IVF - egg collection June (starting down regulation in May)

Hi ladies, would be great to chat to anyone who is about to start down regulation, in prep for stims later in the month and egg collection early June.

I start Norethisterone tomorrow. Will be at UCLH/CRGH, first ever IVF. We have MFI.

Mostly terrified of the needles! I have this irrational fear that I could puncture an organ - someone tell me that's not possible?! lol

@Aim2912 thank you so much! This time round my lining is thick enough but not as thick as last time, it was 12mm last time but it's about 8.5mm. And my progesterone level last time was super low and then shot up ridiculously high but this time it's high enough without being stupid! Strange as I have been on the same meds so wondering if my body has got used to them or a bit more resistant to them! But I feel better this time round...just hope the blast defrosts nicely tomorrow morning 🤞🏾

That will be nice to have a couple of weeks off. We're in london for a few nights then the week after going to York, Harrogate and Whitby with the dog! Can't wait!

Thank you so much! Keep in touch, I'll let you know how we get on and you do too! Xx

@Coops0406 @Aim2912 Sorry for being AWOL on here. I just haven't been in TTC or IVF mode lately - had a lot of personal things going on. I do have a follow-up appt scheduled for September, which would mean I transfer around October, but I just don't know if I'm ready at this very moment and not sure whether to push it back another couple of months. And also really wanted to go on a well-overdue holiday in September. I will see how things go in the next few weeks.

But great to hear from you both. I hope Coops your transfer tomorrow goes well - really praying for you! And I hope you have a great 40th birthday and travels.
Aims, really positive to see that your microbiome has become more balanced now and you have the go ahead for a transfer in a couple of weeks. Hoping this is the one for you. Positive vibes for you both and I hope to be able to join you soon on the journey!

@Luz192 lovely to hear from you! Thank you!
It's so hard and if you've missed out on holidays and have the opportunity it may be better to enjoy that first before getting stuck into the stress of ivf. You can still have your appointment in September without having to go ahead in October can't you? I suppose if that's the case then just think about it nearer the time. Have you got any nice plans this month?
If this transfer doesn't work for us we'll be going back into egg collection, probably October time I think so will have to use September to get well on track with the diet and exercise!

Aim2912 · 04/08/2022 11:18

@Luz192 good to hear from you! Thank you.

If you don't feel ready, then I would wait till you are. As it takes alot out of you. Putting life on pause and living from one appointment to another has made planning nice things very last minute. So do what you need to then start with a fresh mind. You have age on you side, so I would worry to much of a couple of months delay.

If this one doesn't work for us, we are planning to stop for a while. As OH is really struggling with all the disappointment.

@Coops0406 good luck for today again...my thoughts and prays are with you. X

Coops0406 · 04/08/2022 15:15

Embaby on board 🥰 our blast defrosted nicely and bounced back to an expanded blast...was just starting to hatch. It was the clearest picture on screen we've seen with our embryos! And our nurses are just amazing, you can just tell that they are wanting it for us too. So now it's 11 days of resting until OTD! Keep us in your thoughts ❤️

@Luz192 *wouldn't worry is what I meant :s

Aim2912 · 04/08/2022 16:49

@Coops0406 amazing!!!! Glad it all went well. Congrats in being PUPO. Wishing you a very blissful and postive 2ww. Rexal...keep cosy and nested. Dont forget to keep your feet warm. X

Will be in touch once I get there too. 🙂

Coops0406 · 04/08/2022 16:51

@Aim2912 thanks so much! Yes please! Keep me posted 🥰 xx

Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 11:34

@Aim2912 how is it going? Are you closer to transfer? I'm 4do5dt and stupidly tested this morning...BFN! Not sure why I thought it was a good idea to test but I felt a few pains yesterday on my right so woke up this morning and decided to pee on a stick!

Luz192 · 08/08/2022 11:50

@Coops0406 Still so early, so don't stress yourself unnecessarily Even if the pains were implantation, it wouldn't show for maybe another day or two. Fingers crossed for positive news!

Thank you both for the well wishes too!

OP posts:
Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 11:55

@Luz192 thank you! I think I'd been dreaming about testing so it was a really quick decision as I was also desperate for a pee this morning! I know it's so early but you do hear of people getting the faintest line quite early!
How are you doing? Have you sorted your holiday for September?

Aim2912 · 08/08/2022 15:22

@Coops0406 4 days is too early for sure! So I would completely ignore that result. It takes at least 48hours after implantation for there to be detectable hcg levels on a home test.

It's hard holding out to test day...so try hide those sticks somewhere hard to get too.

I havent ovulated yet. I so wish I hadn't taken any stimulation as it hasn't improved my timings much and they saw fluid today in the cavity again. I'm sure it's the medication, as the only time I've had no fluid is the cycle I took no medication. Not sure whats going to happen now. They have asked me to come back tomorrow as the doctor wants to see the live scans.

