Hi ☺️
Just starting up a little thread if anyone wants to join me on their FET journey for May/June. I've never had a FET cycle before and wondered if anyone was or is on their way with this journey to offer support and guidance x

@2mumlife yeah, it's so weird to think something so easy to fix could cause such a big issue. I hope this is my only issue and now I've found it things might work, but I just don't know, either way it wouldn't have helped, so it's good that I've got it fixed.

Hi @Tarsette :) I am sending thick lining vibes your way. This is going to me a nervous cycle for me with my lining, it always looked ok until when the progesterone starts, then it looked thin and patchy and in my recent era it wasn't actually there. I'm hoping now I've has a microflora issue diagnosed and treated it will look normal 🤞

Hello to new folk! Lots of luck to all.

Having a bit of a wobble over it all today - despite being the same clinic my protocol looks different to last time and it’s worrying me, especially that I’ll be on buserelin from day 21 but that I’m then to start estrogen on day 1 of the next bleed, without a scan to check downreg has worked. Does that seem ok? It’s the same clinic as before so I think I just need to try and trust they know their stuff and relax into it, but I think my brain is determined to panic.

starkid · 17/05/2021 22:33

@Verbena87 I would definitely question that; this round I had to double my buserelin dose for a week as my follicles were still showing as stimulated at my scan before starting estrogen, despite having my period, so everything was delayed by a week.

Verbena87 · 17/05/2021 22:36

Yes, I keep worrying about that. What’ll happen if my ovaries are still looking awake?

hopefulhel · 17/05/2021 22:46

How is everyone doing tonight. I'm 3dp5dt and trying to stay sane. Am still taking 8mg of estrofem and Crinone (am & pm). Breasts are a bit tender today but think that's the progesterone

Verbena87 · 17/05/2021 22:58

Ah hang in there @hopefulhel - the wait is awful!

I’m edgy as an edgy thing this evening and haven’t even got started yet.

2mumlife · 18/05/2021 07:32

@Verbena87 I never had a downreg scan on my fresh IVF cycle, my first scan was at CD8 after I'd already started stims, and I'm not due to have any scans before I start meds for FET either (first scan I think is something like CD8-10 to check lining) but I'm on a shorter protocol for FET.

Verbena87 · 18/05/2021 07:38

Thanks @2mumlife - it’s really helped to know it isn’t unheard of. I also had a calmer check through my notes for last time and saw that there were no problems/delays with downreg, so that’s made me feel more confident as well.

Going to really try and just accept I can’t control/know everything and just trust the process/my body/the nurses (who after all have done this thousands of times to my once!). Anyone else find the head game the hardest bit?!

hopefulhel · 18/05/2021 08:16

I shouldn't really complain I was only due to have FET today at 1 but my lining was thick enough at my first scan so they pencilled me in for four days earlier.

WNorwoodJess · 18/05/2021 08:37

Hello everyone. New to the forum. I’m doing a natural FET next month for baby #2. I have a daughter born via ivf (1st round, got lucky) who is 18 months now. We froze 3 embryos from that first cycle. I’m terrified though even though I know what to expect. I’m at Guys who have been rubbish over contacting me but the nurses are fab. I wish everyone luck too. We deserve some after covid.

Verbena87 · 18/05/2021 10:32

Ah @WNorwoodJess I’m with Guys too, we did PGD with them as my husband has lynch syndrome. Also super lucky to get our son from our first transfer and have 3 embryos in the freezer.

WNorwoodJess · 18/05/2021 10:35

@Verbena87 oh that’s good news. Did you rate Guys?

Pingupp · 18/05/2021 11:15

@Verbena87 thanks for the Brew Dog tip :-) I shall get some to try on next shop.

Verbena87 · 18/05/2021 14:18

@WNorwoodJess same as you really: shockingly shit communication but the nurses are fab. Last time we went through the satellite clinic in Sheffield (amazing in every way), but that’s not an option this time as we’re self-funded (NHS PGD funding is up to 3 cycles or one live birth, whichever comes first. Feel so lucky to have embryos from that first cycle.)

starkid · 18/05/2021 16:02

Embryo transfer was really quick and easy this time, in and out the clinic in half an hour, but my god that speculum BURNED going in this time, my eyes watered!

Tarsette · 18/05/2021 16:45

@Gardenlady543 thanks for your wishes! I am really nervous my lining won’t cooperate and I won’t be able to transfer. Every cycle is so different, sometimes it reacts really well to Gonal F and grows to 8mm in less than 10 days and other cycles I can’t get it to budge past 6mm...Hoping you won’t have to deal with lining issues this time round. It will be really interesting to see if the changes you’ve made have an impact on the lining! When are you due to start?

Gardenlady543 · 18/05/2021 17:00

@Tarsette I'm due to start with my period which I'm expecting on Saturday. I was hoping I might have got pregnant naturally in this cycle, as the ERA would have been like a scratch and we DTD after a HSG which was peak fertility. We only did it the one time though as I then got the biopsy results the next day. I'm going to be nervous to see what will happen with the lining this cycle. If it's still strange, I don't know what the next step will be.

Verbena87 · 18/05/2021 19:40

Oooh @starkid do you have an embryo on board? Feel like I miss things with all the posts. Sending all the luck your way.

starkid · 18/05/2021 19:44

@Verbena87 - Yep! A day 7 frozen one, my only frozen one actually :)
The consultant said it was a good quality one and showed on the screen all the positives to it, so I'm feeling a little more confident than I did with the 2 day 3 embryos I had put in my fresh cycle.

2mumlife · 18/05/2021 20:43

@starkid Wow you had an interesting batch of day length embryos - never heard anyone having 1 cultivated to day 7, only day 6. Glad to hear it's a good'un! Fingers crossed!

starkid · 18/05/2021 20:47

@2mumlife - yes the embryologist said there weren't any ready at day 5 or 6, but saw one almost ready on day 6 so decided to wait just in case, as otherwise I would have had none to freeze, and it ended up getting to where it needed to be and being good quality, just rather slow about it! It's not a common practice to wait that long before deciding to freeze one though, no...

Verbena87 · 19/05/2021 07:08

Everything crossed for you @starkid

2mumlife · 19/05/2021 09:15

@starkid Slow and steady wins the race though sometimes! Hopefully this one does the trick for you :)

coffeewithmilk · 19/05/2021 17:13

Sorry I've kind of fallen off the thread since I first replied! Have been trying to keep myself occupied and not think too much about it all.
Had my transfer today, a 4AA so hoping that it's successful because it's a high grade, but I'll take it as it comes.
Now comes the dreaded 2 week wait 😞
X
