IVF September/October 2021

Hi all, I had a search and didn't see a thread for September/October. If there is one already please let me know and I'll join. I'll be starting stims at the end of September/early October with the Lister. I'm pretty terrified tbh, would be happy to hear from anyone else starting around the same time. I'm a first-timer and we'll be having ICSI (possibly IMSI).

@bobtat Hi how are you? I don't feel any symptoms too. When is your test date? Mine's on the 19th, not sure if I'll be able to wait that long. Have already stocked up on tests.

@Csparkles I don't feel too bad. We had a 2 hour drive home so not long been back . Nice shower and I'm in my perjamas. Weve had a long chat on the way home about other options if none of these make it . So we will see what happens. Say a pray for me . 🙏 😄..

Are you thinking you will test early ?

Thanks @Sarah2328. I feel a bit better that we got more than 4 . I think im more relieved that part is over.

We got 2 fertilised. !!!

Fro. The 6 retrieved 4 were suitable . 2 fertilised and possibly 1 more but they weren't sure on it just yet.

So they said we go back Saturday for transfer . They said they might put both in . Would this depend on quality? Or is it not worth freezing just 1?

Another step closer. Xx

@Justawannabemam yay.. that's great news.. I think it depends on quality and age as well. If you are over 37 you are given the option of transferring two. Will you get a day 3 update?

@Csparkles no she said we would hear from them unless there was a problem.

Yes I thought that . I'm 40. So if we wanted more I'd have to go through this again. Low egg production etc. I'm a twin and I love my sister so much .(although she will kill me cos I've not told her any of this ? Haha

Had our transfer today. Of the 8 they managed to get only 3 fertilised. 2 of those were still at only 16 cells today and one had developed to morula stage, which is also slightly behind from what I understand. :( They transferred the morula but I guess the chances probably aren't terribly high.
So, onwards and upwards. If we get the negative next week, how long do we have to wait to start again?

Sorry for jumping in. @Dizzyhedgehog, it depends per policy in your clinic. In the 2 clinics where I was they made me wait 1 cycle after the fresh one, to either start another fresh stimulation, or to go on with FET. However, for FETs in a natural cycle they allow back to back transfers.

@Dizzyhedgehog its so soon to say, you never know this may work. Try stay relaxed and positive for your 2ww. I hope it all goes well.

@Dizzyhedgehog it's really hard but I think you have to stay positive. The top quality ones aren't always the ones that work. It's so hard though.

So I got a BFP 😳 can’t believe it worked 1st FET this time off for the blood test results to see the levels 🤞🏻

Thanks all. I'll try and stay positive but I'm generally also quite realistic. We've got a 10% chance of it having worked, which is tiny.
We haven't got any frozen embryos so will have to start from scratch. It's a shame because timing would have been great. My due date would have been before DS starts Reception next year. It would have given us a little time to settle in as a family without the added stress of him starting school. Oh well...
