Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@strawberrysummer19 well I didn't get much information I'm afraid she said it was still early to see much as I had only had 3 stims so yeah I was booked in too early so has booked me in for another scan on Thursday but said everything is looked as it's expected to look so I guess that's good x

Tarsette · 18/05/2021 16:40

@Bells3032 I’m sorry you’re feeling down. I can completely relate. I am really fed up with this whole IVF crap as well. I’ve been at it for two years, have spent a small fortune and will most likely end up with nothing at all except a few bruises on my tummy. If my lining doesn’t cooperate, I won’t even be able to transfer. Sorry don’t mean to pile on more negativity but I think it is OK to feel mad, frustrated and sad about the whole process and to acknowledge those feelings. I hope AF shows up soon so you can at least feel like you’re moving forward. Things will look brighter then.

strawberrysummer19 · 18/05/2021 18:11

@Bells3032 it's crap isn't it. Just wanted to send you a hug and say you're not alone.

@Alexm06 ah ok, well thanks for thinking of me and good luck for us on Thursday!

All today I have felt uncomfortable and bloated most the day so I'm hoping that may be a good sign my follies are growing away! I like to think that anyway

X

Hello,
I just had the results from my freeze all cycle. I got 2 frozen and they both grade 4BC. Unfortunately I missed the call from the clinic so I m struggling to find out what the grades really mean? I don't like the look of that C.
Wish I got to have a fresh transfer and feeling a bit sad today that I am going to have to wait another month to start the FET process.
With only 2 eggs in the freezer I am wondering if I am better to just do a whole new round again x x

Georgie87B · 18/05/2021 19:14

Hey everyone, transfer day was today so I am officially PUPO! 🎉
Out of the 6 that fertilised on day 1- 2x didn't progress, 2x top quality blastocysts (1 used today and the other in the freezer) and another 2 may still catch up but they will ring tomorrow if they do.

I'm really sorry to hear some of you are having a tough time at the moment. This is all such an emotional roller-coaster of emotions and hormones! Sending my love to you all! ❤️ I know the injections can be really tough emotionally some days but just try and focus of the end goal you've got this! ❤️

@StrongEagle ahh 2 is a good number! I know it's hard hearing the numbers dropping with each update but you were left with more than 1 to freeze and they only freeze the good quality ones! 😘

@VenusStarr well done on getting 3 fertilised embyros that great numbers based on what you thought you would get! You must be chuffed! 🎉

Coops0406 · 18/05/2021 19:23

Congratulations @Georgie87B ! This is great, fingers crossed for you 🥰

Flissa7 · 18/05/2021 19:56

Ahh, that’s such great news @Georgie87B - so chuffed for you! 🙌🏻😍.

Also fab to hear of your three @VenusStarr - I have three fertilised too, so keeping everything crossed that at least one has done really well when I head in for ET tomorrow.

So sorry to hear that today has been so tough for some of you lovelies - make sure you’re taking some time for yourselves - you deserve it ♥️ sending lots of positivity and hugs xx

Ps - I can’t look back far enough to see who mentioned teaching, but I’m a teacher too!

Georgie87B · 18/05/2021 20:23

Thanks @Coops0406 and @Flissa7!! 😘
Best of luck for ET tomorrow too!! Xx

Timetobemumanddad · 18/05/2021 20:31

Hi all,

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on here so late!

Sorry to hear some of you didn’t have any success this time round, sending you strength healing

Congratulations to those who got their BFP’s

In short I am 27, Dh is 35 MFI due to mumps we will most likely be icsi as we are using amps he did the sample for almost 15 years ago! My AMH is 15.9 the consultant said it wasn’t good for my age - as far as we’re aware nothing else was diagnosed from the hsg / bloods / scans

We are currently day 5 stims - I had my first follicle scan today there were 3 on the left and 2 on the right which she said were good sizes! As well as some small ones each side... my consultant doesn’t really do numbers I need to ask next time! She said the lining is thickening

Feeling slightly disheartened as the consultant appeared to speak as if she’s expected more.
Any experiences with these numbers

StrongEagle · 18/05/2021 20:38

@Georgie87B congrats on being PUPO!! Sending you all my love xx

@VenusStarr congrats on your embies 🤞🤞 xxx

2mumlife · 18/05/2021 20:59

@notyetamumbuttrying Right I've powered through the marking, mowed the lawn and went to a gym class for an endorphine kick (we only just got allowed inside my classes again yesterday), and finished the last day of the mindful IVF app prep programme. Universe, I'm now ready for AF please!

@prayingforabubba @Flissa7 I'm a big person lecturer Smile but I work in widening participation and Access for a brick uni, and also a tutor for the OU. So with every student having extensions my work load has been a total shit show this year!

@VenusStarr Fingers crossed for a day 5 transfer for you!

