Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@StrongEagle sorry I was writing whilst you posted so looks like I was rude and ignored you, sorry.
I can't offer any advice I'm afraid but I would still be super excited in your position - lots to look forward to and even better if there is no injections X

@C1aire85 thanks 😘 I have to admit I am excited to trigger tonight and have that be my last injection. Not that they were awful but my tummy is uncomfy now and I am definitely done with them xxxx roll on the last jab tonight x

@JesHope345 that is such a good result congrats! Hope you weren't too uncomfortable before EC that's a lot of follicles! And I hope you get excellent news in your update tomorrow.

@DoctorBambino great news on your EC, feel like this has all come around so quick do you guys.

@VenusStarr hope your progress this gets you in for EC Monday so you can get some relief from stim side effects! 🙂

@StrongEagle exciting that your trigger is tonight, good luck for you EC. Sorry about the OHSS risk but as you said better not to risk getting sick. That is good you can move on straight in your next cycle. I think as long as you don't start progesterone you don't need to skip a cycle but do t quote me on it 🙂

@C1aire85 welcome!!! I'm on short protocol about to start stims 18th May and my EC should be around that bank holiday weekend as well! Best of luck to you with this cycle. You are right this thread makes the whole thing not feel so daunting.

My clinic haven't said anything about having to test, they are all so different.

@Bells3032 ahh no isolating, totally makes sense otherwise it is hard to work out what is a reasonable risk and what is not. I'm realising now these things that I agreed to before which I'm no longer comfortable with and having to break the news and cancel on people. Luckily it's just my small circle of friends and they know what is going on and are understanding.

@StrongEagle sorry you are having to wait but I think there’s some evidence FETs may have better results anyway. Gives your body time to recover. I get that it’s tough having to wait another cycle for transfer though

I had my embryo transfer today so am official PUPO! Feels very strange. Also been trying to prevent my preschooler from kicking me in the pelvis all day . I’ve had 1 put back in and they are freezing 2 fc.

My OTD is only 11 days away though, I thought it was usually 15 days or something after transfer. I’m not complaining I may do a sneaky test before that anyway!

@C1aire85 welcome!! I am with Bourn Hall having ICSI too and have also been on gonal-f, Cetrotide and then Crinone (was supposed to be cyclogest but due to a shortage had a last minute change). I am due to trigger tomorrow (Ovitrelle) and EC on Thursday so am currently in the self isolating period. I know it all feels so daunting at the moment and just given the schedule and left to it but you will do fine. The scariest bit so far for me was the thought of injecting but as soon as the first one done its not half as bad as you think. You will be fine! 👍

@StrongEagle good luck with your trigger tonight and an injection free day tomorrow! That's good news that you can go straight onto a FET the next month and will give your body time to get over growing all them eggs!

Quick update from me- had my 2nd scan today and follicles are continuing to grow nicely so trigger shot tomorrow and EC Thursday morning as planned 😬

Centrotide is a bit of an arsehole isn't it?! Got all hot and bothered putting that one together. Got a nice pink blotch too, I'm guessing that's normal?

@Bells3032 It's good fun the BSL :) Sounds like you have such a clear plan which is great :) My first time TTC was IUI cycle last year, and as it was the first time in my life I could have ever actually been pregnant it was a bit weird. I'm not sure when it stopped feeling like "oh my gosh I could be" but that's really worn out quickly for me - now it's just a "could this please damn work this time".

@VenusStarr All sounding good so far for you, 3 good quality mature eggs would be great come EC day :)

@C1aire85 Welcome to the gang! You'll find a variety of different drugs and procedures being used. You might find you don't get cyclogest though at the moment - there's a shortage. Good luck with everything!

@StrongEagle Stay positive during your freeze-all, it's time to rest and recover before FET :)

@mowglika Exciting to have 2 to freeze! My clinic tests approx 10 days after transfer 2 (your embryo is 5 days old remember, so you've been in the TWW since EC) some clinics leave it longer though

All pretty boring here. Trying to get on top of work ready for cycle staring, whilst also hitting the mindfulness app to get myself into a more positive space.

Hi, I hope you don't mind, I just wanted to join as we started ivf treatment last week...currently on my second week of norithisterone and so huge, bloated and put on weight in just a week! I have this for 21 days in total then hopefully a bleed, then on with injections from 29th May, and egg retrieval on the 9th June! Has anyone been on norithisterone first and had similar side effects?

@Coops0406 welcome!! Well done for starting your meds! I was on norethisterone for 2 weeks before starting my injections but didn't find I got any side effects the bloating for me came after injections started... I hope the start of your journey is a good one and the bloating starts to ease once AF comes as it will be back again once your follicles start to grow 😊

I think a lot of people are much further down the line than me

Any tips / things to expect at this early stage ?!

