@thislittlebird that is sooooooo frustrating. My situation was different because I didn’t have a bad appointment or beef with a particular person mine was more that I just dropped off the edge of nowhere after having it in writing when we were going to start. That’s so frustrating that she’s painting herself as the good guy but at least you have your appointment next week and can hopefully move forward and leave the gynaecologist in the past!

@GJW2018 true, yours wasn’t a specific person. The thing is I did say I don’t want to appoint blame, I want solutions to this mess, please. Maybe they have helped me with the Guys appointment, I’ll ask when I speak to them. The complaints team woman has been great tbh, and I can’t fault her.

Our new GP said to me you did the right thing, other people would accept the outcome of such an appointment instead of paying for second opinions privately as we did, and they would get screwed by the system. It’s crazy really how variable it all is.

@thislittlebird I completely agree you did the right thing and hopefully that gynaecology will reflect on her practice and make some changes!

@HereToLearnAndShare I am glad you aren't feeling too differently. What time are you going in today?? Wishing you good luck!! I think the meds are definitely dummy resistant haha, I don't think you messed it up at all. It is so stressful. Hope it goes well and you get some good updates from the embryologist and doctor after.

Well I have been a bit frustrated this week as the nurses said I can start FET anytime I get my period this week but I can't change my dr appt Tuesday to earlier. I said all I want is a 10 min convo phone to see what happened before I start FET but you know how they are. I have been trying to read up and basically I have found that they freeze on day 1 only when there are not many to freeze and they have virtually no idea of whether they are suitable for implantation at all, so I think I want to ask the dr if I can transfer 2 because if the chances are really so slim then I don't want to waste all this time with 3 FET cycles. Just wish you could get a bit more communication from them.

@thislittlebird it is so frustrating and unfortunately deflection is a default reaction for most of them. Good luck ever getting anyone to take responsibility. At least now you are in and can have your shot.

@Vparisi I'm in at 11.10am today! Feels a bit strange tbh but hopefully it'll be ok!
Do you think your period will arrive before Tuesday? Does the FET process involve much medication? (Eg-if you start Saturday could you then abandon easy enough after Tuesday depending on their advice/your decision?)
Totally get your concerns about whether the ones they've frozen are actually decent & worth doing an FET with & I don't think that's unreasonable at all to want to talk it through. I guess it also needs clarification on what your CCG entitlement means given the circumstances because if they're only going to fund an FET & nothing else, part of you thinks do you just try the FET with what you have if you'd have to pay privately for another full cycle anyway. It's a lot to think about & completely agree it's better to have your decision based on info from the doctor that actually oversaw the cycle

@etonmess20 woo good luck!! Soo excited for you and DP was saying last night how much he also hopes for a good outcome for you!
I just got my period 5 minutes ago, so I emailed them and said I will start today if that is ok but I do want to ask about transferring two, so I am hoping now since my period is actually here that they may just give me a call earlier. Hopefully get a response from them today. It involves 4 estrogen tablets a day from now.

@Vparisi oh that's so kind of you both, after your sad news on Saturday me & DP we're both gutted for you - you just get to know people & you properly get it because you're going through the same/similar process

Hopefully it pushes them into action, they seem to think the FET is worth a go & are happy for you to continue so hopefully that's a good sign. We've both got everything & more crossed for you!

Ps- currently sat on the train trying not to wee myself, my 40 mins before the appointment are going to be fun 😂😂

I went for my last scan with Guys yesterday and all was well thank God so they’ve discharged me. Was so strange walking out, obviously the best feeling but also weird because we spent so much time there!

@GJW2018 thank you! Congratulations about being discharged too, must be so surreal!!

So transfer went well, had one 3AB embryo put back in so am officially PUPO! There's 1 more they will definitely freeze then two maybes, which they're going to confirm with me tomorrow so fingers crossed for them!
All over super quick & went for the obligatory McDonald's after to celebrate!
OTD is my birthday (5th) so everything crossed between now & then!

@vparisi I hope they will give you some clarity before the transfer! A transfer of two sounds as I good idea, I assume they will sugest it but defo worth asking the question.

Make sure you take care of yourself this afternoon, I had a 1.5 hour nap when we got home after my EC & basically didn't move for the rest of the day 😂

@Etonmess20 same here, just had a short nap and I plan to keep resting by the end of the day. Funny enough the lift was not working when we came back, so had to claim up to the 9th floor. 🥴
It is so exciting the testing day is your Bday! Hope this will be a present for you 🙏

@HereToLearnAndShare oh no, that is not what you need! I was also VERY bloated for around 3 days after & just felt generally a bit sore. Definitely treat yourself to a take away tonight if you fancy it!!

Will you be starting the FET with your next period?

@Etonmess20 yes, they confirmed that if everything is ok, we can start with my next period☺️

Do you feel any different after the transfer? I assume they told you to take it easy for the next few days?

I've been getting odd little cramps so hoping it's a good sign but going to try my best not to symptom spot! Yeah they didn't say too much about it really, the letter just says avoid strenuous activity. I'll be relaxing for the rest of the day today & taking it particularly easy Thursday/Friday too!

Ladies who have done FET, they scheduled my scan for Thursday 9th and a consent appointment for Wednesday 8th. Is that normal? Never heard about this consent appointment. Also if it is all good on scan on the 9th how soon after can I have the transfer?

@Vparisi thank you! The embryologist talk to us yes, not sure if it was much though. He explained the next steps and the risks.
From my understanding the FET can be done 14-21 days from starting the oestradiol, depending on how you are reacting. I think @GJW2018 knows better
Could the consent appt be for the 2 embryos transfer? Did you manage to discuss with them this option? If you initially signed for 1, they may want to explain the details and sign another form..

Thank you @Vparisi so I started taking the oestrogen on day 1, had a lining scan on day 16 then booked in for transfer she said it could be 5 days later as lining was thick enough but they were fully booked for then so booked it for a week later and took the pessaries 5 days before that. Not sure about a consent appointment maybe email them and ask what it’s for? Xxx

@Vparisi hmmm weird, maybe it’s about using two? Did they say all three made it?

Ladies, how long did your post-funding appointment take? I don’t exactly know what it will be but I know I have to sigh the bottom of the funding letter when we’re there.

@HereToLearnAndShare no, I emailed the nurses and ask for an earlier drs appointment now that I am starting FET but they said no, and I said I wanted to discuss transferring 2, and he just sent over the dates and times for the consent appointment and scan appointment. We actually decided not to start yesterday and to wait until end of next month as we really just want to talk to the dr about what went wrong first in case there is something underlying I should be fixing before we go ahead with a transfer. That is sad as I don't want to wait but I want to give myself the best shot. Good luck today!

@thislittlebird yeah must be. So they had to freeze the 3 on day 1 as the embryologist said that is protocol when you are freezing less than 6. I haven't heard about it much so have been trying to research. I think this article I found about it has a good description of how day 1 freezing works and it doesn't sound like a great outcome so have to cross my fingers.
