Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@ivf2021 hi and welcome
No personal experience of this but I hope you get some good news soon
This thread is lovely and has kept me sane ! X

strawberrysummer19 · 19/05/2021 09:12

@notyetamumbuttrying oh really? The only one I had a problem with ( and I'm day 7 stims today is the one I had to do as partner away and he usually does them as I find it easier ) but turned out I was putting it in far too slow, so now I'm a bit quicker i hardly feel it. What I do feel is a sting when it's going
X

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/05/2021 09:15

@strawberrysummer19 I've been doing the wrong angle 😂 so will actually do 90 degrees tonight and see if it makes the difference. Yeah I feel the sting as it goes in as well!

strawberrysummer19 · 19/05/2021 09:17

@notyetamumbuttrying oh I see ! It's trial and error isn't it ! X

ivf2021 · 19/05/2021 09:18

Thanks for replying ladies it means a lot :) @notyetamumbuttrying That's amazing that you have got started on stims gives me hope! They didn't seem to concerned about the cysts so hopefully I have a bleed before scan next week and they go with the bleed 🤞🏻 Just gutting after injecting for 3 weeks for what feels like nothing. @strawberrysummer19 thank you! I've been watching this thread but was nervous to post but everyone seems so lovely! X

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/05/2021 09:24

@strawberrysummer19 Yeah it really is!
@ivf2021 no worries 😉 yeah I can appreciate that. I only did 12 days of it and was getting fed up so can totally understand your frustration! X

2mumlife · 19/05/2021 09:24

@notyetamumbuttrying We had a rainbow by the house last night too, but nothing nearly as impressive as your one! No sign of AF for me today. I reckon I'll be waiting a little while yet tbh. Not feeling too impatient about it yet, but I probably will be by the weekend! Oh well, I'd prefer a March baby to a Feb baby anyway Fx Grin

Really interesting hearing about everyiones down reg stories - my clinic uses Prostap, so its a single injection given by the nurse in your butt on CD21 and thats it, just wait for a bleed. My clinic don't even give you a down reg scan, once your bleed comes just off you go with stims.

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/05/2021 10:34

@2mumlife argh that's annoying but glad it's not winding you up too much yet! Ha, I'll get a feb baby all being well! It'll be due around Dh bday so I've already calculated the dates 🤪
Oh how interesting with your clinic, that sounds far more effective then jabbing yourself everyday!!

Georgie87B · 19/05/2021 10:57

Hi @ivf2021 just wanted to say hi, I'm afraid I haven't had a similar experience to you but I really hope you are able to get the cysts sorted and resume your IVF journey ASAP! Especially after waiting for so long!

@strawberrysummer19 I'm glad your injection wasn't as bad as you thought it was I know the needles which arent in pen form can be a bit daunting. I wasn't on these meds I was on gonal-f and then Cetrotide. But you have got this!! 💪🎉

Bells3032 · 19/05/2021 12:29

So it seemed like AF had finally arrived this morning...but she's disappeared again! booked an appointment for tomorrow just in case. fingers crossed

2mumlife · 19/05/2021 15:03

@Bells3032 I normally have a really sluggish day 1 flow before a heavier day 2. Here's hoping she gets going in earnest for you soon!

@notyetamumbuttrying Don't get me wrong, I'd take any baby at this point! I've been looking at the NHS due date calculator too and I'm not even pregnant!

Eeek so surprise call from GP offering me the vaccine next Wednesday. The decision to vaccinate or not just got real! I've said I don't know because of starting IVF cycle and will call them back to confirm if I want to take the appointment next week or not, and I've fired a message off to the clinic to see what they say. I just don't think I'm comfortable doing anything that might f'up this cycle, and I'm so low risk (I've worked entirely from home since last March and have no health issues) that I really don't think its worth taking it just now.

Haha i thought i was the only one that looked up due dates of babies i am not pregnant with yet!

I honestly don't care what month i had a baby. i did want to avoid Jan next year just in case Covid takes off again and we have another surge but that ship has sailed anyway.

As for the vaccine i had mine (actually volunteered at a vaccine centre to get it early) felt i was safer taking it pre pregnancy than during pregnancy and felt safer being pregnant having had it. but it's a really personal choice and i don't think anyone would blame you for either choice.

Still no bleeding bar the bit first thing this morning. this is frustrating. Now i am anxious something is wrong with my lining and i won't be able to transfer this month. it seems our holiday may be cancelled anyway due to DH's work anyway. Man my day is not going well.

