Our other thread is now full so thought I would start this one to continue the chat.

@Beaglemum91 I'm waiting for my period so I can start meds for FET so that is really helpful information about the embryo transfer process. Thank you. Did you have your partner on Facetime or anything for it?

@Icsi2021 so excited for you xxx

@Clapham4 that's strange all mine weren't over

kittyfantastico21 · 21/07/2021 10:37

@Clapham4 I don't know what sizes mine were by the end but certain they weren't all over 17mm at my last scan because they said they wouldn't be ready for EC yet so gave me an extra day of bemfola and cetrotide. Also I'm pretty sure they said some of them were smaller and wouldn't be big enough, hence the prediction of eggs from about half of them. That's good that they gave you extra bemfola, do you have enough cetrotide for an extra day if it ends up being Saturday?

Clapham4 · 21/07/2021 10:42

Thanks both! Yeah have given me Bemfola and certrotide to do tonight & tomorrow. When they call later to confirm the collection date I might ask for more info.

Yeah I thought that too @Hoping4baby21 do you know what size yours were before collection? Did you have many over 17mm?

Hoping4baby21 · 21/07/2021 14:26

@Clapham4 I obviously pressed send too soon and then forgot to finish! I meant to say that is strange mine were all over 17mm when I triggered only 2 I think and then I got 7 eggs. But the ones smaller than 15mm I think the eggs were immature so didn't fertilise.

I'm attaching my tracking sheet if you can make it out if not then I will write it up.

So I would say under 15mm you can't count on typically. I think my right ovary produces dud eggs just a feeling. It's also a polycystic ovary and despite that only produced 2 good sized follicles. I also don't often ovulate from that side naturally.

Clapham4 · 21/07/2021 15:24

Thanks so much for sharing @Hoping4baby21 that gives me a bit of reassurance. I’ve 2 over 17, 1 at 16 and then a few at 14/15. So hopefully the extra few days on bemfola and the trigger will nudge a couple more up. Also did a Google deep dive all afternoon, and people have got eggs out of 14mm that worked so I’m going to try and relax now. What will be will be!

How’s everyone else going? Xx

Hoping4baby21 · 21/07/2021 15:29

@Clapham4 oh I'm glad your google deep dive (love that term) was reassuring! Exactly right what will be will be at this point.

I just got the time of my transfer confirmed now it's my final push to decide if I want to do the acupuncture pre and post or not. I think my gut is no But I keep thinking perhaps I'm overreacting to those few article and should just go as planned.

kittyfantastico21 · 21/07/2021 17:05

@Clapham4 glad you're feeling a bit better about things! Did you find out if you're triggering this evening?

@Hoping4baby21 good luck good luck good luck for your transfer tomorrow!!! I'm sending you all the good wishes. If you feel like acupuncture has been helpful for relaxation then I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad thing. There are always limitations to scientific studies and especially if there aren't very many of them then I'd take it with a pinch of salt and not let it stop you. I think it's very unlikely to be the main difference between the transfer being successful vs not. So if going would help you to feel like you've given it everything you can then go for it!

I haven't had a call back from the clinic still, but I feel okay about it. I've calmed down a lot since yesterday and am trusting that if this was likely to be an issue they would have mentioned it. They know what they're doing and patients with hypothyroidism must be very common so I'm sure they know how to deal with it and I should just trust them to do their jobs!

I'm starting utrogestan tomorrow and am worried about doing it wrong! Any tips? Also does it have to be at the exact same time each day? I can do the morning and night ones at the same time but the middle of the day one will be impossible to be always at the same time because of meetings. Hopefully half an hour early or late won't matter too much?

Hoping4baby21 · 21/07/2021 19:11

@kittyfantastico21 thank you!!!! Well I have been so busy I haven't called the clinic to say what time it is and book a slot and I feel find about it. I think that says it all really.

I had a session this Monday anyway so I'm sure it's fine.
I'm glad your feeling better but I agree they do know what they are doing and you flagged it to them so I'm sure they would come back to you if it was urgent.

