IVF - egg collection June (starting down regulation in May)

Hi ladies, would be great to chat to anyone who is about to start down regulation, in prep for stims later in the month and egg collection early June.

I start Norethisterone tomorrow. Will be at UCLH/CRGH, first ever IVF. We have MFI.

Mostly terrified of the needles! I have this irrational fear that I could puncture an organ - someone tell me that's not possible?! lol

Sorry ladies! I've been a nervous wreck today so literally done every job I wanted done in the house over our time off today haha! Trying to keep my mind off tomorrow! Literally just sat down going to have a shower and take my 'chill' pill before bed!

@Ofpalestsilver thank you! I'm not going to just incase. Don't know why I ever wear it to hospital with them masks on. Maybe because hospital is like a day out at the minute haha! Bet ur so happy with them numbers! When do u hear about ur embryos next? Day 3? X

My egg collections all done! Sedation didn't work so felt every single thing. On the plus side was out after an hour. There was 14 follicles and they only got 7 eggs. Asked why that was and she said sometimes if the eggs aren't mature enough they get stuck in the follicle or something. Happy with 7 but scared of the drop off with icsi! There ringing in the morning I'm sooo nervous! X

We got 2 eggs from our 3-4 follicles. I know it's rubbish but from where we started we're just thankful that there was something. Didn't feel a thing and thought I was napping at home on the sofa! Due to only a couple of eggs, if we fertilise and get to day 5 we will be having a fresh transfer! OH did a great sample too so they aren't doing ICSI...I think info from preston up to Chester has somehow got misconstrued so they didn't get the right info from his most recent sample! So at the moment I'm just grateful for where we are and hoping we can get further 🤞🏾

@ivf2021 The sedation didn't work - wtaf? Oh poor you. Was it painful? Hope you're having a relaxing day today. With ICSI, the likelihood of it fertilising should be good. Fingers crossed for lots of fertilisation joys!

@Ofpalestsilver Thank you! Just want it to be 9am tomorrow now so they ring ha! Ano I couldn't believe it I was wide awake the whole time could feel every single thing. It killed the nurse and doctors were like I don't know how u have just lay through that with no gas and air! On the plus side tho because I didn't sleep or anything I literally sat up and we had tea & toast then got changed and went home xx

@ivf2021 so pleased that it was worth going under...the consultant was so lovely and said she was going in with a flush line as well to try and get what she could out.
I can't believe you went through it all without the sedation working! Did they say why?? You're an absolute warrior for doing that!!

@Coops0406 definitely he deserves that beer now after his super sample! Aww I'm so glad ur consultant was lovely and u managed to get ur 2! Best way try to relax and what will be will be tomorrow for us! We can't change anything now. They didn't know why! Think it's just my body! It's been so slow on all of the other drugs working too. Really hurt hopefully I don't ever have to do it again but if I do I'm asking for double dose haha! They said they would ring us between 9-10am but they all get so busy dont they! I'm pleased no more injections now! Got to start pessaries tonight tho do you? X

@ivf2021 I have to start them tomorrow night then twice a day after that. But I guess I only start of any of my eggs fertilise.
I can't believe that happened!! I hope it wasn't too traumatic! Yes defo if you have to go through it again get that dose doubled! 🤣 hopefully after your ordeal you never have to go through it again!

Hi all egg collection went well. Surprising 12 were collected, I was expecting 6 so very happy with the outcome. Im gussing the last upped dose push plus acupuncture helped. But it's all about quality now for all of us. So hoping and praying for all of us.

@ivf2021... omg you are a true warrior!!! That is shocking had to read what you wrote twice! So brave.
They put me in light sedation and gave me local anaesthetic as well so i was in a light sleep and was up and awake in 30 mins.

@Coops0406 like others said you only need one, so this might be your one. Its good your staying positive and relaxed, it will help your body for the fresh tranfer to come hopefully.

They don't think i will have over stimulation, but still doing FET as consultant want to stick to it, so does OH, so we sticking to that. Will find out before 5pm tomorrow how many fertilised.

@Luz192 how are yours doing, what days do you get updates?

@Luz192 luckily I had my favourite nurse and she kept me sane! Was offered gas & air but just wanted it over and done with! When's ur next update? Are they still doing a freeze all?

@Aim2912 wow 12 is amazing!!! Bet ur over the moon with that number! Definitely hopefully we all get the best news tomorrow 🙏🏻 what's the reasoning for freeze all? Bet after that successful retrieval u just want transfer day to come now.

@ivf2021 you declined gas and air too - you're a super trooper!!

We had the Day 5 call today - we've had 7 make it to blast stage and have been frozen :) They are watching a further 3 of them to see if they can make blast by tomorrow. I'm really relieved - it's a tough journey this whole thing.
