IVF - egg collection June (starting down regulation in May)

Luz192 · 07/05/2021 15:58

Hi ladies, would be great to chat to anyone who is about to start down regulation, in prep for stims later in the month and egg collection early June.

I start Norethisterone tomorrow. Will be at UCLH/CRGH, first ever IVF. We have MFI.

Mostly terrified of the needles! I have this irrational fear that I could puncture an organ - someone tell me that's not possible?! lol

@Aim2912 thank you! Over the moon and also not really believing it at the same time! I keep looking at the tests repeatedly through the day!

Luz192 · 12/10/2022 14:00

@Aim2912 how are you feeling? I hope you're in positive spirits and have had a chance to have a break from the stress of TTC.. as hard as that is! Are you still planning to do another transfer next month?
@Coops0406 How are things with you? Did you have your early scan - all good?

I surprisingly got my first ever BFP last week... just after coming back from holiday. My period was late by several days but I put it down to jet lag as that had been really severe both going and coming home and thought my cycle was just off. But eventually tested after 4 days of it being late and got 2 lines! Was in a bit of disbelief. Still processing it all actually but of course very pleased!

@Luz192 wow! That is amazing news! Isn't it funny what a break from all the fertility stuff can do! I wish you all the luck in the world with this pregnancy! Have you informed the GP yet?

We just had our 12 week nhs scan today, baby was moving around and could see little fingers. Was magical! The difference from 7 and a half weeks to 10 weeks to now (about 13 weeks) is unreal! We are now also actually due 2 days earlier than originally expected from the ivf too!

Luz192 · 12/10/2022 17:15

@Coops0406
that's so great to hear! Glad it's all going so well for you and you got to see little bubba today! What month is your due date?

Thank you for the well wishes. I've not contacted GP yet - will get around to it at some point. I'm so tired of all the appts with the IVF process that I'm quite enjoying not having to be in a clinic setting or scheduling appointments for some time!

@Luz192 wow that's amazing news! Congratulations! Very happy for you. Hope the next few weeks go smoothly for you.

@Coops0406 glad to hear all it well with you and the pregnancy is progressing nicely.

Love all all the good news! I have hope!

As for me I didnt end up getting much of a break I wanted. As after speaking to my consultant he wanted me to see a specialist, so I thought I'd do that in the mean time. The specialist then concluded the fluid was not harmful and was just my natural fluid, but I just seemed to have a lot of it.

My consultant then told me to try another cycle naturally before I take a break. Which I'm in the middle of now. As its all natural only started taking progestrone after ovulation. The fluid had all gone by the time I ovulated. Due to transfer on Tuesday. Hope I can join you both in the pregnancy journey! X

Coops0406 · 16/10/2022 17:14

@Aim2912 I hope all goes well with the transfer on Tuesday! So excited for you and will keep everything crossed!! 🤞🏾🥰

@Luz192 have you informed GP yet?

Luz192 · 16/10/2022 18:13

@Aim2912 that’s really positive that the fluid has gone! Really hoping this is the one - best of luck for Tuesday. Will you test early or try wait out the 2WW?

@Coops0406 not yet - I think I’d be 6wks tomorrow so have a bit of time still (as wouldn’t be doing an early scan or anything).
how are you feeling in general btw? Any sickness or anything?

OP posts:
Aim2912 · 17/10/2022 18:06

@Luz192 we are thinking of testing a little early, test day will be 31st of October but will probably test on Saturday 29th just incase it's bad news I'd rather be home and not have to go to work upset. 😖

Coops0406 · 17/10/2022 21:22

@Luz192 I had no sickness! It actually worried me. Every now and then felt slight hints of nausea but nothing major. Had the metallic taste in my mouth for quite a while, major tiredness and sore boobs (I put that down to the progesterone) But the tiredness seems to have shifted now so that's good. My belly has popped now too!

@Aim2912 sounds like a good plan to just have a couple of days for things to sink in without work! Really hoping for the best for you🤞🏾

Aim2912 · 23/10/2022 14:05

Hey @Luz192 @Coops0406 hope you both doing well.

@Luz192 are you having any symtoms yet?

I'm currently on 5 days post transfer, and have two on board. The transfer itself went smoothly I was told both embryos were top quality expanded blasts. My progesterone was abit low at 39 but then after upping the dose it shot up to 149 which I think is too high now.

I've had no symptoms at all, I was fine with that until today...now I'm kind of wondering/stressing why I'm not feeling anything. I've just had the random cramp maybe one or two but that's it. Nothing like AF is coming but also nothing like the pregancy I mc'd in the past.

So though I'd come here and see what you guys felt like early on.

All the best

Coops0406 · 23/10/2022 14:41

@Aim2912 great news about having 2 excellent ones on board! I had no symptoms apart from the sore boobs from progesterone...I think I felt one twinge 3 days after but tested the next days and it was negative. I did however get my faint positive 5dp5dt. Aside from that had no real symptoms apart from tiredness set in after a few weeks.
Really hope all goes well for you...when is test date? Fingers crossed for your little twinnies 🤞🏾

Luz192 · 23/10/2022 18:11

@Aim2912 yay!! Glad transfer went smoothly. Tbh until I was week 4, I had 0 symptoms so I don’t think it’s bad that you don’t have any symptoms at the moment. Hoping and praying for you.

Week 4/5, I started feeling really hungry & tired. I was happy eating quite a lot. Week 6 the nausea hit :( I’ve been super nauseous the past week. It’s really difficult - I’m not throwing up, but just constantly nauseous. I get motion sickness normally, so it’s like that feeling but alllll the time. And I’ve gone off most foods. really hoping this subsides because it’s hard to eat properly or do anything at the moment!

