Couldn't see a thread for May so I thought I'd start one!

Anyone else doing their cycle in May? I just got my calendar through and all the injections look extremely Not Fun (this is my first time doing it) 😕

All sorry I have been quiet, I'm delivering a project this week that's been building for months. Typical it's the one week I have started meds and feel so so tired. 😞 not in the best place.

Super quick question. Is anyone on Fyremadal? Is so are you injecting in your leg? I didn't get told to inject in my leg but that's what the instructions say.

mowglika · 05/05/2021 13:42

@StrongEagle I was on fyremedal and I just did it in the abdomen, same as the menopur. I didn’t read the instructions but that’s what the nurse showed me. I’d imagine it might hurt more in the leg?

Had my EC today, feeling a bit sure, strong period pains but apart from that I’m fine. Looking forward to getting back and having a duvet day

They collected 15 eggs which I’m really happy with, surprised as only 14 were over 10mm on trigger day. Will wait to hear how many are mature tomorrow from the embryologist

@VenusStarr sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your cycle, my go to to hurry AF when it’s late is to take a pregnancy test. That seems to kick start it. I hope it starts properly soon xx

JesHope345 · 05/05/2021 13:58

@VenusStarr sorry to hear that things have been hard the past few days. Try not to worry too much I know it’s easier said than done but stress is not good for the body and one thing I have also realised during my journey is that being sad and worrying will not change the situation so I’ve tried to remain very positive and faithful. It’s disappointing when things don’t go to plan so now I’m literally taking each day as it comes as things can change on a daily basis.

I’ve gone from being under stimulated (only having 2 follicles after 9 days of stims) to now being told that I am very high risk of getting OHSS so may have to freeze all and have a FET on my next cycle. Because I stopped focusing on the ‘schedule’ I took the news quite well. This journey can be so draining but I hope and pray it will be all worth it for all of us 🙏.

@StrongEagle I use fyremedal and I’ve been advised to inject in either the thigh or abdomen. I find the abdomen less painful

@mowglika good to hear your egg collection went well and they collected lots of eggs!

TeaAndCrumpets1 · 05/05/2021 14:20

Hi ladies, I’ve got an embryo on board! They’ve put one top quality one home and I’ve got another top quality one in the freezer. They’ve got another few that are early blasts so not ready for freezing, really hoping that they come along to allow us to freeze as well. The embryologist didn’t sound too confident today though. Having had good numbers at EC and on day 2, I’d kind of hoped we’d have more than one frostie, but as the old saying goes ‘it only takes one good one!’

@mowglika really pleased for you, enjoy your duvet day!

@JesHope345 oh no, what a rollercoaster for you. Take care of yourself and make sure you’re drinking plenty of water xx

DoctorBambino · 05/05/2021 14:46

@strongeagle I'm on fyremadel and have been doing it in the thigh ever since I bothered to read the instructions. I did it in my stomach the first day. It does hurt a bit more in the thigh but I figured better to do what the instructions say! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Wow @mowglika 15 eggs is great!! Hope you're resting up and fingers crossed for your next few updates 🤞 how are you feeling?

What a turn around @jeshope345! Did they change your meds? I hope the ohss stays away for you. Are you feeling OK?

@teaandcrumpets1 congrats on being PUPO!! Amazing you have another top quality one in the freezer too. Let's hope you only need that one for a potential sibling!

I had my second scan today, didn't get much info other than I now have 3 at 15mm, no idea how the others are doing. Guess I'll find out more on Friday! I still feel completely normal.

@VenusStarr sorry your having a rubbish few days.. I don't know about you but I find a nice long walk to clear my head does wonders! I know if won't change things but might make you a bit better. Really hope think start looking up for you soon xx
@mowglika well done on your egg collection that's a great number of eggs! Yep enjoy the duvet day and rest up!
@TeaAndCrumpets1 congratulations on being PUPO! How exciting! Hope this 2 week wait going quickly for you and got everything crossed for a positive outcome 🤞😁
@DoctorBambino ahh that's good news that you have 3 of a very good size and I'm sure you will have some more catching up by Friday!
@JesHope345 oh my I am sorry to hear that you have gone from one extreme to the other in a short space of time.. Fingers crossed that you can avoid OHHS. If you do have to do a freeze all at least it will give your body a bit of recovery time. But whatever the route you go down I hope its a successful one!