Wanted to cry but had to keep it all in, as I had to go into my work office straight after. 😞

Hope your trying to relax a bit.

Coops0406 · 08/08/2022 15:53

@Aim2912 haha! I should hide them! But realistically I know I'm going to test everyday now! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Oh no! I remember that's what happened last time! How come you went for stimulated this time round? I hope they can sort this out. Must have been awful going back to work! Will you take tomorrow off? Hope it goes okay tomorrow!

Currently curled up on the sofa, had a little snooze! 🥰

Aim2912 · 08/08/2022 17:06

@Coops0406 the scan tomorrow is later in the afternoon so hoping to go home straight after.

The last cycle I transfered I didnt take anything and I ovulated on day 24, the consultant thought it would be better to bring that time line forward so that the linings is not 24 days old, we didnt think mild stimulation would cause the fluid. Just hoping it some how goes by tomorrow!

Coops0406 · 09/08/2022 07:23

@Aim2912 I hope the scan goes well this afternoon. Keeping everything crossed that this fluid has gone or at least reduced! 🤞🏾

I tested again this morning...it was negative. Then when I went to take a photo to log on an app I noticed the faintest of lines on both the tests! So, I think at 5dp5dt and nearly 40 years old, I can say it's the first positive I have ever seen! I can't actually believe it, I keep going to check and re-looking at the photos!

Aim2912 · 09/08/2022 18:52

@Coops0406 oh wow....that's sounds promising! I am truly excited for you! I think in the next few days you will know for sure as that line gets stronger! I want to say the big c word but Il wait till you know for sure. hopefully two/ three sleeps away from your BFP😊

Unfortunately my cycles been cancelled. Consultant wasn't happy to proceed as the fluid increased today. Think il take a break and try in November again. Just need to get back to the right frame of mind to go at it again.

Coops0406 · 09/08/2022 19:28

@Aim2912 thanks so much. Such early days and I still don't quite believe it but really hoping for it to get stronger and stronger 🤞🏾

Oh no! Absolutely gutted for you! Hopefully you can have a break and get into a good headspace and they can also try and come up with a better plan for you! Sending you big hugs 🥰

Luz192 · 10/08/2022 21:44

@Coops0406 oh... cautious congrats..! Don't want to get too excited until you have some assurance, but thoughts are with you!
@Aim2912 oh so sorry to hear this - I can only imagine the frustration. Do they not have any idea what's causing the fluid, as in why the meds are doing that? Will you try totally natural again next time around? It's a lot of stress I know...

Coops0406 · 10/08/2022 22:07

@Luz192 thank you. The line got darker today so that was reassuring. Our closest family know too now as they've been on this rollercoaster of a journey with us for the last 3 years too! So many tears today! We're all just hoping he/she is here to stay! 🤞🏾🥰

Aim2912 · 11/08/2022 23:30

@Coops0406 omg that's amazing, big congratulations to you and your family. So so happy for you!
I wish you the very best for this pregancy hope the next few weeks and months go smooth sailing for you. Exciting times ahead. X

Thanks for your message too

Aim2912 · 11/08/2022 23:35

@Luz192 thanks for you message, yes I will go back to a full natural cycle I did that last time we transfered but it did stick so though we'd try it help my hormones this time. But will stick to natural for the next time.

It's a bit of a to catch 22 situation as my pcos causes hormonal imbalances, the drugs to fix it dont agree with my body! I'm trying natural thing to support my body in the mean time.

Hope your keeping well.

Luz192 · 12/08/2022 11:57

@Coops0406 Congratulations!!! So pleased for you - I hope this is your time and that everything works out positively for you and your family! Lovely news, that gives us all hope :)

@Aim2912 Possibly something to look into - keto? I don't think any drastic diet is ideal long-term, but I think the root cause of PCOS is related to insulin resistance/blood sugar management, so keto temporarily can help reverse. Might be worth seeing a functional medicine doctor who focuses on fertility/PCOS (functional doctors try focus on addressing the root cause, rather than just medicating to resolve an issue). I think insulin management is then closely linked with the adrenals, so even little things like getting some sunlight as soon as you wake up can help, turning off lights by 10pm etc can help to better regulate. Definitely think it can be resolved naturally but needs some digging :)

@Luz192 @Aim2912 BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! 😍 OTD and we still have 2 lines. Scan booked for 7th September which seems a long way off!

Aim2912 · 15/08/2022 17:55

@Coops0406 happy birthday!!! You must be feeling on top of the world!

That's amazing! Hope the next 3 weeks go quickly for you and the scan goes well!

Aim2912 · 15/08/2022 18:05

@Luz192 thanks for your tips, yes I've been on a low GI and GL diet for most part of this year. Which has helped along with gluten free.

Will try keto again....last time I tried it I only lasted 4 weeks. But might give it a go again.