Aim2912 · 25/10/2022 19:07

@Luz192 thanks for the prayers!

Oh no sorry to hear about nausea, I really do hope it stops soon. Have you tried peppermint/sparemint tea, that helped a bit for a friend of mine.

@Coops0406 its was not having the sore boobs that made me worried. But I think it's too early for me as luz said. As yesterday I had some cramping and spotting and slight breast pain, I thought AF was definitely starting.

But today no spotting and mild cramps only. And very mild sore boobs only noticed as I'm paying close attention. I'm hoping yesterday was implantation spotting! Even though it was 6dpt. Here's to hoping. I'm straying postive. 🙂

Hope will be back here with an update in a few days. X

Coops0406 · 25/10/2022 19:33

@Luz192 hope the nausea subsides for you soon! I kept hoping for morning sickness just to have that symptom but just settled for the metallic taste and every now and then having a slight nauseous feeling for no reason! Kind of glad now though as it can be really bad so fingers crossed it calms down for you!

@Aim2912 the spotting and slight cramps could be a very good thing, like you say could be implantation. Also, you have 2 in there so one could have already implanted sooner without you feeling a thing! Like you say, stay positive, keep the faith! I'm keeping absolutely everything crossed for you 🤞🏾

We just got back from a little sunny "babymoon". Has been amazing...I definitely popped out quite a bit, I think maybe a lot of food, bloating and fluid retention added to it! And had to do an injection on the plane! That was an experience!

Aim2912 · 27/10/2022 11:36

@Coops0406 oh great to have got away! A well deserved break with the fertility stress.

So I cracked and tested early this morning, it came up as a stronge positive with in seconds. However this was a clear blue 6 days early test. I'm going to re test on a cheap one to see what that says on Saturday. We are defo pleased but not getting too excited as I've had mild pink spotting for the past 3/4 days which it worrying me, given my history of MC. So I'm going to get my progesterone tested at the clinic on Saturday. The stress is never ending!

My clinic doesn't accept early test as well. 😖

Coops0406 · 27/10/2022 12:36

@Aim2912 that's great news! And likely so strong as 2 in there which is even better!!! I was using the FRER ones for mine and I don't think I got it strong until maybe 8 or 9 days past transfer! And then it started overtaking the control line. I'm so pleased for you and really hoping for the best 🥰 when is OTD? How many days past transfer are you now?

Aim2912 · 27/10/2022 15:27

@Coops0406 I'm 9dpt today. OTD is on monday. Hopefully this spotting stops soon!

Luz192 · 27/10/2022 17:02

@Aim2912 that’s such good news!!! Cautiously very optimistic for you. That’s good re: progesterone check too, to just make sure that’s in order. Keep us updated on how things go the next few days!

Coops0406 · 28/10/2022 07:46

@Luz192 how are you feeling? Have you been to GP yet? Hope the nausea isn't too bad for you!

Luz192 · 28/10/2022 09:28

@Coops0406 yes, I have a midwife appt in 2.5 wks. The nausea and food aversions are still killing me tbh! Really hoping it improves after first trimester. Just feel a bit meh all the time! How are you doing?

OP posts:
Coops0406 · 29/10/2022 13:08

@Luz192 that great news, and quite early so that's good! I think we only got seen with a lot of pushing just after 12 weeks!
Oh no! Hope the nausea stops. I can't really say I had any of it but from what I've heard it can be horrible so thinking of you and really hoping it calms down. Although I always wanted some so I had a symptom of pregnancy!

@Aim2912 have you been testing since or just waiting until Monday? How are you feeling?

Aim2912 · 29/10/2022 14:12

@Coops0406 I tested again this morning, with 2 different tests, one that tells you how many weeks you are as I wanted to ensure my hcg was over 150 and that came up as expected, saying 2 to 3 weeks post ovulation.

Then I did the cheap one and that was positive aswell so all looks ok so far. The spotting stopped today, I went to the clinic to have my progestrone tested and they said they will do the hcg too! Waiting on results later this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

I'm feeling ok symtoms wise, just a bag of nerves tbh so went to some accupunture today.

Did you continue with the probiotics after testing positive?

@Luz192 wow not long then how exciting! Both of yours and coops progress is keeping me positive!

my acupuncturist told me to try the wild nutrition pregnancy supplement if I'm feeling sick, she said it either works amazing or not at all. But they have good quality ingredients. Have a look at the reviews to see if its worth it as they are on the pricey side. Hope the sickness eases.

Take care guys.x

Aim2912 · 30/10/2022 12:40

Just an update had my beta early as mentioned above. Is was 800, but as expected my progestrone was low at 56nmol which makes me at risk of MC. I have a repeat test on tuesday. I'm just glad I insisted in the progestrone blood test early. But just quite deflated at the moment.

Luz192 · 30/10/2022 15:47

@Aim2912 don’t stress about that - I’m in a CRGH group on Fb (You should join!) and so many people have posted that their progesterone was ‘low’ - but CRGH want it to be >100 which is actually very high. So your number isn’t actually even low by other clinic standards. Plus, everyone who posts just takes extra progesterone and in a few days it jumps up - I wouldn’t worry about that being a risk factor at all!

Aim2912 · 30/10/2022 22:35

@Luz192 thanks for the reassurance! Joined the group and it made me feel abit better reading how some clinic target is 50 and above. I needed that, so did DH, as he was more worried then I was. X
