Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@StrongEagle The suspense is the worst bit. The sedation will be over before you know it. You're in good hands I'm sure.

@TeaAndCrumpets1 You getting blood HCG yeah? My clinic do that too but days 10 - 13 depending on when weekends fall, but 9 is shortest I think I've heard! It's nice you have some days to process either way. Every day you don't bleed is a good day and just stay focussed on that if you can until you know on Friday. Fingers crossed for you!

DoctorBambino · 11/05/2021 21:09

@StrongEagle you'll honestly be absolutely fine. The only thing is the leg stirrups are a bit daunting. I have shit veins so they had to do my cannula three times, I must have gone out like a light because I only remember them doing it twice but woke up with it in a different place! My memory afterwards was very patchy, I had a full conversation with DH I completely forgot a few minutes later! It will be over before you know it. I'll be thinking of you, good luck 👍

TeaAndCrumpets1 · 11/05/2021 21:10

@2mumlife yep I have to go to the clinic to have bloods on Friday, regardless of result. I expect the early test date is because my clinic is closed over the weekend so they can’t draw bloods at either 10 or 11 days! I’m living in fear every time I go to the loo right now...I had really bad period-like cramps yesterday and overnight; it woke me up! Everything just feels like I’m about to come on, so that’s not helping my already frazzled nerves 😫😫

Hoping4baby21 · 11/05/2021 21:39

@Coops0406 welcome!!

@strawberrysummer19 welcome!! I'm on short protocol and will start early next week meds arriving tomorrow! 😬 Hope your scan went ok. I wish I had a face to face meds walk through we got sent videos.

@DoctorBambino glad your feeling better! And great fertilisation rates! Have they said if you are doing 3 day or 5 day transfer yet?

@TeaAndCrumpets1 from what I have read AF and early pregnancy symptoms are very similar fingers crossed for you!

@JesHope345 I think that is still a great outcome. I know it's a big drop but 10 fertilised is great!

@StrongEagle I don't have advise as I haven't been through it yet but best of luck and I'm sure your in great hands 🙂

Georgie87B · 12/05/2021 06:54

@StrongEagle good luck with EC today! Like everyone else has said you are in good hands I'm sure everything will be fine xx

Update from me, I triggered last night 🎉 woo hoo! so going to enjoy my injection free day and prepare for EC first thing tomorrow!! Gotta be there for 7.30am so nice and early! Slightly nervous but keen to get it over and done with and after today I have the rest of the week and next week booked off work so going to try and take it easy and binge on Netflix! (probably easier said than done)

Hope everyone else is doing OK! ❤️

Coops0406 · 12/05/2021 07:10

@Hoping4baby21 thank you so much! Nice to be on here and follow people's journeys, knowing you're not on your own! Still trying to fathom out the abbreviations for things but slowly getting there! 🥳

@C1aire85i I just read that you have been on norithisterone and are now on your injections...I think I'm a couple of weeks behind with my injections starting on 29th May, just before your EC! How are you finding the injections after norithisterone? I'm finding I'm so bloated and uncomfortable already so I hope it calms down before the injections start! Hope all is going well for you 😊

Coops0406 · 12/05/2021 07:13

@Georgie87B exciting stuff!!! Are you due to have a fresh or frozen transfer? This feed makes me so excited for everyone! 😍 enjoy your injection free day!

Georgie87B · 12/05/2021 08:10

@Coops0406 ahh thanks! I know it's quite comforting talking to everyone on here and knowing there is other people going through the same things as you and that your not alone.
One thing I have found super helpful if you haven't already done so is buying an IVF diary to keep track of meds and appointments, symptoms Etc.

I am due to have a fresh transfer if all goes to plan.🤞

Coops0406 · 12/05/2021 08:31

@Georgie87B I just bought a scrapbook at the weekend and have started writing in it as I realised I was forgetting my whole journey so far! So now I'm writing everything down and as much as I can remember from before! 😊

Coops0406 · 12/05/2021 08:33

@Georgie87B so good you are having a fresh transfer! We are having the PGT-A testing due to my age and AMH level so will have to be frozen unless they are not strong enough to withstand the freezing/thawing process.

Excited for you at this stage and to hear how EC goes!

Prayingforabubba · 12/05/2021 09:22

Hi everyone,

I hope it's not too late to join?

Little backstory on me . I'm 31 and DH is 34. We have been trying for 22 months and have been diagnosed with MFI. It's our first go at IVF (and hopefully the only one) and we started injections last night 🙏🏼 would be lovely to talk to some people at similar stages.

I haven't had a chance yet to read up but will do so today. Wishing you all the best on this journey x

mowglika · 12/05/2021 09:50

@Georgie87B woohoo! Good luck, hope you got superb numbers this morning

@JesHope345 your numbers are completely fine - 15 eggs is about right before quality goes down. From that point it’s just attrition rates at each stage that finally lead to your blasts. So if you had 15 and had 80% mature and 80% you’d have around 9-10 fertilised now. You’re on track

@TeaAndCrumpets1 fingers tightly crossed for you, early pregnancy symptoms are similar to pre period so don’t worry about that. Really hope we hear of a bfp on this group very soon Smile from you and @Crazydoglady123

Welcome @Prayingforabubba

Nothing new from me, day 2 post transfer, all is well so far, I’ve been doing my cyclogest twice and day and lying down and I use that time to listen to post transfer fertility meditations which is quite soothing Grin

Coops0406 · 12/05/2021 09:59

Hi @Prayingforabubba just wanted to say hi...I only joined a couple of days ago and already feel so much better just knowing there are so many other people in similar situations. Look forward to hearing your updates 😊

Georgie87B · 12/05/2021 10:39

@mowglika thank you! I have EC tomorrow but will make sure I let you all know how I get on.
Good to hear you are doing OK and taking it easy after your transfer 😁

@Prayingforabubba welcome! I think there are a few of us on our first cycle in this feed so don't worry your not alone. We are also doing ifv due to MF issues, will you be doing ICSI as well do you know?
Well done for starting injections I finished mine last night and found the last 11 days went super quick so hopefully it does for you too!

