Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

@Nix49816 congrats on your transfer all the good energy that your embryos make themselves right at home 🙂

@Hopefuleggs welcome and best of luck with this cycle! I'm going to be starting with ABC (Creates sister company in just under 2 weeks) Happy with them so far and like their approach.

@VenusStarr ok I'm here for the good news and period progress! Fingers crossed for you that AF makes herself well and truly known tomorrow!

@VenusStarr Hope AF is here in earnest this morning!

@KayReeves I had just Menapur during my fresh cycle, but I down regulated with Prostap (single injection). I used gonal-F on my IUI cycles but not IVF

@Nix49816 Hope the spotting has stopped this morning. Urgh Utrogestan sounds a right faff compared to cyclogest. At least I'm working from home so the laying down bit is at least achievable. Discharge sounds gross, will stock up on the pantyliners then! you're right though, if it works it's all worth it! Thanks for the sharing experience :)

StrongEagle · 06/05/2021 07:57

@VenusStarr sending all my positive vibes your way x x

@clolo I was on 300 gonal f for my first 3 days and then 225 after that and I was worried it was too much. I am sure your dosage is right but I think to put your mine at rest contact the clinic?

@Nix49816 I'm going to be in Utrogesten too, so this is such useful info. Do you know how long you need to take it for? I seem to have been sent a lifetimes supply 😂

@clolo that does sound high! I was on the equivalent 300iu menopur and I have AMH 17 and AFC 13. Perhaps they plan to stim you for a shorter period? Was it based on a previous response to meds maybe, i think @JesHope345 had lower dose due to risk of ohss but they had to up her dose as her follicles weren’t responding

Def contact your clinic and ask them to call you back before you start

@Nix49816 good luck with your 2ww and welcome @Hopefuleggs

Morning. Thanks for checking in @2mumlife @StrongEagle :)

I'm starting stims tonight 🙏!! Spoke to a lovely nurse today and we chatted about the spotting vs bleeding and she said she thinks we should put day 1 as yesterday and get started. I've got my first monitoring scan on Monday 🤞 I'm still a bit anxious - but I think that's me in general right now 😕
I'm on 225 of bemfola.

@clolo definitely check if you're worried.

I'm another one who'll be taking the lovely Utrogesten, I'm used to back door cyclogest, will stock up on panty liners. Good job I'm working from home to lie down!

Hope everyone else is doing OK. @notyetamumbuttrying, did you do your first injection yesterday? X

DoctorBambino · 06/05/2021 08:52

Oh god you guys I didn't know about this lying down business with utrogestan!! I'm meant to be on a 3 day training course with work the week following my transfer (if all goes to plan). Its an all day thing, how am I going to explain lying on the floor for half an hour!?! 😳😂

TeaAndCrumpets1 · 06/05/2021 09:20

Thanks @DoctorBambino, @Georgie87B, @notyetamumbuttrying, @StrongEagle, @Hoping4baby21 💓

Hello transfer twin @Nix49816! The spotting you’ve experienced sounds like it could be a result of the transfer procedure - I always bleed after smears and I guess it’s a similar type of procedure. Definitely worth checking with your clinic though.

Welcome to the team @Hopefuleggs 😃

@clolo I was on 450 of Meriofert, but my AMH and AFC were on the lower end. I’m sure your clinic will have a rationale behind your dose as they won’t want to put you at risk of over-stimulating, but it might be worth chatting to them to put your mind at rest though.

@VenusStarr good luck lovely! Xx

Georgie87B · 06/05/2021 09:25

@VenusStarr arr that's great news that you are getting started🎉 hope everything is smooth sailing for you going forward 🙏.

I have just started my 2nd injection today (cetrotide) and have a slight reddish raised reaction around the injection site I read that that can be a side effect and wondered if anyone else experienced this??

Hoping4baby21 · 06/05/2021 09:29

@VenusStarr 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 so happy for you!

notyetamumbuttrying · 06/05/2021 10:29

@VenusStarr yay to starting!! 🥳
Yep first one yesterday which went fine, second one today really hurt. Didn't ice it this time so will remember to always do that before.
@Georgie87B no reaction for me, worth checking in with your clinic I think.

