IVF - egg collection June (starting down regulation in May)

Hi ladies, would be great to chat to anyone who is about to start down regulation, in prep for stims later in the month and egg collection early June.

I start Norethisterone tomorrow. Will be at UCLH/CRGH, first ever IVF. We have MFI.

Mostly terrified of the needles! I have this irrational fear that I could puncture an organ - someone tell me that's not possible?! lol

I just started my IVF cycle at Guys last week (07/06/21). I was told I have pcos.
They put me on gonal f dose for 150 and on day 9 they only found 2 follicles out of 17 which were 16mm, rest were all small, the nurse said I should wait for my trigger so they can grow well, but got a call this evening that I should stop all medication and take my trigger tomorrow bec I might get OHSS.

Has anyone with pcos done IVF in guys? Would be keen to know what was the outcome

@Coops0406 awww I'm over the moon for u and ur little embryo ❤️ it's so true it only takes one! We both ended with one so let's hope they both stick 🥰 is ur beta blood test 12 days after too? Feels like it's going to be a loooong 12 days! How u feeling? Im exhausted today 😴 think it's just all of the stress leading up to yesterday!

@Luan82 thank you ❤️ good luck with EC! U will probably see by my posts in here the sedation didn't work for me and I felt everything. However from what the doctor said that is extremely rare so don't worry! Everything I've heard and read is that u just have a short sleep and don't feel anything. Next thing u know ur awake in recovery.

@Rj1988 welcome 👋🏻 I did stims for 13 days because my body was really slow during the whole process! But everyone is completely different. Ur doctors are the experts so trust them. They thought I had 14 decent sized follicles but at EC only ended up with 7 eggs. Whereas many people have less decent size follicles and end up with lots more eggs! Good luck for EC!

@ivf2021 - there's always one !! 😂😂😂 might ask them to pop a bit more sedation in me just to be sure I pass out !! 🤣 I'm on day 13 (!!!) of stims now so I feel like a pro !! I had a good scan today she said one follicle has appeared on my right ovary it's measuring 11 and there are five on my left so another scan 07:30 am tomorrow and fingers crossed we are stil on for EC Friday / sat - 6 follicles is ok with me!🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 xxx

Hello ladies has anyone with Diminished ovarian reserve(DOR) had a successful either IUI or IVF please as we are planning to go on the journey next month.....been trying for a year now and am 37years

@Luan82 🤣🤣🤣 Ano! I said to the nurse 🤞🏻 I never have to do it again but if I do I definitely want a double dose haha! 6 is amazing 😍 bet u just can't wait to get to EC after a long stims! I was dying to just get them out by that point haha! Let us know how tomorrow goes 🙏🏻

@Rj1988 hi! I was told I had polycycstic ovaries and was expected to have loads of follicles and probably OHSS, then at my scans only had 4 follicles with maybe a few tiny ones...they also did the scan and said they didn't look polycycstic so that was a bit of a surprise! Managed to get 2 eggs, one fertilised properly (the other abnormally) and made it to a blastocyst and is currently trying to make a home in me 🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾so I suppose the key thing I'm saying is that a couple of good sized follicles can still do well. I hope EC goes well for you and always remember quality over quantity 😍

@ivf2021 can you believe it! 🥰 We both have one in there...just have to try and stay positive and not think about it too much. I think being exhausted is perfectly normal for all the emotional ups and downs this journey has!
So we just have to do a pregnancy test on 25th June, which is 11 days after ET, then let them know...if positive they'll arrange a scan in the next couple of weeks 🤷🏾‍♀️ What day is your blood test? What did they say happens after that?

@Coops0406 Ano 🥰 I honestly can't believe it! I keep rubbing my tummy saying come on please implant haha! Awwww I hope they both do for us 🙏🏻🤞🏻❤️ We go in early morning on the 26th for bloods and get a phonecall with them results on the afternoon. Then on my planner if positive it shows a scan on 09/07 then another on 21/07. I don't know whether I'll be able to resist doing an at home test first tho! X

@ivf2021 🤣😍 I actually think I may be able to forget and need to be reminded to test...but I know I won't want to do it in case my bubble bursts! I love that they put those in your planner, I think it sends really positive vibes 😊 They told us not to test earlier than the 25th as you can get a false positive...the trigger has HCG in it and may still be present apparently. Are you working for the next week and a half? (It sounds better than 2 weeks!) 🤣

@Believe202 - me!! 🙋🏻‍♀️ 38- low amh 4.6 and low afc 7 which suggests DOR , I'm currently mid process and I have had one pregnancy (ectopic) so it can happen !! Xx

@Luan82 thanks for your reply did U go IVF or IUI?? U had a natural cycle or stimulate? Sorry to ask all these

