Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@Bells3032 Wow you did 2 EC's with no transfers yet? You've put yourself through a lot so far. Hopefully all that hard work pays off this cycle for you! TWW is my nemisis - I have NEVER made it to an official testing date without my period starting before that, so my TWWs are always full of worry and expecting my period to start at any point (I have NO advice I'm afraid on surviving it better, sorry!)

@DoctorBambino I think its just recommend to lie down, I don't think its strict? And if its just the 1 dosage you wont lie down it'll probably be fine (maybe just ask clinic?). This is where cylogest up the bum was the bees knees in comparison - no lying down, easy to insert-and-go pretty much anywhere, no leakage. I never thought I'd be feeling positive towards cyclogest

@Georgie87B I think all the meds say localised skin reactions can happen, but if its particualrly bad or worried just give clinic a ring. Hopefully your body gets used to it.

@2mumlife I'm finding the utrogestan applicator too annoying. My pessaries get stuck in it or to it and when I pull it out they come out too 🙈 so I've last night and today just poked them up there myself. In the morning I only lay for 10-15mins. Night time I take them before bed. Have to say they are gross!

@mowglika congrats on EC! Can you not request a day 5 transfer?

@Georgie87B not cetrotide but I had that everyday of my down regs on buserelin. It'd go after half an hour

Had my day 3 update today and 8 of the 9 are good quality which is apparently the highest grade they can give on day 3 (but 2 of the 8 are at the day 4 stage already!) and the other 1 is of average quality. Transfer is Saturday at 10.30am but have acupuncture at my clinic booked at 9.30am

@Crazydoglady123 Whoops I got a day ahead! That's great for a day 3 update! I had thought about if they could just be poked up instead of using the applicator, but I have a high cervix (might be something to do with my cervix also being short?) and small hands, so not sure!

@2mumlife yes, my AMH is so low despite being only 32 and my DH's meds (which help him produce sperm) are making his blood pressure high so i don't want him staying on it long term. so we decided to bank the first two rounds for a second baby in future. Hopefully five will be enough. We'd hoped to get 7 but we are getting impatient now and i don't want to go through another round without transfer.

@Crazydoglady123 sorry it’s sat isn’t it. I blame the hormones I think I will speak to them on sat before they make a decision about transfer just to put my mind at ease. It’s all a moot point atm anyway as we don’t know how many will make it to day 3

First stim injection done!! 💉 🥳 It took me a couple of minutes to build up the courage and I barely felt it!! 😂 But we've officially started, woop!

Sorry I missed your day 3 update, that’s great news! All that protein supercharged your embryos, sounds like they are doing great! Are you doing anything to prepare for transfer? I’m still drinking beetroot juice but thinking I should start foods for implantation soon

I feel much better @mowglika thank you. Especially now we've officially got started :) I'm definitely on my period too, just a super slow starter.

For those that have done egg collection, how many days of stims did you do? X

@VenusStarr haha I squealed and shut my eyes 😂 can't stand to see it going in, freaks me out lol! I'm glad you handled it like a boss 💪🏾
I asked similar the other day about stimming as my place say 10-14 days! I think most said it was between 9 -11.

That's good about the length of stims. Dh has an event on 16th and will obviously miss it if its our egg collection day, but I think he'll be OK to still go. X

Mine has a "lads day" out on the 22nd, have said you can't go wild as it'll likely be EC 5-7 days later! I have a girls weekend away 🤦🏾‍♀️ will be stocking up on low alcohol lagers and bitters and buying lemonade to make shandy. Gonna tell one friend so that she can help me out should the others question me!
@2mumlife he fills the needle but I inject, will see if he'll do it tomorrow and see what I prefer.

@mowglika I have read the drop off comes between day 3 and day 5 so we'll see! I'm having pineapple with core for breakfast every day and Pom juice. I'm booked for acupuncture before and after transfer too

Hi ladies, sorry for being quiet recent weeks. I've visited doctor after my MMC, she advised taking a break of at least 2 cycles (which is est. June) , and then trying for FET with my only one frozen embryo left (graded IIIAB).

Little update from me - scan went well this morning and I'm all set for egg collection on Monday!!! So excited! The nurse said if they get more than 20 eggs it will be a freeze all. Looks like I've got 22 follicles so I don't think they'll get 20 eggs from that, especially as some are quite small still but should be a pretty good haul! For those that were interested I will have done 10 days of stims before collection.

She was very suprised I'm not uncomfortable or feeling bloated!

Hope everyone else with scans/collection/waiting on embryo updates etc is doing well today!

@DoctorBambino ah good luck with it. is this your first round? 20 is a really good number. you don't want to go over that!

@Crazydoglady123 thank you lovely! Sounds like your embabies are doing really well, fingers crossed tomorrow goes well for you and you’ve got a few to put in the freezer.

@mowglika that’s a great fertilisation rate. Fingers crossed for a day 5 transfer for you. My clinics approach was that they’d book a day 5 transfer if there were 2+ top quality at day 2, if there was 1 top quality they’d book a day 3 transfer, but I know it varies between clinics.

I got my meds before Easter so I must have managed to get my hands on some cyclogest before the shortage kicked in! I think I’d actually do two injections each day rather than having a pessary though 😆 I lie down for 30 mins after each one and they are still so messy! But I’ve always worried about my progesterone levels, so I’m glad to be having them.

@olipoli123 good suggestion, June isn't that far away either! Best of luck for your last embryo! Would you have another fresh round should that not be successful?

@TeaAndCrumpets1 I've not got to the pessary part but not looking forward to it. Have heard it's messy business!

@TeaAndCrumpets1 You're lucky to get hands on cyclogest! Has your clinic advised how long you need to take it if you get a BFP? I know it varies between clinics (I was only on it until OTD but others have been advised to take longer), and might mean you'd have to move to something else if you need to keep taking it and they can't get cyclogest? Hoenstly, I'd just pop it up the back passage if you feel comfortable with that - nothing leaks that way, and you just poop the fatty casing back out.

I also had my first scan today and looks like I have around 15 follicles of which currently 6 of them are between 11 and 13mm and the rest are between 7 and 9mm. She seemed pretty happy with how I'm progressing and hopefully by my next scan on Monday they grow a bit more to keep me on track for EC next Thursday 🤞

@2mumlife had my nurse appointment today ahead of round 3. I have my cytogest from round 1 in Jan. Was worried about changing half way through but said if there's still a shortage then they'll give me utologest three times a day instead of twice a day as its basically the same thing and its fine to switch

@Bells3032 Good to know clinics have a plan and that its all ok to switch :) They must have sent you a stockpile of cyclogest! My clinic only seems to send my excessive amounts of the expensive drugs
