Congratulations @GemmTryTTC! That's wonderful news!

@itsmschanandlerbong

Welcome *@HJen22*! I think you can pay for those procedures privately but I'm not sure how much it would cost. A woman I used to work with paid for investigations privately so she was added to the waiting list quicker. At the moment, the waiting list in Glasgow is around 10 months from being added to beginning treatment, not sure about Aberdeen. There might be an Aberdeen specific Facebook group you could join and ask questions. I've found the Glasgow one very helpful.

@willithappen I have heard IVF pregnancies can be so anxiety filled. Hopefully as you approach the 12 week mark that begins to ease ❤️

Hello, I am just reading this thread now. Can I ask what the glasgow Facebook group is called that you mentioned? Thanks
2mumlife · 19/09/2021 08:05

@GemmTryTTC That's a fantastically promising sign! Fingers crossed beta comes back nice and high for you on Monday! Amazing you got a BFP first try!

GemmTryTTC · 19/09/2021 08:23

Thanks @Scirocco!!!
@2mumlife thanks a lot! We are in shock! Happy and to be honest full of anxiety! Every time I call my partners name she thinks there’s something wrong, it’s a shame! Hopefully we will calm down with the days going by.

Kamiros · 19/09/2021 08:32

A very quick update, all progressing well and we made it to 12 week scan with no drama.

Wishing everyone well on their journeys. Miracles do happen, we're so grateful for our only embryo. ❤😻💞

@2mumlife oooh, that's ace news. Imagine if you have several to freeze!!!

@GemmTryTTC congratulations too - did you manage to hold off testing until Friday?

@Kamiros great to hear the e2 has risen a bit on line with your scan.

GemmTryTTC · 19/09/2021 15:14

@LouScot we tested Saturday morning as my period was due then, we could not wait any longer! Tested again this morning just because 😂 but that’ll be it testing wise for me, at least for now. Thanks!

@2mumlife they called me mid morning if I remember correctly. Fingers crossed!!

Kamiros · 20/09/2021 11:39

Morning all. Sorry to ruin all the good news but we've been cancelled today 😭. The follicles on my left ovary have disappeared since Friday and the biggest one on the right is only 12. I bled all yesterday so not sure if I've ovulated it or if that's even possible. We're a bit down but ok.

LouScot · 20/09/2021 12:33

Ohhh F#£k @Kamiros, really sorry to hear that. Really rubbish xx

Kamiros · 20/09/2021 12:38

@LouScot Thanks. There's still one on the right but it's only 12mm. They offered to give me more meds to try and grow that one but I'm still bleeding on and off and I think its not worth it. We're off work this week and next so have decided to book to go away and just pretend to be normal for a bit.

florafoxtrot · 20/09/2021 13:11

I’m so sorry @Kamiros, that’s totally devastating. Glad you’ve made plans to go away though, I hope you can do a few nice things but know the sadness is always there. Please be kind to yourself ❤️

Wilsonicus · 20/09/2021 13:32

Hi everyone! Hope it's okay that I join in!

I've got my ovarian assessment at GCRM in Glasgow this week and I'm actively shitting myself. I don't even know why. I've had all these tests done on the NHS previously, but it feels different this time.

Has anyone had good experiences with this clinic and can put my mind at ease?

2mumlife · 20/09/2021 13:35

@Kamiros Sorry to hear your news. Totally understandable not to try more meds given everything you're experiencing this cycle. Going away sounds like a really nice idea, get some headspace and then sort out a review to understand whats happened and where to go next. You've really been through the wringer the last week.

@GemmTryTTC Still waiting for GCRM to call. I seem to spend most my life trying to get them to actually COMMUNICATE Angry

2mumlife · 20/09/2021 13:46

@Wilsonicus Sorry missed your message due to posting at same time! I've been with GCRM since January 2020. Nurses are lovely, but they've been taking on FAR too many patients and their communication has become poorer and poorer over time. You do need to be on top of things, and its like a second job pushing to get on the next list for a cycle, making sure they've ordered meds, and generally keeping on top of things - I've had an incident where they said we didn't have any more donor when we did (they 'lost' it somehow on their system) and where I was nearly issued a much lower dosage of stims than was agreed at consultation. I would say they offer less monitoring compared to other clinics as well. There are limited choices in Scotland though, and when they do actually eventually get back to you everyone is always very pleasant. You don't really get a named consultant - I've had consultants with 3 different consultants for different cycles, which can be frustrating as we've had consultants give differing information. I've found of all the consultants Marco has been particularly good at answering questions, and emphathetic. Even though I always request consultations to be with Marco though, you often find on the day your constultation is with someone else.