@Coops0406 we are the complete opposite 🤣 I'll be itching to test in a few days haha! But seen that too that the trigger can just false positive for a week or so! It's lovely they put them in isn't it! ❤️ they literally put it all in from first day of DR then if dates change they print u a new one! I took a career break with it being my first one until after test. As wanted to just take the time off to reduce stress but now I'm wishing I went back cause now OH is back at work I'm going crazy and it's only been a day 🤣 are u back at work? X

@Believe202 not at all! I had the same questions when I started the process as I didn't know much about DOR, I'm in a group with other ladies with low amh and a lot of them are pregnant after their IVF which is encouraging!! It really is all about egg quality - I'm on the short antagonist protocol- currently day 13 of stims and I've got one none responsive ovary it's got one follicle but the other ovary has responded well at five follicles x

@Coops0406 wish I knew !! 😂 another scan at half seven tomorrow and hopefully should book EC in then they keep telling me we will have the covid swab and that's done on the last scan before EC so it's exciting !! They have suggested Friday or Saturday.... x

@ivf2021 that's so good...nice to have a timeline to work towards. I only had the timeline up to ET but would be nice to know what the provisional timelines are from now.
Yes, went back today...I was so up and down over the last few weeks that I couldn't have worked...but now there's no news and nothing can be done until next week so can just concentrate on work and hope that time flies! 😍 what have you been doing to keep busy?

We got our video of the embryo developing over the last 5 days...it is amazing to see!! We put it on the TV and watched it over and over!!!

@Rj1988 I have been told I have pco, I think they have started you on low stims, as people with pco tend to get OHSS. They may have not upped your dose as you have two leading follicles, in case they get too big, or incase you ovulate your self. It also depends on your LH levels. I guess they should have upped it to begin with but with these things know one knows for sure how different bodies react. Other might catch up. There are others here that have fewer good quality ones so its not always about the numbers. So don't stress too much. All the best. X

@Coops0406 No i havent booked my follow up consultation yet so not 100% sure when. Also need to sort out dates work wise, depending on when AF arrives this cycle as after EC is can change from the norm.

I’m slowly enduring my 2ww, expecting negative news but really hoping for a positive. I don’t want to go through this again. It’s why I felt so deflated on transfer day, only 2 eggs and low quality, surely that means more EC and I just don’t want it! We managed to get another Frostie though which is something, slightly better quality.

@Ofpalestsilver so sorry your feeling like this. I know it is not easy, but right now it really important to stay positive. All of this has such a toll on us. If this doesnt work out for you have to more froties to try...before even thinking about doing this again. Yes its not fair, and i get were you coming from....please dont loose hope just yet. What ever the outcome of this round, natural conception can never be ruled out, even if it small chances. X

@Coops0406 definitely get stuck in a keep urself busy! To keep busy ive just done every single job I can in house and garden haha! My OH is a joiner so when he had to self isolate with me we changes rooms around put all new doors on throughout the house. So we were busy busy! Now he's back at work and no jobs left to do I haven't got a clue how I'm going to fill my time 🤣 OMG that sounds amazing!! Bet it was lovely to see and just think when ur child is old enough to understand what a lovely thing to show them.

@Ofpalestsilver hope ur ok ❤️ try to stay positive! I'm only on day 2 after transfer and already stressing if it's going to stick. Im the same as u and already thinking I really don't want to go through everything again but I know I will if needed. It's amazing u have some Frosties too ❤️

I’ve been following the group.

We had egg collection yesterday they collected 12 eggs and they called and said only 1 has fertilised and there are a few others who have no nuclei?! At this time

I know 1 is all we need but I’m feeling extremely low about it and couldn’t stop crying

@Finnytea aww I hope ur doing ok ❤️ It's awful when u don't get the numbers u want! I had 7 eggs, 6 mature, 3 fertilised & 1 blastocyst which has been transferred. A lovely lady on here @Coops0406 had 2 eggs, 1 fertilised & 1 blastocyst transferred ❤️ so don't loose hope! It really does only take one! Did u discuss whether ur getting a day 3 or 5 transfer. I know my clinic automatically done day 3 transfer if 1 embryo x

So not great news following my scan. Right ovary hasn't produced anything and my left has 2, with 1 smaller coming up behind. Clinic are currently discussing options and are phoning me tonight.. They will either cancel and we will look to do again using different medication. Or go ahead with trigger tonight and egg collection on Friday.

I had a big big cry and a nap .
I’m trying to be super positive and say we only need 1 gooden. The embryologist said she will call me Friday as there were 5 that hadn’t developed yet so there is HOPE that one of those is a late bloomer but I don’t know xxx

She didn’t say anything about day 3 just a day 5

We are due to have ET on Sunday so fingers crossed xxxxxxxxxxxx
