility. As a result I had 12 eggs collected, 2 were immature, 8 fertilised and 4 made it to blastocyst.

On Sunday 03/10 I had a 5AB transferred (day 5) and 3 made it to the freezer.

So I am now 4 days after my transfer, and I am feeling so anxious, I feel like the days are just dragging. My test day is the 14th.

I've had very tender breasts and abdom cramping, but I also had this whilst doing the stims. Can anyone share there experiences with me, did you have any symptoms?

I wish you all the best of luck, this is not an easy journey xx

Justawannabemam · 07/10/2021 16:57

@Sarah2328 sound positive . Good luck . Easy journey? Ya telling me Crickey I've never cried so much 😂 I think im being too hopeful but I cannot be negative. Positive thoughts all the way .x

Dizzyhedgehog · 07/10/2021 16:58

@Justawannabemam
I was given a general anaesthetic and was awake and up again after 30 minutes. They've told me paracetamol and ibuprofen are OK to take, should I need them. Haven't been in any pain, though.

We are a 40 minute drive from the clinic, so my dad drove us this morning and then took us back home. (DH doesn't drive.) I've not been allowed to drive today and DH is meant to keep an eye on me for 24h, but nothing major. It depends, though. My colleague has had it done three times and suggested I take the day off tomorrow, too. She didn't come round properly after the anaesthetic and it seemed to have been a whole lot harder on her.

I hope yours will go well. I'd probably take the day off and not plan too much else for the next few days.

Sarah2328 · 07/10/2021 17:04

@Justawannabemam as in this process is not easy mentally and physically, it's good to have this forum to speak to people going through the same process.

And thanks you, fingers crossed, I just want to test now. 😣 what stage are you at?

Justawannabemam · 07/10/2021 19:05

@Sarah2328 yeh I knew what you meant . I was just meaning I've had ups and downs.
I'm going for a scan tomorrow and hopefully egg collection on Monday. I went last Monday and they increased my meds so I'm hoping it's worked. I really don't know what to expect. What numbers are normal or anything . I've kinda stopped researching it bc everyone can be so different . And like I've read on here it's quality not quantity.
I've been for a covid swap today so apart from going to the hospital tomorrow I've got to isolate until Monday.

My partner has low sperm count so were having ICSI, it wasn't particularly low but I think bc im 40 they arent wasting any time. We only get one go on NHS although that's not set in stone . I had to wait bc of covid so I'll see what they say about another try if we need it .x

Bobtat · 07/10/2021 21:29

@Sarah2328 ahhh best of luck. The 2ww is so hard - you feel like time is moving so slowly and you go crazy analysing every little thing! I'll be joining you shortly - my transfer is tomorrow.