@StrongEagle There are LOADS of success stories with embryos graded 3CC (I think that's really as low as they'll freeze them), so your 4BC is still really good and no reason they won't work well! I'd personally give your frosties a go - EC is a big physical deal, and lots of people seem to have success with FET rather than fresh transfer.

@Georgie87B Congrats! Fingers crossed you get a good update tomorrow for the other ones!

@Bells3032 Thats disappointing for you Sad

Hoping4baby21 · 18/05/2021 21:07

@Georgie87B congrats on being PUPO! Hope you have a quick and lovely TWW! Congrats on some in the freezer aswell!

@StrongEagle congrats on getting two in the freezer! Sounds like good embryos to me but I understand it is disappointing and not the outcome you hope for. I hope you feel better soon.

I hope everyone struggling with this journey feels better. This road is so rough, sending hugs.

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/05/2021 21:16

@2mumlife go you 👏🏾 she'll come overnight now hopefully 🙏🏾
@Georgie87B congrats on being PUPO!!

Caught this earlier, for anyone waiting for their rainbow 🌈

Has anyone used fyremadel?

I've just got it all ready for the morning as need to do it at 7am and the needle looks bigger and thicker than the menopur?

This one is going in the leg but still it looks so much bigger?! X

notyetamumbuttrying · 18/05/2021 21:38

@strawberrysummer19 eek sounds intimidating! I'm not there yet but do have it for when I am. Interested to hear from the others.

Coops0406 · 18/05/2021 21:47

@strawberrysummer19 I'm similar to @notyetamumbuttrying it's part of my meds but I've started my injections yet...seems to be taking forever to get there!

StrongEagle · 18/05/2021 21:57

@strawberrysummer19 hey, I used Fyremandal. I found it harder to inject then the very thin pen but youve got this! X if I can do it anyone can x it's a bit itchy after but nothing to worry about x

Bells3032 · 19/05/2021 00:30

@strawberrysummer19 ah I hate frymadel. Found it so hard and painful to get through. A bit of ice or emla will put paid to that though. I also found it better to walk round a bit afterwards rather than sit else it got itchy and crampy.

I did mine in my tummy though

strawberrysummer19 · 19/05/2021 07:56

Update on fyremadel

It was absolutely fine! Much better than the menopur I found

Maybe because it's in the leg I don't know?

Yes the needles thicker but I didn't feel it was any different - long as you do it in a nice quick motion and because there is so much less fluid than my menopur I found it a lot quicker to administer. It takes so long for menopur to go on ( I'm on 450) this one was so quick!

Slight sting but I found menopur much more uncomfortable

X

ivf2021 · 19/05/2021 08:11

Hi ladies

I'm on my first round of ivf been ttc for over 5 years now. We have mfi but all of my tests so far have been ok. Started down regulation on day 4 of cycle because of a cancellation after 2 years of Tests and set backs. Went for baseline scan today to see if down regulation has worked after 3 weeks of injections. To be told I haven't down regulated and have 2 small cysts on one ovary and been informed to continue for Atleast another week. Has anyone else had a similar problem and what was the outcome??? Feel like every appointment there is another set back :( would love some hope or advice xxx

Coops0406 · 19/05/2021 08:48

@strawberrysummer19 good news! Can you do those ones in either the thigh or tummy?

I have just looked through my pack of injections for the first time...my first ones are meriofert which I have to mix 3 powders for the required dosage...has anyone been on meriofert and was it easy enough to mix? I watched a video but they make it look so easy!

Coops0406 · 19/05/2021 08:50

@ivf2021 hi, just wanted to say hi really. I'm pretty far behind everyone and not been asked to go for a baseline scan, so I'm sorry I can't offer any advice at all. But I hope things start to progress for you 😊

strawberrysummer19 · 19/05/2021 09:05

@Coops0406 I think you can do either but I'm just going with what my clinic told me.

My clinics nurse sat down with me and went through how to administer the drugs which I must admit that has helped doing it face to face especially the making up.

But like with anything once you've done one you'll be fine.

My only tip with menopur is that we make up all ready the night before as once it's been mixed up it doesn't need to go in the fridge so I just find it less faffy as we have a little one who is still up at the time we have to do the injections so we just sneak off ! X

ivf2021 · 19/05/2021 09:09

@Coops0406 thank you so much for ur reply :) hope ur journey gets started soon xxx

notyetamumbuttrying · 19/05/2021 09:09

@strawberrysummer19 glad it was ok! I started menopur last night and found that needle much harder to get in than the buserelin.
@ivf2021 hi, I had my baseline scan on Monday and they thought I had a cyst, apparently buserelin can cause them. So I had to have a blood test and had to wait 24 hours for the results before I knew whether I could start menopur or not. In the end I could, so it seems like it can happen. I think @Crazydoglady123 might have had to down reg for longer?! Sorry to summon you, hope you're getting on well still xx
