IVF first timers - June 2021 Protocol

Hello 👋🏼!! About to embark on the absolutely terrifying process of IVF in June (once my next cycle finishes) and though it might be nice to get chatting to some people going through the same? Meds due tomorrow and bloods booked in for Saturday - Let me know if you are in the same boat would be great to get some support from some fellow infertility warriors ❤️x

Just had my day 3 call. All 6 are still present and correct - 3 are good quality and 3 average

@Luan82 thanks for the welcome! Reading all of your updates is getting me excited of what's to come! Finish norethisterone on the 18th, then have scan, period should start 22nd hopefully then start injecting 23rd if all goes well. I think at that time I will have loads of questions and need lots of reassurance! Xx

@busybee2102 great news and remember your average ones can become good by day 5 too. Our embryo is developing as it should and they said they would grade it as good 😍

Honestly you will be fine! I guess though there’s a fair bit of time on long protocol (I’m assuming you’re on long?) to think about things. I literally had a week and a bit from the phone call to say the clinic were ready for me to the injections. 😳 So it’s all been a bit of a whirlwind really. I’m not sure which is preferable. 🤔

@Ofpalestsilver Crikey that is a big day! I was thinking the same about DP not being there actually. I asked if he was bothered at all and he was like “Meh” 🤷‍♂️. 🙄 Men.
Hope both the transfer and the flight go well.

Welcome to the new additions.

We had the Day 5 call and we have 9 Frosties! 4 highest quality and 5 good quality Not sure when we will be going for transfer tbh. I wasn’t really with it when talking to the Dr after EC and the embryologist didn’t seem to know. So think I’ll have to make an appointment. I’m currently taking 2 Duphaston a day and think AF is about to show up.

@Tealismycolour WOW!!! That is amazing! I have never known so many to be frozen! You just be over the moon! We hopefully have ET tomorrow provided we don't hear from them before then 🤞🏾

Omg I’m so nervous. Waiting for my husband to finish work so we can head to the clinic for our transfer. I feel worse that before egg collection. On the bright side, no phone call from the clinic so that means we have something to transfer (I hate the ‘no news is good news’ type of waiting!).

I also have a tiny bladder and I’m already getting uncomfortable!!!!!!

I had a missed call from them about 45 mins ago, but I had my phone in my hand and it literally rang once...and they haven't left a message or rung back!!! So I'm hoping it was a mistake!! I have rung back and left a message...and they only really have half an hour to call with bad news. I'm on tenterhooks and a bit of panic is setting in 😬

The nurse just rang me back and said it wasn't them! Phew!!

Hi everyone. Back from transfer and full of KFC (apparently Maccy D’s fries are a traditional post-transfer treat but I prefer the colonel to the clown!)

How are you all doing?

Of the 6 that had fertilised and made it to day 3, all made it to day 5, with 4 as full expanded blastocysts! 2 of them had upgraded to ‘excellent’ (grade A), and 2 were still ‘average’ (grade C). The final two are iffy; one they don’t expect to go any further, and the final one they are going to call us tomorrow to see if it’s reached suitable quality / stage to freeze.

Long story short, we currently have one grade A on board, and three in the freezer

Transfer was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions about it. I got quite emotional seeing the ‘flash’ as it got popped in.

I’m extremely shocked and incredible grateful that we have (so far) been so lucky with the stats. I certainly wasn’t expecting to end up with three to freeze when they told me they collected 8 eggs.

@busybee2102 loll i am totally with you on the KFC. I am so pleased for you. I hope it works out for you. I am just about to start this journey in a couple of weeks. Do you have to have your morning and evening injections at the same time daily?

@PurpleUnicorn01 My clinic said approximately the same time but the only time I had to be strict was for the trigger. I was on buserelin in the mornings and just did it as soon as I got up, then for stims I was on Gonal F, and tried to keep it around 9:30.

I have a very good blast on board and two good ones for the freezer. They’re keeping an eye on a couple more tomorrow but say they can’t guarantee anything so we’ll see.

I was well up for Maccy Ds but my acupuncturist was all “No you have to have something nutritious”. My mushroom omelette wasn’t nearly as exciting as a KFC. 😂. Wish I hadn’t even asked now! ha.

@PurpleUnicorn01 Welcome aboard this crazy ride! Mine said to do them at the same time if poss but it doesn’t have to be religious.

We were lucky enough for our 1 embryo to make it to a decent expanded blastocyst and is now in me and we're hoping it wants to stay and grow in there 🤞🏾 cannot believe we are even at this stage! 😍 Care seem to grade them differently to what is the norm, they graded our 6, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 the best!

This 2 week wait is going to be hard!!

@Coops0406 am so happy for you! Still on my daily injections. It’s my day 5 today. Feeling bloated and quite constipated.