@Coops0406 ahh Yea I am trying to do a scrap book too I think anything to keep me busy is probably a good thing! 😂 And will be something to keep and look back on the journey in years to come!

VenusStarr · 12/05/2021 10:52

Just back from my second scan. Had a trainee doctor today so had wanda in for about 20 minutes 😬

Not sure how I feel. One massive follicle that averages about 19mm (was 12mm on Monday!) then 3 decent sized ones and a few more have joined in ranging from 6mm-9mm who they think may catch up.

But I've got to go back tomorrow morning (and then drive to London for my intralipid infusions) and possible trigger tomorrow for Saturday egg collecting. But they might call me later to trigger tonight depending n my bloods xx

walshh091186 · 12/05/2021 12:52

Hi wondering whether I could join the group.... i am currently starting my 3rd and final attempt of ivf for our 2nd baby. We have to frozen embroyos left and I had my prostat injection (on day 21) on Tuesday 4th may and I had endometrial scratch the day after . I have had my bleed today so been sent for a scan in 10 days time on 21st.... anyone else at sort of same stage as me??
Thanks x

2mumlife · 12/05/2021 13:15

@TeaAndCrumpets1 Oh lovely, its just horrible isn't it? You'll be over-analysing every sensation at the moment. Can you do something to distract you, or some self-care to make you feel calmer?

@mowglika Glad you're taking it easy. Are you expecting a day 3 update tomorrow?

@VenusStarr Let us know what bloods say, as I know they triggered me when my dominant follicule was a biggy like yours.

So, only update on our end is I've decided to be optimistic and double-down on my hope this is all going to work eventually - so we've been buying a bit more donor sperm for #2 in the hope that we get baby number 1 either on this FET cycle or during our from a second EC round. I've always said I wanted to use same donor and go for 2 babies, so I'm going with the heart and trying to act positively and will my babies into being.

Bells3032 · 12/05/2021 13:43

@VenusStarr ouch 20 minutes? that sounds very uncomfy. I always feel sorry for people who have dozens of folicles and how long it takes to scan them all. It's probably gonna be a balancing act between not letting the biggy overmature and the little ones catch up. My first round i had this and they went for the latter so let us know what happens.

@Prayingforabubba welcome and good luck. you got this.

@walshh091186 welcome and good luck. fingers crossed for the frostie to work

StrongEagle · 12/05/2021 14:11

Thank you so much @TeaAndCrumpets1 @2mumlife @DoctorBambino @Hoping4baby21 @Georgie87B all your messages and the explanation of what happens really helped me x

This morning I woke up with a painful tummy which made the journey to EC very unpleasant but as you told me it it would be, it was painless and quick. And I woke up in a lot less pain then when I went in, which was great!

We got 12 eggs, so 🤞 for a good fertilisation number tomorrow xx

Thanks again for all your support this place and people has helped me so much and reassured me when I have felt so nervous x

Bells3032 · 12/05/2021 14:19

@StrongEagle that's a good number. Keeping my fingers crossed for you

VenusStarr · 12/05/2021 14:23

At one point the doctor scraped wanda over my cervix 👍 😬 @Bells3032 I think that's why I zoned out, I find the scans quite triggering with everything that's happened and I just closed my eyes on Monday and it was straightforward. Plus they were just saying lots of numbers to the nurse. They did show me the screen every so often. The trainee was petrified, he just kept saying are you OK, am I hurting you?

I called to speak with a nurse as I don't think I was remembering properly. So I have an 18,16,12,10mm which they're happy with then a couple around 6-9mm. They'll review my bloods later and will call around 6 if I am triggering today.

Glad all went well @StrongEagle 🤞 for your fertilisation report tomorrow :)

Being optimistic is good @2mumlife I don't necessarily feel negative, I'm just a bit flat and unsure what to think. The doctors and nurses seem really happy with my response 🤷🏻‍♀️ trying to trust the process.

I'm just waiting to go into acupuncture. My lining was 6.8mm today, so hoping she'll send a bit more blood that way!

👋 To the newbies xx

Bells3032 · 12/05/2021 14:24

@StrongEagle that's a good number. Keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hoping4baby21 · 12/05/2021 14:27

@StrongEagle excellent great numbers! I'm sure your fertilisation rates will be great!

Coops0406 · 12/05/2021 15:28

@walshh091186 hi, I hope you're well. I'm just at the very start of my ivf journey so can't be much help I'm afraid.

@StrongEagle keeping my fingers crossed for you, so far so good 👍🏾🤞🏾

2mumlife · 12/05/2021 15:30

@StrongEagle Congrats on the successful EC!

@VenusStarr Yeah I think you just need to trust the process sometimes. I feel flat a lot of the time too with it, so trying to embrace an attitude change for this next cycle