I space mine out every 6-8 hrs, I'm sure the instructions say that so you have a bit of leyway. I do 9am 3pm and 9pm. Buy panty liners! I repeat buy panty liners! Make sure you lie down for at least 15 mins after each one, I do 30 mins and find I have less "fall out" 🤮 that way. Don't worry about it not being enough, what comes out isn't needed as long as you lay down for 15 mins. Final tip use your finger, the applicator isn't great and I've dropped them on the floor etc before. Or had it fall out from my lady bits. Finger means I know it's high and secure lol!

kittyfantastico21 · 22/07/2021 09:16

@Hoping4baby21 thanks for your tips! First pessary done and it was much easier than I thought it would be. And the clinic called and said the level of oestrogen I'm on isn't enough to affect TSH that much, so nothing to worry about. So that's a relief! Now just the countdown to transfer day - so exciting!

Hope you're feeling good this morning ahead of your transfer. Wishing you all the luck!

Hoping4baby21 · 22/07/2021 09:27

@kittyfantastico21 excellent! Knew it would be fine but also it's the right thing to do to make sure and double check.

I am KNACKERED did not sleep well the last few nights with the heat and last night probably just thinking had weird dreams aswell. So I think when I come back home I'll be taking a nap.

Got some good shows lined up to watch when I get back.

Becky105 · 22/07/2021 10:56

@Hoping4baby21 good luck with your transfer, I've got everything crossed for you!!! It's weird that you said about funny dreams, last night I dreamed that i couldn't hold a baby properly, kept picking it up and nearly dropping it, so I was having to cross my legs and sit down to shop the baby up and not let it fall. All very odd lol.

@kittyfantastico21 that's great news that your TSH won't be affected and isn't an issue.

My period is still a no show but I was looking carefully at the dates and I think that it is delayed because of my second vaccine. When I looked at my tracking app my cycle is usually 30 days the only time in the past 7 months it was not was after my first Jab, now I've had my second one and it's late for the second time. I too googled my theory and confirmed lots of woman have had menstrual reactions to their vaccine.

Clapham4 · 22/07/2021 11:40

@Hoping4baby21 best of luck today!! Xx

@kittyfantastico21 countdown is on then! Very exciting 💕

@Becky105 oh that’s good news that your period should be here soon then if it’s the vaccine. The vaccine effected my period too. Strange isn’t it! When do you expect it then if it’s 7 days late? X

Hoping4baby21 · 22/07/2021 12:18

@Becky105 thank you!! The full bladder is so uncomfortable!

Yes it probably is the vaccination, hopefully it is ok it's way soon!

Hopeful1234567 · 22/07/2021 12:42

@Hoping4baby21 wishing you lots of luck for today 💓💓

Clapham4 · 22/07/2021 21:11

How’d it go @Hoping4baby21?

I’m doing my trigger tonight for a Saturday transfer they confirmed 😬 xx

Hoping4baby21 · 22/07/2021 21:24

@Clapham4 it went well thanks! Although having the full bladder was so hard. There were a few moments I though I might wet myself 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️. It's not the most comfortable procedure but no pain and it's over in a flash. Embryo thawed really well so the same grade as when it was frozen. So now we wait!

Didn't do acupuncture in the end and I'm glad considering how tired I was getting up any earlier and doing all that back and forth would not have been a good idea.

Had two hour nap when I came back home and just been chilling since. Just made some banana bread randomly lol.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes! Hope your all having good days.

kittyfantastico21 · 23/07/2021 09:09

@Becky105 that makes sense, I have heard of the vaccine affecting cycles. Hope your period shows up soon!

@Clapham4 hope your trigger injection went well. Enjoy your injection-free day today! Wishing you so much luck for your EC tomorrow!

@Hoping4baby21 great news on the transfer going smoothly. I hope you have as calm and peaceful a TWW as possible!

Hoping4baby21 · 23/07/2021 10:51

@Clapham4 best of luck with you egg collection tomorrow! Take time to rest and chill afterwards you will have served it.

@kittyfantastico21thank you! I think the first 5 days will be fine and then the last 5 days ill be dying to test or feeling doomed its failed and everything in between.