I have meds at the ready and they are taking me through them today at the scan

I'm excited and hoping for a good result

My last follicle can was jan and showed 9 but my AMH was only 5.6 so they said that was good
So hoping for a good result today

I felt horribly bloated last night but much better this morning. We got our update. Of the 15 collected, 14 were mature, 11 have fertilised normally and the other 3 have also fertilised but are abnormal. She said one was fertilised by too many sperm, haha husband very proud of that! Can't believe it's such a great rate, next update on Thursday!

@DoctorBambino what a great day 1 update, keeping everything crossed for your little embabies over the next few day!

I’ve had quite a bit of cramping and felt a bit sick yesterday, but that’s it. It just feels like AF is about to turn up tbh. Sorry for just moaning 😣 How are things going for you?

Good luck today @strawberrysummer19 I had my baseline scan at the end of my last cycle, but showed 8 follicles. My amh is 5.9 and my first scan yesterday showed 3 good sized follicles and 5 more smaller ones. I'm on day 6 of stims today.

Feeling a bit flat today. My tummy has expanded overnight, which is surprising as not much is going on in there. Hoping the follicles are still growing when I go back tomorrow. Think I'm going to book next week off work as I'll either be in egg collection / transfer (if I get that far). Struggling to feel like this will work. I think my brain is wired to expect the worst after everything we've been through to this point. Sorry to be on a downer.

@DoctorBambino that is great news this morning. 🤞 that they progress nicely and you get good quality blasts.

My news is not so great. So 25 eggs yesterday. 17 mature and 10 fertilised. Lost a few eggs during icsi as some eggs were fragile. I asked the embryologist reasons for the high drop off and she said you tend to get this a lot with people who have an high AFC the quantity tends to compromise quality. The next update will be on Thursday and transfer provisionally booked for Saturday. Praying and hoping I get some good quality blasts for transfer.

@JesHope345 Try to remain positive - you had a really high number of eggs collected - 10 fertilised is fantastic for a day 1 update.

@DoctorBambino You've done amazing to have so many mature eggs! 11 fertilised is another amazing outcome to have at this stage!

@TeaAndCrumpets1 Stay focussed on the positive. When is your OTD? Are you thinking about testing early?

@Georgie87B thanks for the welcome and noce to hear of someone else on norithisterone...I think bloating is just a general issue for me made more prominent with this! My AMH level is quite high for my age and they think potential hyper stimulation so I can see the 10 or so days of injections being quite uncomfortable!

Please can I have your thoughts on this...
What do we all think about the effect of the Covid vaccine on sperm...? Dh has been called up for his and he was gonna go Sunday but this is before egg collection. Have seen ppl saying it can affect sperm, so want him to do it afterwards but he's eager to get vaxxed which is fair enough! Thoughts?? Anecdotal or otherwise!

We've decided to wait until after EC for his vaccine, just don't feel comfortable when we have no idea what it can do to sperm - at present he has nice healthy swimmers so wanna keep it that way! In my opinion it's not too long to wait.

My scan was good, starting injections tomorrow!!!!! I had 12 follicles so happy with that

It's my EC tomorrow and I'm so scared. I've never been sedated before, only been fully knocked out and that was when having a full on op. Can anyone put my mind at ease? I dunno how I am going to sleep tonight, such a bloody worrier! I can really feel my ovaries now and I am pretty bloated so can't wait to be on the other side of this part now x

@StrongEagle wishing you all the best for EC tomorrow. I totally understand your nerves. They will talk through the procedure in detail with you tomorrow morning which helps to settle any nerves. You’ll be in a proper theatre and there will be quite a few people in there - there was probably about 8 in with me. They put a cannula in, gave me some strong painkillers which made the room spin and put an oxygen mask on. They must have knocked me straight out after that as next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery! A nurse will sit with you until you come to. Once you’re up and speaking (and they’ve given you tea & biscuits!) you’ll be able to go home pretty much straight away. I would recommend bringing a dressing gown, slippers, phone, something to read, a sanitary pad and that’s it really. I bought a whole bag and didn’t use any of it 😆 if you’ve got heat pads they’re nice for your tummy afterwards.

@2mumlife thanks lovely 💓 OTD is this Friday, so 9dp5dt 🤯😥 it’s really early, and has come around very quick. I won’t be testing early, as I’m lucky to have an early test date from my clinic already. We’ve told our family that it’ll be two weeks though, so we’ve got a couple of days to process whatever outcome it is. I think I’ve only taken about three or so tests in the whole 20 months of trying, as I can spot my period coming a mile off, so I’m hugely nervous for Friday!!
