Hi I am new here, first time posting. I have my first face to face appointment in 2 weeks and I was wondering what to expect. If my weigh is too high will I be refused the NHS funding? What other tests do they do? How do they do the smoking test? Thanks in advance for any insights.

@losinghope83 I didn't bother with NHS referrals. I knew my BMI was too high, I'm nearly 40 and the waiting lists were too long so I'm not really sure about any of that. Hopefully someone can advise.

Clinic have called and said bleeding is related to my E2 being low so while it's not great, it's related to the same issue and nothing to worry about. Some slight relief anyway.

@Kamiros Glad you heard back. Is the plan still for you to go in for another scan and bloods tomorrow?

@losinghope83 Sorry no experience with NHS as we have to pay privately first as a same sex couple before we are eligible for any NHS help

@2mumlife Yes back in tomorrow morning to see what's going on. Had more spotting during the night. If E2 is that low I'm really not hopeful that there's going to be anything to collect but you never know I suppose.

Hi @losinghope83. I believe if your BMI is above 35 then you won’t qualify for NHS treatment. I’m not sure if they’d do the interim tests while you lose weight or not. And they test smoking by making you blow into an indicator thing. Not sure how it works exactly but that’s what they do.

How have things been today @Kamiros? I’m sorry you’re going through that stress.

@florafoxtrot I'm ok. No more bleeding which is good. I do have some lower back pain but I get that with both ovulation and af so no idea what that is. Will be glad to find out more tomorrow. I'm also finishing up work tomorrow for 2 weeks so I'll have time to relax a bit either way.

@Kamiros Hope bleeding stays away now until your scan. I've got everything crossed for you tomorrow that there is a good outcome, and at the very least some answers for you

So, tmi but I've not pooped since EC . I'm normally very regular. I even had a caffeinated coffee (first in months!) as normally that would help move things along but nope. I'm not feeling particularly constipated yet. Any advice on getting things going again?

@2mumlife That's a good number fertilised, fingers crossed for a good update on day 5🤞not sure how it works with timescales as I've always had a fresh transfer, but hopefully you can go ahead next cycle.
I was also the same with constipation after EC and right through the couple of weeks I was using the cyclogest. I assumed it was the drugs. Try a bowl of weetabix if you have any 😆😆

@losinghope83 hello! The BMI criteria for NHS is 30. They do the smoking test by asking you to breathe into a wee machine that counts your levels.

@Kamiros hope you get good news and reassurance tomorrow and that the time off gives you some time to "relax" - if that's possible.

@2mumlife I've heard that before, to do with the sedative I think. I was going to suggest a caffeinated coffee but you've tried that. Prunes?! Sweetcorn?! All 3 then jumping up and down? you could try a gentle pregnancy safe laxative if things get too much x

@itsmschanandlerbong Thanks lovely. I'll get my day 3 update later today so keeping everything crossed they're developing well. @LouScot Things got moving this morning (I did have some sweetcorn last night funnily enough!). Phew!

@2mumlife Thanks, heading through now. I'm not feeling that hopeful if I'm honest but just be happy to know either way at this stage. Thinking of you too - hopefully a good update for you today.

So better news today than I thought. The 2 follicles on the right haven't really grown much but my left follicle has decide to wake up for the first time ever and develop another 3. Only 2 look like they might get big enough but still much better than I expected. I've been given extra drugs and have to go back in on Monday.

@Kamiros Thats fab news. Hope your estradiol levels come back a bit higher now too!

Still waiting on call from embryologist here. Getting nervous now as she said I'd get a call anytime after about 12noon so constantly waiting for phone call last 90mins!

@2mumlife The waiting is awful, you're just on edge for the phone all day. Hope they're not too long.

@Kamiros Accupuncture is a good plan, hope you feel nice and relaxed after.

I'm like a yoyo checking my phone every 5 minutes now as still haven't had call and going a bit mad

@2mumlife No wonder, I would be too. Can you call them if it's much longer?

They've said E2 came back in line with the scan so it's gone up a bit. So relieved.

@Kamiros That's great about E2 level!

Ended up calling clinic who said I was on list but admin couldn't tell me anything. Then missed call from.embryologist driving to get vaccine. Called them back 3 times and no one answered. Finally got through to admin who couldn't tell me anything of course. Then finally got call back from embryologist.

Luckily that was the most stressful part, as all the embryos are doing well. We have 4 x 8 cell embryos, 1 x 10 cell, and 1 that's a speedy little thing and in the word of the embryologist is "showing off" as it's already compacting

So, as always with the caution things can deteriorate, embryologist is very hopeful we'll have something to freeze

@Kamiros Haha yes love the little show off. It's really funny, last time we had a slow embryo they weren't sure had fertilised that I got to calling the "ugly duckling" (which made a 4AA in the end but sadly ended in chemical) and this time we have a show off.

@GemmTryTTC Not sure if you're testing today or tomorrow, but fingers crossed and good luck for a positive outcome

I tested yesterday, woke up my partner super early for it 😂 and it was a positive!!!! I ugly cried and made my partner cry too, but then we calmed down and had McDonald’s breakfast (healthy! 😂). Monday we go to the GCRM for bloods and we will take it from there, one day at a time. Anxiety is still with me but trying to manage it! Thanks for all the help guys, 😊 fingers crossed everything goes well now! Fingers crossed 🤞