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/05/2021 16:46

@mowglika great outcome, best of luck for tomorrow. I'm glad you're resting up!
@JesHope345 wow what a headfuck! Glad you're taking it well.
@TeaAndCrumpets1 yay! Here's to being PUPO!
@DoctorBambino so it's going well so far then!? I'm not sure what averages should be by certain times. It's prob a good thing you feel normal too. Lots of luck to you 🍀

StrongEagle · 05/05/2021 17:09

Thank you @mowglika @JesHope345 @DoctorBambino @clolo - I think I will do it in my tummy tomorrow. I felt like I had just got used to injecting there and then had the leg curveball thrown in x

@DoctorBambino sorry if I should know this but what day of stims are you on?

@TeaAndCrumpets1 congrats xx hope you're having a lovely relaxing afternoon.

I have seen a few of your write on here about doing IVF mindfulness, is there a good app recommendation? I would really like to try it x

Hoping4baby21 · 05/05/2021 17:40

@mowglika that is such a good result and a nice surprise as you weren't expecting that many eggs. Fingers crossed for good news about maturity and fertilisation tomorrow!

@VenusStarr im so sorry your a bit in limbo could you try doing the deed - sometimes that helps hurry mine along??

@TeaAndCrumpets1 im sure your embabies are getting all snug! Fingers crossed the embryologist comes back with an update and some more to freeze but like you said you just need one and you do!

@JesHope345 ooh I hope you manage to avoid OHSS but glad your taking it so well. Whatever gives you the best chance of success I guess, just got to focus on the prize.

@StrongEagle someone either on this thread or another suggested the mindful IVF app it is free to download in the app store.

Nix49816 · 05/05/2021 17:55

Hi all, I've just had my frozen embryo transfer. Sorry for tmi but on the way home I stopped to use the toilet and had some discolouration when wiping. When I got home there wasn't any more when wiping but a couple of tiny pink spots on the applicator when I put my pessary in.

Does anyone know if this is normal after transfer or should I be worried? Thanks!

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/05/2021 17:57

@Nix49816 yay for transfer! Can't help with your question as I'm new to ivf but just wanted to say yay for being PUPO! ♥️

Nix49816 · 05/05/2021 18:01

@notyetamumbuttrying aww thanks very much, came over all emotional today at the clinic, worry that it won't work again. Took me by surprise as I've been quite pragmatic about this round so far but it's just hard isn't it, all the waiting and build up and disappointments. Hopefully this one sticks though 🤞

Hopefuleggs · 05/05/2021 18:49

Hello ladies, hoping i can join you :)

I started my first day of stims yesterday (short protocol) and had a scan today which confirmed 5 follicles in one ovary and not much activity at all from the other. I was asked if I still wanted to go ahead - that's a hell yes please!

I initially paid for 3 cycles and one implantation (Create) but the whole process has been quite stressful and one cycle is now all I can get husband to agree to :( all my hopes on this one cycle but I know the chances. I'm 41 this year so everything crossed - as they say, it only takes one to be a success Smile

We'll see how my day 6 scan goes at the end of the week. Everything crossed.

I'm looking forward to reading all your stories and wishing you all lots of happy juicy egg luck x

Georgie87B · 05/05/2021 19:05

@Hopefuleggs welcome!! Ahh fingers crossed that the stims kick in and make them follicles grow nicely and you see progress on day 6! I am on day 5 of stims and have my first scan on Friday so am looking forward to seeing how I'm progressing too. Wishing you the best of luck and really hope it works for you this cycle! 🤞
@Nix49816 hi! Congrats on being PUPO! Sorry I'm the same as @notyetamumbuttrying and new to IVF but really hope it's nothing to worry about and this one sticks for you ❤️

Nix49816 · 05/05/2021 19:05

@hopefuleggs good luck for your cycle!!.I'm with create too but their sister company ABC, they've been really simple and straightforward so far for me which has made the process seem less overwhelming.