Mouseorchestra7 · 23/07/2021 15:02

Hi Ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining in! Currently undergoing second round at ABC.

I went in for my scan today and the nurse that scanned me wasn't wearing a mask. I've been worrying about getting the virus and my treatment being cancelled, but thought I could rely on the nurses wearing masks! I'm now panicking about this a bit. I've been double jabbed, but it's still a risk. Have scans with the same nurse next week. Just wondered what your experiences have been and how you are approaching isolating etc if you have had the jabs? Also posted on the main board about this, so you can prob tell I'm worried! This round is causing me a lot more anxiety than the last. Just so worried it's not going to work again.

kittyfantastico21 · 23/07/2021 17:31

@Mouseorchestra7 welcome! That does seem odd, given how hot they are on temperature checking, patients wearing masks, questionnaire about Covid stuff on entry etc. But now that I'm thinking about it I really can't remember whether the nurse was wearing a mask at my last scan. Definitely bring it up with the clinic as it's made you uncomfortable.

I'm isolating even though I'm double vaccinated because I know a few people who've had both jabs and still got covid and for me isolating for a couple of weeks is worth it to avoid the risk of my transfer being cancelled. But I realise I'm very lucky to be able to work from home and not have any social plans that I had to cancel! Some contact with others is unavoidable and I'm less worried about going to the clinic than I would be about going to a big sports event or even a pub/restaurant. Nurses will all probably have been vaccinated and I would think many of the people visiting the clinic will be being careful about social contacts.

lawandgin · 23/07/2021 18:34

@Hoping4baby21 how exciting that you've had your transfer. Fingers are crossed for you.

@Clapham4 I can't believe your EC is here already! Good luck and can't wait to hear how you get on. Are you having to go to St Pauls?

@Mouseorchestra7 I am also double jabbed but I am isolating. I appreciate I am very lucky to be WFH and that we can get shopping delivered. More difficult will be if my parents want to see us because they don't know we've started!

My medication was delivered yesterday so I'm ready to go when AF shows up - which should be Tuesday, but day 1 likely to be the day after Grin I had to open one of the boxes of bemfola I was so excited and I was pleasantly surprised that the pen was smaller than I expected! This week has been absolutely horrible work wise, so thank goodness it's the weekend - hope everyone has a nice one Smile

Clapham4 · 23/07/2021 21:51

Thanks all!! Getting a big nervous now about tomorrow but trying to push it to the back of my mind.

@lawandgin doing it in the Wimbledon clinic. Yay you got the drugs!! Honestly I was surprised with how easy it is, and I’m a wimp. Ended up doing them all myself too. Honestly getting a wax is way worse. The injection is over and done so quick!

@Mouseorchestra7 that’s so strange! They’ve been super strict when I’ve gone in. I’m at the Wimbledon clinic. Good luck with your second round! Are you doing a FET or the whole process again?

@kittyfantastico21 how are you getting on?

@Hoping4baby21 how are you feeling after the ET? Everything crossed for you! Xx

Mouseorchestra7 · 23/07/2021 22:33

Thanks @lawandgin and @kittyfantastico21 I have decided am going to isolate as much as i can now. Cancelled something I had planned for tomorrow. Only have a week to do so, and it just hit me that I really don't want to have to cancel my whole cycle if I happen to catch Covid. Best of luck with the next steps in your treatment. Have been following this thread from time to time and everyone's stories and wishing you the best of luck.

@Clapham4, yes, it was unexpected. Might say something to the nurse when I go in next week. Am doing the whole process again. Would have been aghast at the thought of doing more than one cycle before i started this process but found my first round with ABC remarkably painless. Good luck with your EC. I will be having mine in a couple days as well at st Paul's. Xx

Hopeful1234567 · 23/07/2021 23:10

@Hoping4baby21 glad it all went well for you! Have all my fingers crossed 💓.
@Clapham4 Hope your EC goes well!
@Mouseorchestra7 completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ve avoided seeing anyone really when going through treatment as it feels like a risk. I am at the wilmslow clinic so will be interesting if the nurses are wearing masks there too. Did they let your partner go into the appointment?