Flissa7 · 19/05/2021 15:55

Afternoon all,

Hope you’re all doing okay. I had my ET this afternoon. They’ve popped in a 5 day hatching blastocyst which the embryologist said was a 2.2 quality (on a scale of 1-3) so we’re pretty happy with that Smile. The other two are developing a little slower so they’ll call us tomorrow to let us know if any can be frozen. Xx

Flissa7 · 19/05/2021 15:56

I hope you’ve all had good days & look forward to hearing more of hope updates. Sending all the positive thoughts. Xx

2mumlife · 19/05/2021 15:59

@Bells3032 Its tough as I'm with you in terms of ideally I'd want it pre-pregnancy, but I'm iffy about having it mid-cycle (I mean, I'm hoping my period comes before next Wednesday, but knowing my luck I'll be sitting here next Wednesday with no AF wishing I'd taken the vaccine!). I'm so used now to my body having its own ideas about bleeding down there at least it makes it easier to accept. Thats a real shame about your holiday plans :(

Coops0406 · 19/05/2021 16:08

@strawberrysummer19 thanks for the info, so is it okay to mix and keep in the vial and leave there overnight? Then just draw it up into the injection in the morning? Mine are all store at room temperature so that is a little handy tip definitely!

@2mumlife I was offered mine before treatment and our clinic said as long as it was 2 weeks before EC then to take it. But not sure what clinics advise whilst in the midst of treatment.

@Bells3032 I hope things are okay and AF is just having a few hours rest!

@Flissa7 fantastic news, can't wait to hear your progress!

strawberrysummer19 · 19/05/2021 16:13

@Coops0406 that's good then - I have to keep mine in the fridge until it's mixed up but I hate mixing it up then doing the injection so for us we always make sure there's enough for the next day just so it's quicker.

X

Coops0406 · 19/05/2021 16:19

@strawberrysummer19 you'd think they'd just make it easy for us all and have it Pre-mixed 🤣 am actually bizarrely excited for the injections...not actually having to do them but just want them to hurry up so we can be that one step further on this journey!

strawberrysummer19 · 19/05/2021 16:32

@Coops0406 I know it's so fiddly! Me too I was so excited and even now I look forward to them! X

Crazydoglady123 · 19/05/2021 16:54

Sorry ladies struggling to keep up! Hope all your journeys are progressing nicely! Today's my OTD but seeing as I've been testing for the last 6 days I know it's a BFP 😂 Had my progesterone levels checked and they also did Hcg bloods too which came back at 527. Was hoping it'd indicate whether both implanted or not but none the wiser now!

@ivf2021 @notyetamumbuttrying I was down regged for an extra 6 days as I didn't bleed when expected but all went on to be fine. My ovaries were nice and quiet on the scans (with a cyst)

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/05/2021 17:13

@2mumlife it's too easy not to do! We all live in little dream world don't we, it's nice there tho 😁
My clinic told me it was my choice and sent a pdf on it. They basically advised not to do it near egg collection or transfer due to the potential change in temperature from a fever etc but otherwise it was fine. I took the punt and had it on Sunday as I'm still just under two weeks away until egg collection and I was on my period already. It's a very personal choice tho, I was dead against it at first but have slowly come round to it. No side effects apart from a very sore arm for a few days after but then she really went for me for some reason 😂
@Bells3032 you are defo not alone with that, I'm sure we all do it! Are you waiting for your period so that you can start injections?
@Flissa7 yay to bring PUPO! Hope you get to freeze some too 🤞🏾
@Crazydoglady123 yay to OTD!! I didn't realise they gave you so long for the official day! Happy to see all is progressing well 🙂 ah that was it, I knew it was something but couldn't remember the specifics.

ivf2021 · 19/05/2021 17:27

@Georgie87B thank you so much :) @Crazydoglady123 congratulations 🎉 and thank you for your info 🤞🏻 mine is fine with the extra week too xxx

Georgie87B · 19/05/2021 17:30

@Flissa7 ahh congrats on being PUPO!! 🎉🎉 Its funny how different clinics grade embryos differently. My clinics number scale goes from 1-6 with letter gradings too. I hope your other 2 embabies catch up enough for you to freeze 🤞🤞

@Crazydoglady123 that's great that your hcg came back good and just confirmed what your tests said.. Will they do another one to Check how much your levels continue to rise? Wondered if that may indicate is both embryos stuck or not?? But will also be a lovely surprise when you have a scan 😁😁

I got another phonecall from the clinic today to tell me that 1 of my slower growing embryos caught up overnight and is now also able to be frozen so now have 2 in the freezer🎉was so pleased as didn't expect it at all!

Hope everyone's doing OK today xx

2mumlife · 19/05/2021 17:48

@Georgie87B Yay that's a nice phone call to get!

@notyetamumbuttrying @Coops0406 Yeah with AF expected anytime now and it being a FET transfer (so won't take that long from AF to ET) I don't think I want to risk it. Mrs got a call too to go get vaccinated so she's off to do that so that'll help protect me in the meantime since she is physically in work and mixing with people. With working from home and living rurally I'm basically in self isolation most the time anyway!

Flissa7 · 19/05/2021 18:09

Thanks so much for all your lovely messages of support @Coops0406 @notyetamumbuttrying @Georgie87B ♥️♥️. Keeping everything crossed (as always) that the embryo is finding somewhere comfy to settle itself & that hopefully we have at least one that can frozen!

Also so pleased to hear that you’ve now got two in the freezer, Georgie - that’s awesome! 🙌🏻

Yay to OTD too, @Crazydoglady123, so pleased it’s all going so well! Xx