VenusStarr · 06/05/2021 10:39

@DoctorBambino will you be in a room with other people? 😂 I'm not sure how you can style put a lie down if you're in public...

Thank you @TeaAndCrumpets1 @Georgie87B @Hoping4baby21 @notyetamumbuttrying 🥳🥳🥳

I've got to go to my recurrent miscarriage clinic next Thursday down in Surrey and I've realised that I'll not be back in time for my evening injection. Has anyone else done injections out and about? I'm assuming I'll just put some ice packs in a little insulated bag with my injection and do it in the car?? I'll have to park in a secluded corner at the services 😂😂

Hopefuleggs · 06/05/2021 10:47

Thanks all for your welcome :)
Had my second injection last night with no issues. I'm on 150 Bemfola.

Has anyone heard or taking collagen powder? I heard ita great for gut lining so started taking it - best side affect ever - amazing deep sleeps. If you're anxious or struggling with busy brain at night, give it a go! Wonderful rested nights to set you up for a challenging period :) I am taking bovine powder

2mumlife · 06/05/2021 11:16

@StrongEagle I've been told Utrogestan and Estelle (which is the estrogen but I',m on FET cycle) is full dose for frist 11 weeks, then reduce dosage to stop at 13 weeks of pregnancy.

@VenusStarr Happy stim day! I'm glad to find someone else who was a back-door goer with the cyclogest. We'll crack (pun intended) this Utrogestan thing though! I've not done injections on the go, but I did have to take a cylogest on the go last cycle - I made the stupid mistake of putting it in my pocket, which got warm, so of course it was partially melted. Messiest dosage I took!

Bells3032 · 06/05/2021 11:23

Hiiii. I am due to start 3rd cycle on May 17th (or around then knowing my body). we have 5 blasts in the freezer from the previous two rounds to save for baby no 2 and now we are heading for cycle 3 with my first ever transfer after to conceive baby no 1!!

I have never TTC naturally as we knew it wouldn't be possible so this will be my first ever TWW. little nervous, little scared, little frustrated at how long this has taken!

Hoping4baby21 · 06/05/2021 11:47

@Hopefuleggs I have started taking powdered collagen and a super greens mix for exactly that reason. I feel better within myself less bloated etc but haven't noticed a difference in sleep. Would love that side effect!

Hoping4baby21 · 06/05/2021 12:24

@Hopefuleggs do you take it at night? Maybe that's the difference?

mowglika · 06/05/2021 12:51

Day 1 update of 15 eggs, 10 were mature, and 9 have fertilised. They’re saying it will be a day 3 transfer if there is one clear leader, otherwise day 5.

Bit confused as I thought day 5 was always the preference if you have more embryos, will have to ask when I speak to the embryologist next. Was anyone else told that?

Also I thought issues with sperm make themselves known day 3-5 so would have thought they would let the embryos go in a natural selection process.
Any thoughts on that?

DoctorBambino · 06/05/2021 13:30

That's interesting @mowglika yes I thought the same as you that 5 day was preferable and sperm issues show day 3-5. I thought they only did a day 3 if there was only really 1 and they were worried it might not get to day 5 but I'm really new to all this so could be confused. Definitely worth checking with your clinic.

@venusstarr yes I'll be in a room with other people as its face to face due to the nature of the training! Maybe I'll say I've got a bad back or something!?! Haha the things we do eh.

Hope everyone who is starting injections today goes well. I've lost track of where everyone is at! Lots of love and positivity to all!

mowglika · 06/05/2021 13:35

Thanks @DoctorBambino will have to read up on this

@Crazydoglady123 good luck for your transfer tomorrow, hope your embryos are coming along nicely

VenusStarr · 06/05/2021 13:39

@mowglika are you with Create? They've said similar to me. Brilliant you have 9 little embies 🙂

🤭 That could work @DoctorBambino

Hi @Bells3032 👋

VenusStarr · 06/05/2021 13:41

Fab news you're having transfer tomorrow @Crazydoglady123 🥳 how you feeling?

Hopefuleggs · 06/05/2021 13:43

@Hoping4baby21 yes, I have it just before bed! Give it a try and fingers crossed for melting into that bed Smile