Everything can change each scan with your follicles so try not to worry too much and even 5 can give you the eggs you need 🙂

DoctorBambino · 05/05/2021 19:41

@StrongEagle day 8 of stims, its flying by!!

@notyetamumbuttrying I have no idea about averages by certain times either. They haven't upped my meds though so I guess it's going vaguely as expected!? Feel completely in the dark about it all to be honest.

Congratulations on being pupo @nix49816 I'm an ivf noob so no idea if that's normal either!

Welcome @hopefuleggs that sounds very early to ask if you want to continue!? Best of luck for your next scan 🍀

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/05/2021 19:55

@Nix49816 yes defo hoping for a sticky bean for you! Understandable emotion to have hun.
@Hopefuleggs welcome and good luck!
@DoctorBambino yeah it's weird how they don't tell you much. I'm gonna press mine at every opportunity lol, if I don't forget!! Really hard when it's nhs though, they're so bloody busy all the time.

VenusStarr · 05/05/2021 20:13

Thank you for all your kind words and support @2mumlife @mowglika @JesHope345 @Georgie87B @Hoping4baby21 I'm just in the bath with a face mask, have done an hour long mindfulness class and eaten lots of chocolate. I have had some heavier bleeding, so maybe it was a slow starter. Going to see how it is in the morning and make a decision then. Feel like I've lost all my confidence in decision making.

Lots of good progress for people today :) xx

2mumlife · 05/05/2021 20:13

@Nix49816 They normally say spotting is normal - remember, you've had a catheter pushed up your cervix, your cervix is allowed to be disgruntled by that! I got spotting after nearly every IUI attempt (also having a catheter pushed up their, just full of sperm rather than a wee embie!). If you're worried though always just call your clinic Smile. What pessaries are you on as you mention applicator? I got my drug delivery today and I'm going to be on Utrogestan because of the cyclogest shortage, which has an applicator. Just wondering if you're on the same and if so how you found the applicator? Looking at the applicators and that they are meant to be 3 times instead of the 2 with cyclogest, and also as I just used cyclogest up the back door which means no mess, I'm a little concerned about how fiddly and leaky the Utrogestan is going to be Blush

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/05/2021 20:50

@VenusStarr that's a good sign then! Have they said they'll still start you if it is your period? Nice self care, sounds good 😌

VenusStarr · 05/05/2021 21:18

Yes, if it is my period we can start @notyetamumbuttrying 🙏 just hoping when I wake up it'll be here properly. X

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/05/2021 21:40

@VenusStarr I'm sure it will! Hope you manage to sleep well ♥️

KayReeves · 05/05/2021 21:53

Hi all hope you’re good, i can feel period coming which means its almost time for IVF #4. This time i’m having Gonal F & Menopur from day 2 till the trigger shot depending on how I take to it as this is a new protocol. Anyone been on the same? Also have Buserelin throughout.

Nix49816 · 05/05/2021 22:02

@2mumlife thanks for the encouragement, it's reassuring that you have experienced it too. Clinic was shut by the time I got home so emailed them, hopefully get an answer in the morning.

Yes I'm on utrogestan, had these with my fresh cycle too. I'll be honest they are a bit of a pain. Putting then in is no problem, just like a long tampon 😆 It's just that they recommend laying down for 30 mins after so one in the morning before I get up no problem, another when I get into bed. The trouble comes mid day finding a meeting room or office I can lock myself into so I can lay on the floor! 🙈 Also there is a lot of discharge, they say oily, some of it is but largely its white and pastey, makes a mess of your underwear and 3 times a day there's no getting away from it so I'd recommend a liner or pad so you don't feel too uncomfortable. I guess compared to injections though it's a small price to pay but we do have to out ourselves through a lot to get these little ones don't we!
